This isn't "basic math" so much as remembering and applying a standard of how we write equations. Hope this helps.
The numbes are not bold or otherwise marked as vectors and you can't do a cross product on plain numbers only 3 dimensional vectors so no twist.Twist: the x is a cross product not multiplication.
