The fact that Colorado is a 5th seed team tells me these are going to be the best playoffs ever. There's been so many years where the bracket was filled with mediocre teams who got in because 8 out of 12 teams made it.

In a deal completed in just over a month, MLS’s Real Salt Lake has signed LifeVantage as its new jersey sponsor.

While Salt Lake City is one the smallest markets in MLS, the deal is one of the league’s largest, as MLS sources put it at $30 million over 10 years. That’s about $1.3 million more per year than the team’s stadium naming-rights deal and three times more per year than what was being paid by XanGo, its jersey sponsor since 2005.

LifeVantage becomes the latest “nutraceutical” marketer to align itself with MLS. Herbalife has been on Los Angeles Galaxy shirts since 2007, and its most recent deal was a league-high $44 million over 10 years. In addition, AdvoCare has been on FC Dallas kits since last season.

The LifeVantage-emblazoned jerseys will be on the field starting next season and get the advantage of a uniform redesign from Adidas. With a sales network of independent distributors, LifeVantage plans to leverage this deal wherever RSL plays.

Geeze. I finally saw the Galaxy's goal that wasn't given. That's just disgraceful reffing.

Give me goal line tech. At a minimum I want 2 extra refs at each goal box to call fouls and confirm goals. Ideally, both.

The black spot just past the line inside the goal...yeah that's where the ball bounced. Bounced. It was more than a full ball width inside the goal. Awful.

Agh can we please stop signing pyramid schemes please

I hear people say that all. Are MLM companies a legitimate business ? What exactly is the business model of a company like Herbalife, amway ? and why do so many of these MLM sell nutritional and dietary supplements ?
I know some hedge fund manager called it a pyramid scheme (herbalife) and there was a pissing contest between him and Carl Ichan.

LA still got the third spot.

I like Colorado but a Seattle-Portland playoff matchup sounds beautiful.
I want this so bad. I couldn't go to the last Seattle game because tickets are absolutely awful hard to get for those games, but I should have tickets to these playoff matches. I want us to eliminate Seattle SO BADLY.

My seats are at the other end, and I saw that and said to my wife "I think that was in", but then it wasn't given.

Then I got texts from two different people watching on TV from LA calling bullshit

ill probably buy them then if i move to Harrison/Kearney

Any particular reason you're moving out there?

Tons of my friends recently moved to Newark (Ironbound or Downtown), and I was supposed to move there myself, but I've met a good number of people that moved to the area just recently.

The season ended two days ago and we're still sitting here waiting for the full playoff schedule and what the league is actually going to do.

That's some bush league crap. Embarrassing.

Supposedly they might change the schedule to play during a FIFA international week

But yes, bush league.

Lots of people I know that want to buy playoff tickets can't just yet because they don't know which day the game will land on.

AP Source: Beckham Picks Miami for MLS Franchise

With his playing career over, former England captain David Beckham has decided his next move: starting a Major League Soccer team in Miami.

Since leaving the Los Angeles Galaxy in December, and retiring from the game after a subsequent five-month stint at Paris Saint-Germain, Beckham has been mulling over the location for his MLS franchise.

Beckham has now made up his mind and he will pay a discounted rate of $25 million to start an MLS expansion team in Miami, a person with knowledge of the situation told The Associated Press on Tuesday. The person spoke on condition of anonymity because plans for the team aren't being publicly discussed yet.

The option of becoming a team owner was included in the MLS contract Beckham signed when joining the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2007.

"We know that Miami is one of the most passionate soccer markets in North America," MLS Executive Vice President Dan Courtemanche told the AP. "We have met with David Beckham regarding ownership of an expansion team, and we look forward to David one day owning an MLS club."

There are currently 19 MLS teams, and league commissioner Don Garber hopes to expand to 24 teams by the 2020 season. A 20th team is already in place to begin playing in 2015 after Premier League club Manchester City and its partner, the New York Yankees, paid an expansion fee of $100 million to launch New York City FC.

The MLS still has to give Beckham the go-ahead to make Miami the location of the franchise.

...

Before deciding on Miami as the franchise location, Beckham explored options in other cities, including Montreal, San Diego and Orlando, the person said.

There's probably going to be football lines down at Gillette on Saturday. UMass plays a home game Saturday afternoon at Gillette, and the Pats have a home game on Sunday.

League is a joke.

We get two days rest and a home leg on a Wednesday night.

Home field advantage my dick.

Might as well have lost on Sunday.

Robles said after the match that he was fine despite having a bag of ice wrapped on his left knee. But New York head coach Mike Petke revealed Tuesday that Robles underwent an MRI on Monday to make sure that was indeed the case ahead of the first leg of Sunday’s Eastern Conference Semifinal series against Montreal or Houston (3:30 pm ET, NBC).

“He had treatment yesterday, he’s getting treatment today,” Petke said on Tuesday in his weekly media conference call. “I would suspect that we’ll hold him out of practice tomorrow, possibly the next day, [but] definitely tomorrow. The other day is up in the air.

“All indications are that it’s not super serious. It’s something that’s already improved over the last two days now since the game and it’s going to continue to get better and he should be ready to go.”

At least I have faith in Meara but it's certainly a turn of fortune between this and the league rigging our fucking schedule.

Great shot for Brad Evans. Right through 4-5 guys with power. Nice goal.
Agreed.

I can't believe that there is a high possibility I'm going to be watching the Timbers play Seattle at home for a second playoff game. I will be in the Timbers Army for this game. Holy shit. I'm so excited.

Another mess from Gspurning. Totally got bailed out there by his D. His play and decision making seems awful this year in the games I've watched. What's going on with him?

AHHHHHH OH MY GOD

Okay. Maybe I don't know the rules enough, but how can you fucking make a sub when someone gets a red card? I didn't think you could do that.
