I returned a lite back when they came out because of a yellow screen. Shouldn't be a problem to do it now.
Solatorobo is pretty good! But it's out in every region now.

Just checked the video and the guy says, as I suspected, that almost no one knew he was coming, maybe not even Nintendo France. That would explain why he basically didn't do anything, the guys at the stage didn't seem to know what to do. I think I heard "out of time", and since Paris's International Airport is really close to the Parc des Expositions, maybe he just dropped on the way to somewhere else...

I'm hoping there will be demo units popping up before the NA launch. We'll also have a lot of first hand reports when it releases in JPN and PAL in a couple of weeks.
I wonder if it's possible the larger screen just results in a more comfortable sweet spot to some people? So they feel it's "bigger" because now they're holding it at a place they're more comfortable playing whereas for those who were satisfied before or it's arbitrary it seems the same as before.
For me, it felt better. Could just be a placebo effect. Who knows.
Will post impressions later.

Man, really can't decide between day 1 red 3DS XL or holding out for some new colors/bundles.
I already own the zelda 3DS with a nyko power grip, so an XL is hardly mandatory, but on the other hand
dem screens.
the d-pad also looks quite a bit better, both in placement and size, which would be nice for VC games and other 2d titles where I prefer using the d-pad.

It's a really good tech site overall but they have a bad habit of bringing up iDevices in every single smartphone/tablet review to give you an example of what he's talking about.
Once they've decided something is the holy grail of whatever category of device it falls under they feel that they have a duty to compare every other device to it in their reviews.

Not so much unfair as it is annoying but you take the good with the bad with Engadget since they do get a lot of tech news before their competition.
I think it's more the context of their comparison that has people confused.
That is frustrating but if it's comparable to the DSiXL I can deal with it.
Given the PPI I think it's going to be closer to the DSi actually.

From what Ive read the BC is perfect on 3ds and the screen matches exactly what it would look like on dsi.
Yeah jaggies are noticable if you stare, but according to most sources the difference is negligable and in some cases the game looks better because of sprite smoothing filters
I think things should be reviewed on there own merrit and not compared to something else

That's kind of pushing it really. I know that Nintendo isn't having an easy time keeping the 3DS/3DSXL profitable but I wish that they'd cut corners with something other than the displays.
well... higher resolution would do nothing if the hardware can't support it. Sadly some vita games are the best example of that. Resolution seems sufficent given it's size.
my monitor has like 92ppi? and I am as close as I'd be with a handheld, and I can see any pixel.
On the other hand, I think all that retina display hype has gone way to far, so I am probably not the most objectiv critic when it comes to ppi.
