Does anyone have comparison pictures of the Movie Realizations Star Wars (Historic Japan) line compared to Figuarts Star Wars? Or, if not pictures, does anyone know how the sizes compare?

I had wanted to limit my Star Wars figure collecting to the Figuarts line, but those Movie Realizations figures are irresistible. I just want to know how they will look if displayed together on the same shelf.

Going by the newer Vader, it is a bigger figure. Much sturdier than regular SHF with really good detail (his mech arm is beautiful). They're more just poseable figures rather than SHF's highly articulated angle.

I'm not a huge Sw fan but honestly, the Realizations Vader is really nice.

They're bigger figures with less articulation and better sculpting. They don't scale at all with each other so if that was your goal I personally don't think it'll work. I'll post some pics of the Vaders tonight.

Thanks. I'll just plan to display them on different shelves if I do end up picking up one or more of them.

Very happy with it.

quick question. I just received him today to. how do you put the metal hooks on the back to have him angled like that ?

I just put the hooks under his balls. don't really know if their is an actual way of mounting it,

The way mine is angled, I lift up on the hooks, pinch them together, and the push them down with the figure so they fall where they need to be.

CDJapan sold out but AmiAmi now has SHF Phasma in stock again. Guess they made more. Good news for anyone who still wants her.

I submitted a cancellation request with CDJapan and reordered with AmiAmi. Wanna save on shipping by choosing Registered Mail.

Did I miss the realization sand trooper and royal guard on the Japanese sites? I only see them on BBTS and the guard is sold out.

They are one of those annoying Bandai store exclusive IIRC. And therefore only few specialist stores like Nippon Yassan and BBTS take preorders.

In other news, my Chogokin x S.H.Figuarts' Hulkbuster has arrived. A nice surprise since I've had a lousy week. He's just awesome. Glad I got him since he's a middle ground between other figures and the expensive Hot Toys version.

Are there any good (cheaper) bookcase lighting ideas you guys know about? I have my blu-ray collection sharing the same case with my figures...but it's very dark looking in.

Where'd you order him from? Might bite instead of dumping $900 into HT's.

Nippon-Yassan. But Holy Shit......I just checked and they highjacked the price now.

Back when it was in pre-order state and it only cost me 32,500 Yen. They now highjack the price and it's 51,000. No wonder someone was shocked the other day when I mentioned that I ordered him. Uhm yeah, back then the price wasn't that crazy. It was basically around the same price as most Hot Toys.

But apparently Tamashii Web Shop is preparing for a 2nd batch release and they are taking orders. If you can find another shop that isn't charging arms and legs, you could get in. The figure is fantastic by the way. Very heavy because it's partly made of Die-Cast metal. It's just sturdy all around.

Here's a review of someone else's figure:

Oh yeah. Nippon-Yasan aftermarket pricing is straight-up bananas. The Phat Company Bayonetta figure that came out a ways back cost about 12,000 JPY at release. N-Y is now selling it for just shy of 70k.

They, and Nin-nin have a knack for increasing prices after initial sell out, which is why you need to grab the early bird pre-orders in most cases. They increased the price for SHF Awakening Goku, but decreased slightly with another restock of it about a week later (but still higher than their initial price), though price will still remain higher than any reissue.

I ordered my Hulk Buster for around 40k Yen including the shipping cost from Nin-Nin. It works out slightly more than NY (slightly) but the points in return are just far superior. NY's point system is just terrible, despite an otherwise decent site (I still swear that NY and Nin-nin are the same company...). Actually, another benefit to using Nin-Nin now would be the pay later, which is no longer applied to Bandai Exclusive figures through NY, but Nin-Nin have a delayed payment (it's not pay on shipment, just...later...when they feel like charging before shipment bizarrely)

Another very recent example of price increasing - SHF Minato. NY sold out for a while. NN increase price (because they can). NY had extra stock this week, but with an increased price that was around NN's. So yeah, if you feel a figure will sell out before launch, then pre-order it or wait for a reissue (of the regular figures), or wait for the price increase if orders reopen. Sort of learnt the hard way.

