2013 NBA Playoffs |OT| Lakers started from the bottom, and they still there

... Is there a Red Sox game on now? Why are there so many empty seats in the arena?

EDIT:

Yup. MT @Howard Beck I've covered a lot of Celtics playoff games the last five years. This has to be the most empty seats I've seen.

Defense still matters, and Kobe hasn't played in 2-3 years.

Yeah the guy who takes the opposition's best PG in his mid 30s plays no defense. Kobe's haters in the media have done an excellent job of making ignorant fans believe this but it's blatantly false.

He will give mediocre shooters open 3s to conserve energy (cos he's carrying the offense and guarding PGs at age his age) but he does not get broken down or straight up abused by anyone. And when he needs to make a stop, he usually does. The guy is not a bad defender by any means and it's disgusting how the conventional wisdom is now the opposite just because some media haters were mad that coaches kept putting him on the All Defensive team.

Knicks down 22-17? I'll take that 1st quarter.

Observations:

- So far Novak appears to be taking JR's minutes, no idea if that means Shump/Kidd/Felton take the rest or if Quentin Richardson/James White are an option.
- Carmelo definitely playing 40+ tonight unless there's a blowout.
- Celts hitting more of their open shots, still not trusting the bench to do shit, Pierce/Green/Bass played teh whole 1st quarter. They leaving it on the court.

Yup leaving mediocre shooters like Klay Thompson/Thabo/Crawford open is GREAT defense.

You act like he is letting Kendrick Perkins take the wide open 3's that cripple the lakers not decent to good wing players.

Kobe has been a joke on D for years, it just was the first year even 1% of the media noticed.
