Fallout looks weird with all that green.

Everything should be dead.

There are not really "perfect" vegetation mods for Fallout. So I just went for the most appealing version. A stalker like vegetation would be awesome.

edit: I'll post the 2 other versions.

Texturing, sure, but lighting? Nah it has amazing lighting

Yeah. The texturing/streaming and AA issues are really the only sore spot for the engine.

Oddly enough, Quake Wars used Megatexturing and never suffered any of these issues and looked great.

Also: IT5 needs SMAA 4x badly.

Before you say something too, this game is a bit more blurry than other games by default. Game uses some kind of distance/edge blurring http://i3.minus.com/ibzBt11QtIO8I8.png

Also: Don't downsample too large and use SGSSAA at the same time with driver downsampling. Game does not like it, creates some shimmering/moire :(. 1.5x1.5 works out fine though.

If GeDoSaTo worked with this game, would be able to see if that worked better. But it doesn't :|

Quake wars didn't use Id Tech 5 though did it? I loved that game :(

I bought Skyrim off the Steam sale the other day just because of all the screens posted in here. I've never modded a game in my short PC gaming time frame. Which ones would you guys recommend?

Nobody answered you, so allow me to give you an overblown response!

While I should say that the idea of Modding Skyrim is something that's only really something you yourself should decide about, as in which mods to use, I understand where you are. You have your toe in the water and it feels great, but it's a big pond, and you know it's deep. So allow me to start you off on two paths that will, at the very least, get you more knowledgeable about the modding process and still provide results that you'd probably like.

Here's the Dead End Thrills Forums Skyrim Screenshotting Guide
There used to be a mod list that DET used, but I can't seem to find it.

Here's an ok list from Reddit
Although this list is not quite up to date with the newest mods, most of it's suggestions are great, and it's a good idea to use some of them as starting points. For example, if they suggest a specific skin mod, it might be wise to open another tab and compare other popular skin mods.

Here's an old thread I started about how Skyrim changes due to mods
It's a quirky idea I had to keep a guide for myself and share it with others, but the nature of Skyrim modding can be unpredictable, and as such, I never really finished it. Still fun to look back.

You can use the Steam Workshop to "Subscribe" to mods, which means Steam will auto-install and auto-update "Subscribed" mods when you open the Skyrim Launcher. I would suggest that you not do this, however, because of the nature of SKSE (Skyrim Script Extender) which is required for more advanced mods such as SkyUI.

Your main source of mods should naturally be at Skyrim Nexus
This site has it's own mod distribution platform that you can use to keep all of your mods in order and easily add/remove them at will.

Most mods will be on Nexus rather than Steam Workshop, but if they aren't on either site, you can check the more niche sites, like Dragonporn, and loverslab. (Careful, both can be very nsfw, so google them at your own risk)

If you still need help with specific things, nothing beats a human.
My steam name is spazznid. Give me a friend request, and hit me up if you run into any trouble getting an enb to work or looking for specific mods. I know some of the other people in here wouldn't mind helping either.

You mean the static lighting which never changes and is not even HDR correct so you see green squares and miscolor banding in it?

I like idtech 5s priorities (60 fps), but the things it did to get there for last gen consoles are absurd from the PC perspective. The game does not support 120hz in retail even though John carmack was demoing the game at 120hz at E3.

A lot of false promises with rage from a technical level that seems odd for an id game.

Not like most games these days have high precision HDR lol and lack of banding.

Also: Green squares? That sounds more like compression artifacts

As someone who just yesterday installed the mod manager and never modded anything (that complex) before. You say that you use smaa and temproal aa for your game... are those injectors or applied at driver level? (Is sweetfx smaa working with an heavy modded Skyrim?)

I want to disable MSAA completely and only go with shader aa to save some resources.

Huge thanks! I have yet to install the game yet since I've bought so many others off the sale this week but I'm going to try to mess with it this weekend. I'll send you a request here shortly!

Likely SweetFX as ENB's have their own AA method and do not work properly with any hardware AA.

SweetFX works fine.

The temporal AA from the ENB and SMAA from SweetFX.

Beautiful looking game, seems to use a lot of POM like Serious Sam 3. Trees are using POM too. The effect is very similar to Pixel Accurate Displacement Mapping Crysis 3 had.
