3rd Person Metriod

After playing a bit of Snake Eater I can't help but wonder what could be as far as story telling and cinematics in the metroid universe. The Prime games are masterpieces in so many ways, but there are a lot of opportunities for storytelling that seem under developed in these games.
The perspective and controls are perfect. Although, after playing Metal Arms I have always wondered why more games don't use tthat style, a bit different from Primes,in the 3rd person.

I wouldn't mind a 3rd person Metroid. I know there was a time when I thought it was awful that the Metroid series was going first person. Nintendo could pull off a good move to a behind the shoulder view,I doubt they'll do that now though. It'd probably make them look as if they weren't confident with the way the current game plays.

The only thing that bothers me about the current state of the Metroid games would be that backtraking in first person becomes more of a tedious chore in this perspective.

But then you also have more atmosphere with the first person view,so take the good with the bad I suppose.

Aside from the questionably difficult-to-get-used-to jetpack controls, I always thought that GunValkyrie (Sega-XBOX) was perfect for a proper third person 3D Metroid title, if played in the same way. The camera behaved well, and the game felt like Metroid, even if it didn't really share the same design template. The overall visual design was extremely reminiscent of Metroid...and looks remarkably similar to the eventual look of MP.

I don't get how people could say Prime 1 and 2 don't feel like Metroid games? They basically use the same design and even most of Samus's trademark moves are in the game. I guess everyone wants a OoT ripoff with the Metroid universe.

Thanks. Hopefully Bittorrent has some episodes I can check out. :)
The first dvds are out, it's released as Fighting Spirit in the US. Don't steal it and go buy the DVDs. One of (if not) the best sport anime ever.
