Resident Evil Requiem - hand on previews (1st and 3rd person perspective option confirmed)

Yuuup! So many people don't even know Outbreak exists, and there have been people loving it and wishing there was more of it for decades. So, while this isn't Outbreak, it's certainly neat to finally see them give it some kind of recognition.

I thought it was especially interesting that people have theorized there being a canonical scenario where Alyssa cured herself of the T-virus (like you could at the end of the game), and then later gave birth somehow carrying those properties into Grace's blood. I think it's a totally believeable scenario.
Would factor into the Chosen One story snippets we have. Might end up being a RE Metroidvania of sorts and you unlock abilities as you progress through the game. Feel like they kinda played with the idea in the Rose DLC in RE8.

What's the point of doing a preview event for press and not provide any gameplay footage at all?
I'd wish that in this day and age of very high speed internet and online connected consoles publishers just did demos for all. They anyway make the demo for hands-on previews for press

The cutie patootie main char needs to be seen at all times.
My only concern is for levels designed with jump scares and alien isolation-esque hide and seek. Would the immersion be lost in 3rd person? I'm willing to reserve the cutie for cutscenes if it makes the gameplay better in those circumstances (probably why they are recommending first person). Don't know... I'm torn! I really hope they have a "default" toggle that switches to whatever they think is best. If I can tolerate the switching just to see Indy swinging around, I'm sure it shouldn't be too jarring if they implement both modes well.

Its seems character models much more stylized especially compare to RE7 which more realistic face.

I'm actually very happy about that.

Not sold on the whole this section is recommended in first person mode, so head to the menu and change it.

Should be a quick change, not a cumbersome one.
I think all game is recomended in first person, on final builds It ll prob have a disclamer "best in first person" like those "best played with controller".

The game offers its recommendation on preferable perspective depending on situation, it seems.
I doubt that in the final version we ll have a "preferable perspective" every single section, It would be really hard to balance, they prob went first perso focus since It is the standard option.

If the game has the heavily hinted action portion with Leon, I think it's a safe bet they'll want it to mimic RE4make, the last game with Leon, which is their fastest selling RE title.

I have a bit of an issue with the choice in that it means the game is not fully tailored for either one style.

i know this, they have to focus on ONE and make a option for the second, it would be real immersion break to been swapping between first and third person every time there an action on screen or every time you play a different character, also, despite RE4R been the fast selling RE game for obvious reasons RE8 handled very well all action section in the game and there is no shortage of them in RE8.

I hope that the quality of third person is on par with the remakes. Evil Within 2s first person worked for the most part so something similar to that third and first person split might be decent. Keeping in mind we have heard over and over again that the budget for this was massive so I bet they have had the time and money to do it right.

I didn't made it there I turn off the move half way through.

At very least those awful Hollywood Resident Evil were mindless entertainment.

It's a terrible film, at least it had a batshit insane fight at the end with some of the dumbest choreography I have seen.

Can you control the third person camera like re remake 2-4 ? I don't want fixed third person camera like Village

I just couldn't sit through those terrible dialogues and story......I'm just gonna pretend this movie doesn't exist and I didn't watch anything.

Fkn awful. They almost all are, except for Damnation. Degeneration is just OK. Vendetta is the worst, and Infinite Darkness isn't far behind. Death Island was mid.

So far, they are like 1.6 for 5. Still better than the Anderson movies though

I'd love something like the beginning hour demo, but the cats out of the bag. I love it when they slowly build tension and the reveal isn't just thrown in. Either way day 1 for me.

Glad to see both options in, FPS isn't a deal breaker for me but would definitely prefer third person and good to see it's third person quality is more like RE2R to RE4R.

I love the screenshots as well as stalker enemies and always wanted MR.X to cover more areas in the RPG. My dream stalker would be RE9 having a even bigger area than RE2R's RPG and this stalker could actually go to more areas.

I do hope the part where we can't fight back and only hide is a very small part of the game since I like having to fight back in RE games against both the stalker as well as normal enemies.

The sweat tech and her hair is too nice to not have a third person mode. Plus the coomers would be livid(me).

It represents the E3 of old where people who actually paid for tickets and visited the venue actually managed to see something exclusive or behind the scenes before anyone else. Same with exclusive gameplay (as I heard Pragmata was playable)

I don't mind this tradition.

Yeah but there are RE fans all over the Globe and not everyone can afford to travel there to get a peek.

All this secrecy makes sense till to the point of the actual reveal which already happened. After that everyone should get a better look or a demo to experience it.

I don't understand why devs still treat videogames as something sacred, it's just frustrating and unfair for all the people who supported them since the beginning of the series.

Eh…just give it a few months and you'll see the gameplay footage of all 3 Capcom demos posted on youtube.

It's really not that big of a deal nor that big of a wait.

I know, but the re fan inside me struggles. When it comes to this franchise, I react to it the same way like I would about women. My brain shuts off and the only vital organ that works is the steel pipe. I can't help it.

That Suzi youtuber is a damned detective.

Possible spoilers for anyone wanting to go in dark.

Practically working as an investigative journalist here, I'm 6 mins in and she's delivering facts and insights I haven't seen in any other of the game previews, thanks for sharing.

You can tell they watched John Wick before animating.

This is biggest reason why I dont mind playing as new characters, At this point old character like Chris and Leo are just one man army, it hard trying be scared for them.
