In the Top100 most played games on steam you have #28COD and #62Overwatch2, both games technically Microsoft but most people doesn't situate MS for their success.
And #72ForzaHorizon5. that is 3 games for the biggest publisher in gaming.

That is actually what companies do though. Once market reaches saturation point for products they raise the price. They have given up on increasing the userbase and instead want to earn more per user in order to increase revenue and profits. It doesn't matter if the user base decreases as long as the total revenue and profits increase. You can see iphone or netflix as examples.Microsoft is like "our consoles have failed in sales, our published games are mediocre and our gamepass service has been stagnant in users for years... what do we do?" Good question. So it's not free?

I already discussed in this thread. They have 7 titles in top 100. Despite of that you still mentioned only top 10.Yep. People are delulu if they think Microsoft dominates any chart, especially with a game that they made (not bought), on Steam.
Nowvaibhavpisal would go all quiet, leave laughing emojis, and then popup in another thread trying to defend the $3 trillion corporation

Thats how fast steam charts move. They had a few games much higher some time ago. Now new titles have released and have taken the spot.![]()

Sorry to burst your bubble but you need to scroll down to number 33 to find the first title owned by Microsoft and the current total player count for their games in the top 100 combined amounts to about 80k.

I should've been clearer, I meant most no of spots in top 100.7 Titles that when combined wouldn't even break into the top 20 most played.
So not even close to the most played publisher.
I think its safe to say the majority of titles MS have published post acquisition(s) have underwhelmed in one way or another.I should've been clearer, I meant most no of spots in top 100.
Like, when I scroll down their top 100, I see plenty of MS titles.
And I was responding to someone who was claiming to be a failure. Which they clearly are not.
So they have lots of average games, none of which even come close to the top 10 or top 20 games on Steam.I should've been clearer, I meant most no of spots in top 100.

It is for gamepass "aint buying games no more" gamers.....I think its safe to say the majority of titles MS have published post acquisition(s) have underwhelmed in one way or another.
Probably only FH is the only roaring success in recent memory. Maybe Sea of Thieves as well it could be argued.
They need to step up and stop releasing 7's and 8's and give us some 9's and 10's.
Good enough just isn't good enough I'm afraid.
Nah its MS's problem. That why the service isn't growing, the hardware isnt selling and their games languish towards the lower end of steam ccu charts. It is for gamepass "aint buying games no more" gamers.....
... and thats the problem
Do you see masterpieces on netflix and primevid ? Or just the avg mid thing ? ... its exactly the same thing.... When your focus is om quantity to fill a service.. 5 - 7s is better than 1-10. .Nah its MS's problem. The games just aren't good enough. Thats the reason my GP has lapsed and the xbox hasn't been turned on in over a year.
Dooms looking to be about the best thing this year and thats over and done in about ten hours.
Shill scripts need to be circulated first to damage control.Just drop the news Phil!!. The meltdowns are going to be glorious.
Check properly. There is more. Skyrim, AOE, Fallout, ESO.
A lot more keep coming and going.
No other single publisher has that many.
Game subscription is a completely different beast imo.Do you see masterpieces on netflix and primevid ? Or just the avg mid thing ? ... its exactly the same thing.... When your focus is om quantity to fill a service.. 5 - 7s is better than 1-10. .
I dont think they are worried with 10s.
I completely agree and thats why for me is a failed strategy that lead xbox to third party and exit of the hardware race. Its all they have now and so are holding on it waiting for times to catch up with their genius planGame subscription is a completely different beast imo.
I recently let my 3-4 year sub lapse for example, as I simply dont want to/don't have time to play most of the bang average shit they put out.
or $20.00 Gamepass. I did the math for myself one time and if I add up all the subscription services I use for gaming, EA, Gamepass, and UBISOFT it was still less a year than buying 5 games or close to it. For people who like variety there is value in these services. If you a single game person maybe not so much.$80 retail games….

Some of you would really come up with the weirdest metrics, just to fit the narrative and even fail at those.
Console sales don't matter. Game sales don't matter. But how many games are in the top 100 (not top 10 or 20) on Steam determines if a company is successful or not lol.
Yes, they are MS games now, though. Most of those older titles had the bulk of their sales figures before Microsoft bought the parent companies. They're making money on the monthly sub for ESO, and remasters are profitable for sure. But let's not try to put all the success of Skyrim and Fallout in the Microsoft bucket. There's a reason they paid $7.5 Billion for Bethesda.
I would say I played some high quality, unique games on their sub service:Do you see masterpieces on netflix and primevid ? Or just the avg mid thing ? ... its exactly the same thing.... When your focus is om quantity to fill a service.. 5 - 7s is better than 1-10. .

Exactly the point. We knew Game Pass prices would increase when we saw the $80 price tag on Outer Worlds 2. Seeing a new notification referencing it is not a surprise.or $20.00 Gamepass.
