Bandai Namco has announced that Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown has sold six million units worldwide. The title was confirmed to have sold five million units back in November 2023.

For comparison, according to Wikipedia, the next best selling game is 1995’s Air Combat with 2.23 million sold

Glad to see Ace Combat finally get mainstream success, 7 is by far the best in the series

Namco’s games have never done well on Xbox, so I can see why they didn’t do the best job with it.

As for the “if only”, it’s the best selling Ace Combat by far!

There's a VR mode for PSVR. I used to play it quite a bit when I had my PS4 installed. Absolutely incredible.

I didnt play all the AC games. Looking at the franchise list, I only played AC2, 4, 5, 6, Horizon and just dabbled a touch in AC7 But I think AC4 is the best too.

That Horizon one was dog shit. I think there were some shit helicopter mission, and a total AC-130 copy of COD4. Only difference was it had a purple-ish hue vs COD4 greenish night vision look.

I just hope with a possible sequel with get save points mid game during the gameplay as some of the missions went on too long

It's not, but at the same time it's really odd that such a successful game hasn't had a modern console port or even a patch to improve things. Even the PS4 pro support was mediocre if I remember correctly with barely any improvements.

AC7 is still the worst of the modern AC bunch.
4, 5, Zero, 6 are all far better games.

With those sales numbers for AC7, its simply unbelievable they never made a modern HD collection of the older titles.
Especially considering how long 8 is taking to develop.

They did AC5 remastered if you preordered 7, but no other way to obtain it. I would kill for an AC0 remaster or a complete AC4 Remake. 6 I have to wonder if it’s stuck on 360 for good.

Banger of a game. I loved the series on PS2 and pretty much forgot it existed until a thread about this game being on sale on Steam. Bought it, Project Wingman as well, and am hoping we get more and more AC and AC-like content on Steam in the near future!

(Also, we need to strip assassin's creed of its "AC" moniker and give it back to the king)
