Are these systems region locked all across the board?
Yes, absolutely.
Are these systems region locked all across the board?
Unfortunately. Are these systems region locked all across the board?
Well, the good thing is that DS Games from all regions will work on the 3DS XL.
Not all.
DSi enhanced games, apart from Pokemon IIRC, won't.
Not all, DSi enhanced games, apart from Pokemon IIRC, won't.
My friend has a yellowed Zelda 3DS and even with power save off it looked yellow compared to my launch 3DS. It is a screen problem.
I wonder if they would cover a refund or replacement in such a case
all 5 of them
EDIT:
ok, there are like 30 but most of them are shite no one wants to play anyways
Probably not worthing a new thread but Iwata was spotted at Paris Japan Expo this saturday ( http://www.jeuxactu.com/satoru-iwata-a-la-japan-expo-2012-en-video-81794.htm ).
The 3DSXL was showcased for the first time to the public there so maybe that's why he went here. My bad I didn't go this year :/
This is a terribly stupid question, and I can't seem to find a good thread to post it in. So sorry for the off-topic question: is there a good reason amazon does not have 3ds xl preorder?
Amazon and Nintendo have bad blood because Amazon tried to start their own portable video game console and tried to hire Miyamoto away.

Can you preorder this at all, other than gamestop? Amazon doesn't have, most online retailers don't have it up either.
And Game. They got them in yesterday. Some Blockbuster (UK) stores got their demo units in today.
Haven't managed to get down to my local to see if they have one yet, though.
I don't get the rush to preorder this. It's not like they're going to run out or anything
I'd appreciate it if someone could answer this, as I've been wondering the same thing.
Engadget review up: http://www.engadget.com/2012/07/10/nintendo-3ds-xl-review/
"The bigger screen makes 3D gaming less tiring, and offers a larger sweet spot for Nintendo's all-important gaming effect..."
Don't know what to think anymore regarding the sweet spot issue, so many conflicting reports.
I wonder if it's possible the larger screen just results in a more comfortable sweet spot to some people? So they feel it's "bigger" because now they're holding it at a place they're more comfortable playing whereas for those who were satisfied before or it's arbitrary it seems the same as before.

Man, really can't decide between day 1 red 3DS XL or holding out for some new colors/bundles.
I already own the zelda 3DS with a nyko power grip, so an XL is hardly mandatory, but on the other hand
dem screens.
the d-pad also looks quite a bit better, both in placement and size, which would be nice for VC games and other 2d titles where I prefer using the d-pad.
hmm.
it is better
i dont get why bring up vita though...........and the second stick was never going to happen
and no test of Bc
engadget is just being engadget
not sure what that means, I dont go there alot
It's a really good tech site overall but they have a bad habit of bringing up iDevices in every single smartphone/tablet review to give you an example of what he's talking about.
Once they've decided something is the holy grail of whatever category of device it falls under they feel that they have a duty to compare every other device to it in their reviews.
engadget said Nintendo told them not to take close up Jaggies are much more noticeable reviewer said.
Not so much unfair as it is annoying but you take the good with the bad with Engadget since they do get a lot of tech news before their competition.oh
I think thats unfair.
I think it's more the context of their comparison that has people confused. They bring up Vita because its a competitor and offers controls that have been standard since 2000. I dont get why the confusion...
That is frustrating but if it's comparable to the DSiXL I can deal with it.engadget said Nintendo told them not to take close up screenshots. Jaggies are much more noticeable reviewer said (obviously).
Given the PPI I think it's going to be closer to the DSi actually. That is frustrating but if it's comparable to the DSiXL I can deal with it.
I'm hoping there will be a trade up deal from the regular 3DS -> XL like Gamestop offers for DS, DSi, etc. up to 3DS right now. Is that probably a pretty good bet?
Given the PPI I think it's going to be closer to the DSi actually.
That's kind of pushing it really. I know that Nintendo isn't having an easy time keeping the 3DS/3DSXL profitable but I wish that they'd cut corners with something other than the displays.
