2013 April NBA |OT| Pipe Dreams

I have a few hundred cards somewhere from when I was a kid.

Do they still make them? I really don't know.

Also, wtf anthony davis might have torn his ACL!?

If the NBA was the the porn business, Golden State would be a fluffer who finally got promoted to taking it in the ass, while the Lakers would be the producer who has splooged on the faces of thousands of young ladies over the years. You think Golden State getting more camera time means anything to the Lakeshow?

Haha great schtick man

I love Kobe but without jerry I'm surprised they're so close to making it this yr. If it all comes down to the last game, next wed night is gonna be some good times

"I just always like to see a little more ball movement because he attracts so much attention," Gasol said. "He attracts so much double-teams off pick-and-rolls, off isolations, and he's made great plays, great passes down the stretch. But he was extra aggressive tonight. It's interesting to see how [Tuesday] he was not aggressive for three quarters [and then scored 23 in the fourth]. Today, he was aggressive for four quarters. What's the reason behind it? I don't know. To me it's interesting as a player and as a teammate what goes through his mind."

Pau spitting the truth like fire.

"At the end of the game, Pau was looking for Kobe, and I'm like, 'What the hell are you looking for Kobe for? Go to work. You don't have time for spectating. Everybody, what the f--- are you looking for Kobe for? Go to work. Everybody go to work,'" World Peace said Tuesday. "The five guys that are on that floor? We go to work. We're not watching. We don't take pictures. That's what you guys [in the media] are for, you take pictures. We're not taking pictures out there. We can't even bring a camera on the floor if we had a chance."

Pan and Dwight need to STFU. Do these guys know nothing about game situation? If Kobe held back last night, we obviously get blown out. These clowns would rather lose playing "inside out" than win with Kobeball it seems

Do you realize your unhealthy obsession with Kobe Bryant makes you unable to comprehend whatever anyone says about him?

I havnt forgotten the Dubs blowing a fucking 20 point lead against LA at home in Nash's first game back from injury. nothing is a given with them.

Lol what part of that quote was "truth like fire"

"Kobe was more consistently aggressive this game than last, why the change? I don't know I'm not a fucking psychologist but it would be interesting to know what he's thinking" does not qualify as hot fire truth. Unless you're molding the statement into "I told you Kobe's a ball hog and his teammates hate him!" - which is totally an Emwitus thing to do but not what Pau said at all. The confirmation bias is strong with this one.

They have gone 5-1 in their past six with Bryant playing 45.7 minutes per game while averaging 28.0 points, 9.2 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.2 blocks.

Dudes getting 9.2 assists and people still complaining about his shooting.

Without 70 points in the past 60 minutes from the man who has always been this team's foundation and its ceiling, the Lakers most likely fumble away their playoff seed to a pair of lottery teams.

Just think about that for a second

So Tyson and Martin are both out for the Bulls game? Streak over man streak over...

Not if the Bulls don't have Deng, Noah, and Rose. Bulls are tanking for the 6th seed to face the Pacers. The Nets aren't a challenge for Rose when god gives him the sign to play in the playoffs.

Kobe should come play for the Heat

he and Wade would make a pretty sweet back court

the back court yall almost had in '04

We'd be talking about how D Wade is the best PG in the game. He'd be what Westbrook is now without the low basketball IQ.

Except you know, without all the quickness that helps at that position.

I meant if that backcourt was assembled in 04. Not today. I thought I bolded that sentence in the quote my bad.

Nah, Kobe should come to the Bulls and win #6 and #7 with D Rose, surpassing MJ with rings, then retiring.

Top 10 all time players don't jump ship in their twilight years to chase rings and win that way. Shaq is probably the only one to try, and the basketball gods made sure it wouldn't happen.

Edit: I guess Wilt, but I'm not sure he was in his twilight years when he came over to LA. Pretty close I guess.

I know it won't happen, neither would the Heat scenario, I was just having a little fun. It would be poetic to pass MJ in rings though while playing for the Bulls. Kobe would be that second scorer the Bulls have needed with Rose for the last 3 years. Kobe supposedly likes Rose a lot. Not going to happen, but it would be something to see.

I would really love to see Denver play someone else in the first round. Lakers,Spurs or Thunder. I think they could shock some of the top seeded teams.

