MrAngryFace said:Im getting SM64 from a friend so thats a no brainer, plus the nostalgia I have for that game is immense. I WAS a fan of the n64 right when it came out you know![]()
Ford Prefect said:SM64 just didn't control well at all on the original DS, thumbstrap or no, but with the DSL's d-pad, I'm wishing I hadn't sold it![]()
MrAngryFace said:I was surprised how cheap the ds lite was.
Ford Prefect said:but with the DSL's d-pad
Ford Prefect said:SM64 just didn't control well at all on the original DS, thumbstrap...
PkunkFury said:I also enjoyed using the thumbstrap, and can't believe some people got through M64 with the d-pad. The d-pad works terrible. Only problem with the thumbstrap was it made the 180 sideways flip next to impossible (which is unfortunately my favorite move in Mario 64) but thumbstrap worked well enough to play through the game for all of the added content. I wish Nintendo would make more games that use the thumbstrap to control 3D characters, just not characterrs that need to jump precisely. Something like a 3D Zelda maybe.
dysonEA said:couldnt jump all that well? ... really? ... I was able to get it down pretty accuratly! making jumps with the thumbstrap was one of my favorite things about it .... agreed though, more games need to use it.
I do the DS case thing.MrAngryFace said:how do you guys store your gba games n such I have em strewn across my desk
Definitely not compelling, obviously tacked on to make use of the touch-screen. But they showed you which symbol you had to draw as you entered the door to face the boss and gave you all the time you need to start it so it didn't break the game or make it much less enjoyable.FlyinJ said:Castlevania DS was a fantastic game, that got crapped all over by the ridiculously stupid design decision to make you memorize some symbol then quickly squiggle it out after killing a boss.
I can't tell you how many times I killed a boss then messed up the symbol. What kind of a hairbraned idea was that anyhow. Did anyone find that to be compelling, or even passable gameplay?

PkunkFury said:couldn't do the 180 side flip jump, which I'm used to using to turn forward momentem into backward momentem when approaching the edge of a platform. Like I say, I thought it worked fine otherwise, and the smooth framerate almost made up for the slightly more difficult controls.
platypotamus said:Have you played it multiplayer? There was a solid month or two where several of my coworkers and I would play four player battles during lunch every day. I think the only DS game we muliplayed more was Mario Kart.
demi said:rofl, FlyinJ is dyslexic, the drawing thing occurs at only the boss battles and it takes a second to do -- not to mention the symbols are ridiculously easy to memorize... yeah, he's dyslexic i.e. tarded
I bought DS game cases from Nintendo's online store and did this.MrAngryFace said:how do you guys store your gba games n such I have em strewn across my desk
The koopa suit sucks. It kills you dead fast.MrAngryFace said:Holy shit **** fire flower, Koopa Suit FTW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love the music omg
I don't know, you might lose a game cart having them just laying around and end up selling the box and instructions and only find the cart months later in your grandmother's car.demi said:It's a waste

But it's fun to kill ghosts with it.AniHawk said:The koopa suit sucks. It kills you dead fast.

What, this is the best idea ever. Anyone know where to get empty cases in the UK?Fuzzy said:BTW the cases cost me $11 CAD + tax + $5 CAD shipping for 15 of them. I should've gotten more since I now have 19 games (I had 9 when I bought the cases).![]()
dysonEA said:If you dont have a thumb strap ... GET ONE FOR MARIO 64 DS! I found the controls to work amazingly well with it. I beat the game and got 120 + stars using that thing. I wish more games took advantage of it. I actually ordered a brand new strap just for my light, looks pretty hott on it too!.
