RE used to be my favorite series but I may be out on this one. I loathe the lean towards western horror ala Outlast and Alien Isolation. I know RE2 and 3 had their fair share of stalker baddies, but 2 was great regardless and 3 was only mid for me. I do hope its great though and may still check it out. But skulking around from some boogeyman is annoying to me.

I would like for them to pick a lane on the perspective. A game designed around both is designed for neither. Go try to play RE8 in 3rd person and tell me it works.

Because 3rd person update RE8 was after thought but here they are designing RE9 for 1st and 3rd person perspective in mind.

It's being tailored for both. Sphere Hunter said it's going to be RE4R quality. Probably should reserve judgment until game release yeah?

Not to mention you can pick what's optimal for the current situation or have an all 1st person or all 3rd person playthrough. This adds replayability.

Not sure what the fuss is about.

It will likely be just a small part of the game.

Majority of survival horror games has it, Silent Hill, Evil Within heck even Dead Space.

With type of enemies when it done well can give you huge satisfaction when you eventually confront them and beat them.

It's not too long to be fair until August comes around, so people here can get a better impression how things play out. I am feeling pretty excited and optimistic with Requiem and that the team will knock it out of the park!

I'd hope so, but even if its a small segment, like the Dollhouse baby bit in Village or anything like 7 then I'm not going to buy it. Village is overall a good game but having to slog through that section is such a buzzkill for me. Even Lady D was annoying. Not scary just annoying. I don't want to play hide and go seek in Resident Evil.

Plus I'm not keen on the look of Requiem at all. Doesn't look attractive in the slightest. Its off-putting. I'm much more interested in Silent Hill f. I really wish we'd be graced by another Fatal Frame.
