80s style synth-pop/electro synth/cyberpunk music

My Waveshaper LP arrived and it's pristine, love it.

Sadly only two tracks on this, both are great however.

iamMANOLIS's sound is really quite rich, with lots of nice squishy bass and good pacing. Definitely in the "upbeat" range of the Synthwave spectrum.

If you like it and haven't listened to his album Dayte definitely give it a listen.

Here's a new EP you guys might want to give a listen:

Tracklist:

1. Time for Us
2. Eternal Infernal Dance
3. Flesh Steel Burn
4. Black Rose Driver

Bandcamp link: http://louisviallet.bandcamp.com/album/ultra-legend

The first two tracks have a powerful Carpenter Brut-like vibe, but with more than enough identity of their own to make them stand out in a sea of synthwave music. Track three is an atmospheric, downtempo tune that evokes a moody cyberpunk scene. Track four has a long, slow buildup before it turns into an upbeat kaleidoscope of synthy goodness.

All in all a varied, well-produced EP!

Really interesting style that this guy has. I can hear mainly Brut and Vangelis, it is quite the combination.

I've never bought anything off Bandcamp. I'm guessing that the digital album can't be used with my iTunes huh?

Thanks for sharing. Today has been so dope for synthwave stuff for me. Furi came out, I bought Brigador (Makeup and Vanity OST), and Louis Viallet is sounding super promising too.

It's a fabricated story with artists using aliases :D

Another good example of this is Kosmischer Läufer.

For the first time since it was recorded in East Berlin over 30 years ago the music of Martin Zeichnete can finally be heard.
A disciple of the Kosmische Muzik of the likes of Kraftwerk, Can and Neu! that was drifting across the Wall from the West, Martin's idea of using the motorik, hypnotic beat of krautrock in the training of athletes was taken and exploited by the DDR's Olympic Committee

This stuff is fantastic. So happy I picked up Volume Two and I hope Volume Three gets a reprint soon.

Raydar - Neon Graffiti

This album just came out a few days ago. Reminds me a lot of Justice in places, though personally I find the glitch thing a little too abrasive. Thought I'd share it here though.

How is Furi the game? I'm not sold on it based on the footage I've seen.

But man... that soundtrack. Would love for the game to hook me like Hotline Miami did and form another perfect symbiosis of synthwave and gameplay...

It's solid, I quite enjoy it. I don't think it's as good as HM (but that's my favourite game of all time) but it's well worth a go. If you are on PC, you can always refund it if you don't like it.

if you like Metal Gear Rising it's pretty much the same :D The soundtrack is also dynamic so it changes during the matches quite nicely. And looking at someone play it is different than struggling on it yourself. Definitely worth the buy even if just to support the creators.
