2016 PC Screenshot Thread of No Compromises

Rubmifer, how do you get those cinematic Doom shots? Great stuff.

I almost wasn't going to answer this seeing as you (for some reason) asked one specific person who is posting those types of screenshots :P

Anyways....

What you need are:

DET's Cheat Table. Enables Timestop, custom FOV control, and depth of field.

HattiWatti's free camera tool. Moving the camera away from the player will also hide the HUD as the HUD is a physical instance placed in front of the character model (seriously).

DOOM continues to look excellent. The reflections, lighting, depth of field, and demon models have made for many really great shots on this thread the last week. It's a wonderful looking game. And an even better performer. I haven't even really tried taking some screens yet because it's so hard to stop playing.

I felt that way until "Titan's Realm" I think it was called. Seems like they ran out of creative juice in their level design and went HAM on the monster wave rooms. Just 1 arena battle after the other. It got a little repetitive with nothing really new being introduced. Still, up until that point, it was hard to put down. Easily a contender for my game of the year so far.

And now, here's one for the The Pseudoscroller Parlour.

RaceRoom looks extraordinary considering it's a F2P game. A shame the cars aren't affected by motion blur, they do stand out a bit awkwardly from the background.

Anyway, I finally got Hattiwatti's tool working with ReShade, so here are some shots from Dark Souls 3. I've already put over 300 hours into it...

That's how it is supposed to be.
If you follow the movement of the object ('focus' on the car), the surroundings get blurred, the acutal object will not. It's a common way to take pictures in motorsport.

Although I don't understand why every car is not affected by motion blur. Can't follow the movement of every car with one camera at the same time. :o

That's what I meant. Obviously you wouldn't want the car that's focused on to be blurred, but it'd be nice if the rest of them were. Alas, it's just a tiny nitpick - the game still looks great.

oh my god.

Thanks guys! FROM is responsible for 99% of the great look in that shot. Their art style is probably the best I've ever seen in any "serious" game. It's simply astonishing. My first playthrough had me literally dropping my jaw at certain points.

I does look nice sometimes, and honestly, I prefer this simpler visuals than the Project Cars with that super strong effects like unrealistic DOF and super shiny cars.

That's because the motion blur is locked to the camera movement, and not based on objects.

You're making me want to play this. Worth buying?

Hard to say, what's your stance on the old Tomb Raider games? If you haven't played them, they are heavily focused on traversal. You climb on walls and jump around to reach levers and buttons, occasionally falling to your death. The combat takes a backseat to the traversal and is also very simplified compared to what you see in modern tps games.
Don't expect cinematically scripted setpieces that explode around you while you shoot enemies, this game is not that. I personally prefer the old gameplay by far, not a fan of the reboot style.
