2013 High-Res PC Screenshot Thread of Let the JPEG Die Already

Question for Crysis 2 guys: what is the console command to get rid of the HUD? I know the one for FoV and getting rid of the weapon but can't find the one to get rid of the overlay.

Put these in your autoexec:

bind l hud_hide 1

bind k hud_hide 0

That way you can toggle the hud on and off as you wish using the k and l keys.

Some of the foliage in the second shot looks strangely squiggly.

No idea... using rygels textures, could be that?

A few from Crysis 1 that I have laying about:

One last thing about DmC: Any idea on how to fix the jagged shadows in the cutscenes? I edited the Engine.ini and upped the min and max shadowresolution to 4096, but the shadows are still crap.

Any ideas? scitek again, maybe?

Make sure hardware shadow filtering is set to false, it's broken. Also set branching shadows to false and change the shadow filter radius from 2.5 to 10. I can't remember all the commands by heart and can't look them up (I'm on my phone) but they're all next to each other in the ini.

Awesome screenshot right there. I have never played another game that smooths out as well as portal does.

Btw, how do you browse the thread on your phone? I get on with my iPhone, the non-s 4, and it freaks the fuck out, I believe because it's wee memory is having horrible things done to it by the screens.

Edit: I have now noticed the humor of our avatars stacked on top of each other.

GAF mobile with the photos off. It's in the settings. You can just tap a screen to see it if you want.

Can I ask what in-game graphics settings you're using? I have this weird dithering thing happening with the shadows in mine, and that's with settings on full. That's w/ an AMD card.

Everything maxed that can be maxed. Playing in 1080p on SLI 670's.

After the Crytek stuff, here a game with good art direction ;)

Dear Esther, downampled + 8xMSAA

Seriously why has Crytek been getting so much shit lately for their art direction? They set out to achieve realism and their arguably the best in the industry in meeting that goal. Just because a game isn't stylized or fantastical doesn't mean it's a bad piece of art. Reality is just as deserving of praise as something cartoony or extraordinary. Setting out to mimic reality is a truly grueling and difficult task and crytek has pulled it off wonderfully. I'm curious if you also share the sentiment that Renaissance art is also bad because it was a move towards realism? If you wanna talk about bad art I could point out more than a few jrpgs that in my opinion more than meet that criteria.

I can't believe it, the texture level options were (from memory) Low, Simple, Normal and Medium (or something) and there were some other options that were equally (and bizarrely) restrictive. It's free on GMG right now (actually, I think it may have ended a few hours ago) and it's (no shit) 90% QTEs. So I played it for 30 mins then deleted it. But it looks nice (ran like shit though, ~40-50fps)

Oh, and downsampled from 1440p to 1080p:

Sorry for bringing it up, not the thread for this. There is something about their texturing, geometry and art that feels off to me. Also the horrible thing the Nanosuit has become. It all looks comical to me.

BF3 easily beats it in terms of realism IMO.