I'm pretty sure it won't happen and that Kobe would never take a backseat as a scorer to Rose

michael beasley lol

“I’ve stopped listening to people, and I’m just doing what I know how to do,” Beasley said.

When asked what people specifically Beasley has stopped listening to, no one was excluded from his list — not even his coaches.

“Everybody,” he said. “Just everybody, from my friends, to family, to teammates, to coaches.”

The “coaches” remark didn’t go unnoticed. Aren’t the coaches there to help?

“Yeah, definitely,” he said. “But at the same time, I’m the one out there in the fire. The coach can tell me what he sees from a third party perspective, but I’m seeing it first hand. Once I set a screen and I roll, and another guy steps up … if he doesn’t step up, I’ve got a jump shot. Or, I can go around him, or I’ve got [a teammate] for a dunk. There’s so many things that I can do that only my instincts can tell me.”

WTF are you saying? Never mind your proposition that Kobe is a clearcut top 10 player ever, I don't even want to touch that one since that's all you would remember, but tons of all time greats have done it... Oscar Robertson was traded at the end of his career, Barkley moved around, Karl Malone obviously... It's something players do... Kareem, Shaq and Lebron did it in their primes even... Hakeem, Jordan and Ewing wanted to keep playing...

I just love how Kobe is somehow a defining example of class, how some things are just beyond him. The fucking irony, he's always been scummy, driving Shaq out of town and unlike him, Colorado, his general attitude...

He won't play elsewhere, but that's for a shitton of reasons that have nothing to do with how he'd want his career to be some sort of pristine precedent.

Even Jordan would have left Chicago if he was not offered 30M a year eventually.

Its Vag man.

Also, Kobe + D Rose would be the most NO FUN ALLOWED squad ever.

Jordan was offered 40 million by Toronto, he didn't go there. Kareem, Shaq, Lebron in their primes is a useless point. I said ring chasing in their twilight years. What the heck does primes have to do with it?

You're thinking I said all time greats don't change teams. What I said is, top 10 all time greats don't jump ship to ring chase in their twilight on other teams. Very specific point that's got nothing to do with primes of players or Colorado or 90% of the shit u mentioned.

Jordan, Kareem, Bird, Magic, Hakeem, TD, Shaq, Big O, West, Kobe, Russell, Wilt. Of those guys only Shaq was explicitly changing teams in his twilight to ring chase. Sure Barkley and Malone and Nash did it, but a) they're not top 10 all time greats and b) they don't have a fistful of rings like those other guys.

Nothing you said was relative to my point. It was just ancillary nonsense about how Kobe's a bad guy and great players have been traded during their primes. And some nonsense about Kobe being an example of class which has nothing to do with what I said.

For the record, I personally think a big part of why those guys don't jump ship to ring chase when they're old is because of pride, not class. So I have no idea where u even got that "defining blah blah of class" thing from.

have we forgotten about the time he went on the radio crying and publicly demanded a trade to stephen a smith

Not at all. but some people have forgotten basic reading comprehension skills.

All I know is that Kobe didn't make me spend my night in Verizon center watching time machine Ray Allen and the return of young Snake. Fuck LeBron, go Knicks!

Hey man, you got to see Ray Allen throw it down with AUTHORITY.

LMAO SAS is pissed off at Jim Buss. He's right though. I usually don't agree with him but he is 100%. Oh and Skip said he doesn't want the Spurs to play the Lakers in the first round.

Kobe is undoubtedly top 10 all time.

Still had a good time. Knew I was taking a big risk, but my wife had a great time too... so no divorce papers necessary.

It was crazy how about half the people there were Miami Heat "fans." Kind of sad. I felt obligated to give good job, good effort claps to Wall and company.

As long as the wife was happy, thats all that matters. I've been on the other side of that coin. And hey, Wall did look pretty good.

Tons of people said it was a bad move, this place included. Jerry picking MikeD over Phil has what to do with Jim Buss' ego tho?

We don't know what happened behind the scene, but given the state of health Jerry was in at that point, I doubt he's very much involved in the decision. If Jim told his father that Antoni was a bad idea, I'm pretty sure he'd listen.

I can't dig em up right now but Mitch Jim and Jerry all pretty much said Jerry had the final word on the coach decision.