Then you have cases like Ultimate Gohan. I expected that to be not too common after release, but turns out it actually went on sale at NY.

Anyway, really looking forward to receiving Hulkbuster this week, I hope. Actually, more excited for Minato!

Nah. I don't care about rewards point. I'm more concerned about reliability and accountability and Nin-Nin SUCKS at it. I mean SUCK BIG TIME at it.

I'd NEVER EVER shop at Nin-Nin again after almost getting heart attack on two separate occasions since they couldn't confirm if they can get the limited edition items they claimed they have. Also, it takes FOREVER for them to respond to email and even longer to ship your item. In the mean time, there's a likelihood that the LE item you want already sold out elsewhere. But you can't cancel because they'll take out like 10% of your pre-order fee otherwise.

I and other people have advised against using Nin-Nin. Both them and NY do charge the aftermarket price ridiculously. But at least for pre-order, Nippon-Yassan is reliable, usually cheaper, and I know the items I order I will get. I can't say the same about Nin-Nin. Also Nippon-Yassan does this relentless email communication when a product will have extended delay from the manufacturer, which I got zilch from Nin-Nin. It's always nice to be informed of manufacturer's delay instead of having to ask for it and receiving no answer.

In an ideal world, I'd have gone with BBTS but they usually have limited stocks and run out quickly unless I was quick.

Unsure how I feel about that Quicksilver hot toy. But this will be his only figure so....

I liked his bit in the movie

And this one is actually pretty affordable, only about $140. With GMK coming this month, and Gigan next month, I wasn't sure if I could swing the 54. But that price makes it totally doable.

Oh damn. That's not too bad at all. I'm going to very seriously consider this one. I absolutely love it.
Edit: Just found out it comes with a super rad base as well! (Another edit: That base might be an exclusive to this certain site that I guess you need to use a mail forwarding service for? Dunno)
Third Edit: Okay... So I'm placing my pre-order. I may cancel it still, but I'll probably go through with it. One of my biggest concerns is how much will the SAL/Air Parcel shipping likely be through AmiAmi? I've never ordered from them before. If it'is too outrageous, I may cancel my pre-order. Dunno. It is an incredibly badass statue and it's a foot tall! That's pretty massive. Especially for "just" $145-ish.

Also, which Gigan are you talking about? Is that a Monsterarts release I hadn't heard of or is it another X-Plus?

And regarding GMK, I'm so so so excited for GMK. Soooo excited.

Oh man! I totally forgot that there was a Figuarts Pikachu coming out! I so need that.

This is pretty much everyone's hope. It usually never turns out this way.

Last year wasn't too bad for me, though. But there are a few pieces I'm really hoping to see some updates on.

True heh, but with Marth, Sherlock Hound, Snow Miku, and hopefully Samus (or maybe I won't mind if she takes longer lol, but it long over due), I really want to keep anything else to a minimum for this year, so gotta do some resisting!

The rest of the second Civil War wave has leaked:

MCU
Gi
Ant-Man BAF confirmed, alongside Nick Fury and Red Guardian. The crazy part? Nick Fury has a goddamn Dirk Anger alternate head.

Someone calling shots at Hasbro's Marvel division is an amazing lunatic, deserving of the highest praise.

Meanwhile, Wave 3 is apparently:

King Cobra
Tigra
The Iron Skull
Captain America (Age of X)
Captain Britain
Crossbones
Scarlet Witch (MCU, was apparently on-display at that closed doors/no photos con last week)

Have you watched the Super Sonico anime? Your answer is in there.

I didn't make it beyond episode 3.

never saw that but I can understand why Sonico show sucks. her figures are nothing but cheesecake. but Miku could be a good show if it was about her being an idol.
