fans are horrendous. The reverence they have for what is a good game with a 'by the numbers' space opera story is baffling.

The only two fanbases worse than Marvel fans are...,

But the very, very, very worst are, without doubt, hardcore
Nintendo
fans.

Rush fans. (and I love Rush)

I think everyone thinks a fandom that they are tangentially connected to is awful.

I think fandoms are mostly fine, just a few who tend to be over-eager in both their love and defense of some things.

I'm curious now because I am one of those that can't stand her weird american accent/delivery but if you liked her in this show...

If I recall correctly, she(*being Melissa George, an Australian) plays a British person pretending to be an American for an assignment, so she goes back and forth between British and American accents depending on the situation. That you know her American accent is supposed to be fake makes it more palatable, imo.

(talking about Hunted, for those of you just tuning in:)

I have some questions that require TV show specialist insight.

If a show gets renewed for a new season, does that mean that the TV channel is ordering more episodes regardless of whether or not the show wants to continue or not, is it forcing the show to continue?

If a show only wants to make 12 episodes, does a TV channel have the ability to say, "no, we want 22", which is why it seems like some shows have 10 good episodes, and then 12 meh ones, because the TV station just wanted more?

Who decides how many episodes are in one season of a show? The show? The TV channel?

If a show only has one season going, and the TV channel has renewed the show for 2 more seasons, is that a contractual obligation or can the TV show say, "nah bruh, we're done".

I would assume that in any renewal situation, a contract negotiation has been completed before any such announcement is made. So if you're asking if a show can be renewed against its will, the answer is likely "no."

Examples

TV show = How I Met Your Mother

TV channel = CBS

And lol, I knew that I had no clue what I was talking about before I made the post.

The plot was stretched thin because it had to jump from angel to angel, but that's pretty typical of a pilot, so I wanted to give it some slack. But the acting was quite poor. The characters are:
- A DEA undercover agent in Mexico;
- a high school swimmer who is in love with the hot girl;
- a television mega-church preacher
(whose wife is pregnant with his dad's child)
;
- a SETI scientist;
- a single mom just trying to make it in the world (it's actually shocking, even for television standards, how trite this is)

I feel like I just watched the Heroes pilot.
- A DEA undercover agent in Mexico;
Cop

- a high school swimmer who is in love with the hot girl;
High School Cheerleader

- a television mega-church preacher;
Politician

- a SETI scientist;
Scientist who studies genetics.

- a single mom just trying to make it in the world
same.

Random question:

Wipeout was confirmed last year for renewal and a summer 2015 showing/rebranding. Then people said it didn't make ABC's summer schedule. What happened to it?

What happened to USA? Wasn't it on top of the world a while ago?

Was is that its old shows starting leaking audiences, or did it just fail to launch anything new?

Ever since Psych, USA has been cancelling everything I watch on their network.

I don't think I've watched anything on their network since Psych was cancelled.

My top 3 shows right now are The Goldbergs, Brooklyn 99(though it has such weird, long, breaks), and Fresh off the Boat.

Strangely, my favorite character on Goldbergs and FotB is the mom.
