I despise anything that is Harley solo books Messi I'm sorry I just can't stand her. Like Batman is my dude and I own more Batman stuff than any other comic book character and I only own a single Harley figure. Wait no two, the Sideshow 1/6 scale one and the DCC BTAS one.

I'm honestly an old school Harley fan from BTAS. Never liked her in anything else. Only Dini knows how to write her in a way I find endearing.

Her and Deadpool followed similar paths of cool side characters who get overexposed quickly. The difference is Deadpool had actually solid monthly books before becoming mainstream and it's taken like 10 years for another quality book to arise. Still waiting on Harley.

Messi and I are pretty similar in going about those characters, cause I'll buy almost anything Deadpool and he buys anything Harley. We're not that different, I just have taste.

She's in lots of that and was an instant hit. Since then she has steadily built over time with comics and media stuff. Exploding completely with Suicide Squad. But she was still super popular before that.

Harley easily outsells Deadpool.

Don't compare yourself to that junkie. While I think DP strayed off what I about him he's still a way better developed character than Harley and is more than just something to fap to.

gotcha, yeah i figured her hype was building before Suicide Squad but wondering if there was a defining comic issue/series or writer that brought it out.

deadpool was a surprise years back. i last remembered him fighting Domino in X-Force, he wasn't the wiseguy spidey cracking jokes back then
and was some side villain like Strife. i was shocked he was more popular than Wolverine.

Are we including like only one specific Deadpool comic? Cause pretty sure at least one of his books is always ranked higher in monthly sales. Merchandise is probably close I'll give you that.

It was her first appearance in the animated series. Honestly it was love at first sight for many. She wasn't meant to hang around Btw.

Her real breakout was the Mad love comic/episode. It's incredible.

Harleys comic consistently sells well above many titles. Is usually top 15. Used to be top 5 before Rebirths double shipping and was selling 80k copies.

I'd be willing to bet Harleys suicide squad merch sold more than Deadpools.

I wish Nightwing got more love. Keep hoping for a Mezco figure of him. Probably my fave DC character but there's never any high end figures of him it sucks.

He was just a Deathstroke copy when he debuted. Took some time for him to develop into his own character.

Didn't that movie have way more merch in general? Plus it was PG-13, so more kids could watch it and buy the toys.

They likely had them appear in other Marvel titles first. It was a common trick they use to do to keep certain characters like Circuit Breaker in the old Transformers comics, they had her appear in a panel in another book so they had rights to her. Anything purely created in the TF comic would be Hasbro's for all time. Rom was probably the same with the Space Knights.

Neither Circuit Breaker nor the Dire Wraiths appeared in other books first, but they did soon after. Circuit Breaker's use outside of Transformers was laughably cynical. They actually put in some effort for the Dire Wraiths.

I see. While I knew about the Transformers stuff this is new. I was always curious why this particular character had a strange history.

Just think about the hot toys that will come from Gotham City Sirens. It will print money. More Harley outfits. Likely a new hairstyle to sculpt. Ivy and Catwoman. My jimmy's get rustled thinking about it.

Thor reveals should be soon right. Merch has started getting revealed. Hopefully hot toys soon.

Nah the HT has been out a while. I think it's a genuinely fantastic figure, but the NECA figure has great paint, a ton of accessories, and just oozes old school Joe Kelly/Ed McGuinness artwork. I've always liked the NECA 1/4 stuff but the Deadpool figure was the first one that made it seem like they took a leap.

Lol you'll get another Harley for sure and if you're lucky Catwoman but considering how HT doesn't seem very committed to female characters I'm not sure how much faith you should put in it. Kinda like your Thor 2 figure hype. Hulk, Thor, and Loki are about all that I expect, but I'd love to be wrong.

Well my prediction is they will only do the core of the Sirens which is Harley Ivy and Catwoman. Seeing as they will be the leads.
