no, I've never heard of this "season 6"

It is canon. Jack really had a brother, father, sister in law, and a nephew in the show.

Thankfully 24 survived her appearance, the actress that plays her appears on a show.... and it gets axed soon after.

They tried real fucking hard in season 6 (and to be fair, it may well have been axed there and then, but after S5, Fox signed a deal for 3 more seasons, so were basically boxed in. They didn't renew after that, hah.)

I can't tell if you're trying to be funny or what. *shrugs*

Whatever the case. I'm not a fan of season 6 either. :lol

S6 is not THAT bad guys, c'mon... S4 on the other hand...
What? Season 4 is what got me into watching 24 as a series. The levels of escalation are absurd but compelling. When nuclear meltdowns are not even close to the endgame of your season your show is awesome. Plus we got classic scenes of Jack sliding down a hill with gun drawn, Air Force One, Mandy vs Curtis, Metal Gear Solid infiltrations and a hell of an ending (that also reintroduced a great threat that came back later). Oh and it reintroduced all our old favorites.

Only thing about S4 is that S6 didn't pay it off properly.

S4 started out pretty bad. I remember the quality or lack thereof really being jarring, especially during that train scene. But it rebounds quickly thereafter and becomes a solid season with amazing action. I'd say the action sequences in the final four episodes are some of the best in the series. And it has a great character moment for Jack at the end.

Counter-argument: It also had Behrooz, Dina and Audrey.
Counter-counter argument - it has Mandy, as well as three characters that would later become fan favourites: President Logan, Curtis and Bill Buchanan.

Anyone remember that CTU boss that left early cause her daughter committed suicide? Wow that actress got a raw deal.

Is that right? Wow, I'm learning a lot in this thread about actors who wanted off the show. Between her and the actor who played Curtis, this is all news to me.

I remember reading that the typical work day on "24" was like 14-16 hour days so I can see how it'd be stressful.

Eric Balfour / Milo wanted off the show too to film some TV pilot for CBS (which wasn't picked up - oops).

I always consider season 4 the "Die Hard" season. It was the first season they went non-stop and you could tell their budget got bigger. It's not my favorite, but it has a lot of magic and momentum to it.

Season 6 is what it is. If you can like it, God bless ya. I at one point tried to sit down and write fan-fiction for myself to fill in the plot holes. It was difficult. And my avatar got groceries.

24 is always at it's best, to me anyway, when there's an element of mystery. Season 4 lacks that mystery (things blow up x 20). Season 6 also really lacks that as well, but didn't have the cohesion of season 4.

That being said, the last 15 minutes of season 6 are fantastic and a good payoff.

I always thought a good way to shake up the shows settings was to have Jack go work with Aaron in a private security/contractor capacity (maybe that's what he was going to do at the start of season 8 back in L.A.).
