343 addresses ongoing Halo MCC Matchmaking issues

Hey it looks like everyone is going to get freebies though! Honestly this was a pretty well written apology and clear explanation of the issues. They even gave a timeline of "in the coming weeks". This is miles ahead of Sony and their 1st party that gives no timeline whatsoever. We're lucky when we even get a "soon".

Just take your time and play through the single player campaigns of 1-4. By the time you're done, the online issues will likely all be fixed.

you do realize the single player aspect of the mcc has major issues too right? as quiet a few posters here have pointed out. also from the look of things, those sp issues aren't gonna be dealt with any time soon.

It's actually made it worse. Matchmaking is still stupidly slow with uneven team bullshit and now I can't even back out of the post game carnage report.

This is beyond a joke now...

It's interesting that Drive Club has a rep of being a completely broken game, while Halo MCC gets away with having similar issues.

It's not really comparable, but I don't believe that's true. Look around, you'll see a lot of people referring to MCC as a broken ass game.

Double standards. That's why.

Can you link to these people who are ripping into DC but giving MCC a free pass or is this another case of you only seeing what you want to see?

To me now it's working, at least I am able to play BTB, it's still a little slow to find players and I have some errors issues sometime but it's ok definitely better.

The patch hasn't fixed everything, but at least I'm able to play some bits now, if albeit some of it can be unbalanced in regards to team numbers.

Will you give this kind of bashing a fucking rest?

I was referring to most of the gaming media. So far, I only see a few of them like Gamespot calling them out on it.

Will you give it a fucking rest? I'm talking about most of the gaming media.

Coming from a guy who owns only PS4 and DC, and pretty much will never get the Xbox One: stop comparing these two in terms of coverage, you sound like a badly biased fanboy.

DriveClub was positioned as an online-first experience, therefore when the only thing that the game was supposed to revolutionize doesn't work one-and-a-half months after launch it's a disaster.

I know that people really like Halo MP, but let's face it: the game has much more meat and single-player campaigns are largely bug-free. This is not the same level of failure.

Moreover, there's much less coverage of DC now and MCC still going strong, so both releases get their share of justified outrage. If you really are so vehement about the amount of rage against bugged releases, why don't you do a study: "hate for DC, MCC, AC:U, WD, Destiny - comparing the failures of 2014".

Not The Crew but its the same thing. Polygon rips Ubisoft apart, then throws in an "oh yeah, also Microsoft" at the bottom. And they're not the only one. Lots of outlets are making a huge deal about Unity's glitches but gloss over MCC being broken.

Tbh I think that the prime example of dual standard is LBP3, rather than DC.

The prime example will probably be something like the IGN reviews

LBP3: 6.8 "okay" (it gets 8.8 on PS3 amazingly enough) / Reason : Unimaginative Co-op and Bugs (unpatched version)

Halo MCC: 9 "Amazing" / Mentionned: "some" MP issues

Can't spell Ignominous without IGN...

Thank you all. Like I said earlier, if people don't like my opinions, they can easily fucking ignore them.

All they have to do like you three did, is being reasonable without going at my throat. Is that so fucking hard for them to do?!?

As a Halo n00b this patch has done wonders for team balancing. I can actually play and not come out with 0 kills each game which makes everything infinitely more enjoyable.

It did nothing for how janky lobbies of friends are though. At one point I was switched into what seemed to be someone else's private lobby. Backing out of that I was switched to the lobby with my friends but they couldn't see me. SMH

Halfway through halo 4 and already beat 1-3. Encountered a few tiny bugs but nothing major or that stands out from basically every video game.

I played through Halo 1 and 2, had lots of instances where checkpoints weren't saved between play sessions and I had to replay huge chunks of levels. Also a good number of hard locks, also causing me to replay a level from the beginning. Check the MCC OT, lots of other people have the same campaign issues.

Is there a way to know if the patch was applied to the game?

My friend claims he downloaded it, but sees absolutely no difference... and I wanted to tell him how to check to see if the patch was applied.

I know on the PS4, you just hit the option button and then "Check Update History." Is there something like that on XBO?

mmhmm

Please go cross-reference the names of participants in both of the online clusterfuck threads for DriveClub and MCC. If you can provide, I dunno...5 names of posters who are giving MS a pass while railing on Sony, then you can skate. You've got until 4 PM Pacific.

I apologize, bishoptl. I was only going off of what Delusibeta said earlier.

I haven't noticed many threads in here and other forums complaining about it, nor any articles in the gaming press, while Drive Club recieved plenty of both.

Gotta love this. That's midnight tonight. *subscribed to this thread

BIG improvement. Getting into matches easily and I'm not being booted out anymore when matches are done. Plus the teams are even/balanced now.

Can't believe they actually got this working before the "deadline" (Black Friday in my opinion). There are still some issues/quirks but you can finally easily play multiplayer now (at least on my end).

Good to hear, gonna check it out later tonight.

Willing to say I played anywhere between 15-20 MM BTB battle games with a party of 3. Didn't have to quit/restart the Xbox nearly as much as we have had to in the past.

We are making progress!

Well I was able to get into a game of H2A around 30 seconds today. 4v4. Match played smooth no issues. After that was finished I actually stayed in a lobby for the next match. This has yet to happen for me. Got another 4v4 game but half way through I don't know if it was the enemy team quit of because of being dominated or it kicked them out but it became 4v1. Had to call it quits after to go to thanksgiving but hopefully its signs of a improvement.

The patch made it worse for me. I used to be able to find games fine, but last night I spent about an hour trying searches with no results.

Matchmakkng is working pretty well for me. I used to have to quit out after a match but now I can sit in the lobby with people I just played with.

I'm wondering if that was just due to many people not having the patch yet.

I've been finding games easily. Amazed that I'm actually staying inside the lobby after matches and not getting booted back to the find game screen. Happened to me all the time before this patch.

I got into a couple even-team games of H2 Classic last night, but connection quality, which had previously been perfect, was pretty bad. I had yellow bars the entire time and it was super noticeable. Could be a coincidence and not related to the patch but who knows.

The patch made MM a lot faster(though still too long by normal standards) and constantly has lopsided teams. I had one evenly matched one out of 10 games. Also still had a menu getting stuck on the UI and lobbies getting trapped in an infinite loop of preparing.

The game is still kind of a dumpster fire to me.
