Just when I got into Hot Toys, I feel like I'm already out. Dropped £185 on AoU Cap (not something I do lightly!), anticipated the next few figures (Widow, Hakweye and Vision) and then see that they're being priced at £40 more than what I paid for Cap.
It's ridiculous trying to keep up... so many and so expensive for each one.
Oh and don't forget they'll be releasing new models for next year's Civil War (maybe not every character, but I'd wager most of the ones present in the film that were also in AoU)
Soooo yeah. When I buy a $20 figure it's not a big deal if they release a new costume every year or so. But when you are buying $200-300 figures it's something to think about.

As for me, I'm still pondering rather buying the Figuarts Hulkbuster is worth it or not. It does look rather nice... and I have the other Figuarts on order.

That Mark 45 looks like he's been hitting the gym. Looks bulkier/more muscular.
Yeah it's definitely an expensive hobby. I own 6 hot toys figures and have at least 5 more preordered. It's easy to go crazy and want to collect all of them, but I've decided to just collect the figures I like the most and not worry about having a complete collection.
On a related note, King Arts is making a lot of the Iron Man suits in diecast 1:9 scale. I don't know the prices, but they may be a good alternative to Hot Toys figures (though they may still be a little pricey). Here's a video of the upcoming ones. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EljReg0rv2I

The only ones that Hot Toys hasn't official announced are Shotgun, Hammerheard, Blue Steel (just a silver centurion repaint and I've seen a few good customers) and the armor in the 3rd last pic I posted.
Now that is a fucking amazing deal. 390 Shipped for all 3? How?? I just paid 200 USD for Gamora alone Mark 43 wil be about 350 USD for me and I'm assuming you're talking about AoU Cap?

Yeah I'm considering getting the Starboost one to go with my Hot Toys Starboost. Maybe a few other ones like Iron Patriot and the Mark 42.
Hah, I thought about it but decided one is probably enough. I was pretty excited for it to be announced, but now that I've see it, I dunno, I don't quite like it as much as I thought I would. Still on the fence.
Ha ha, I did the same thing but from Nippon-Yassan because when I calculate the cost + shipping fee to Australia in total, NY ends up being $40 cheaper.

Good friend of mine is selling them to me for cheap. I just need to photograph the figures for him. Not sure how he gets them but I imagine it's from HK. Was basically $350 for Mark 43, Free AoU Cap and Gamora was $40.

My advice is don't go for a whole line. I'm putting the Avengers together from what I think are the best ones.
I started with Avengers Cap then Dark World Thor. I have the MK III Ironman on order and I will eventually get Hulk.
Id like to get Hawkeye and Widow but they are low priority.
The point is, don't rush into it. Whilst some figures will be limited, you can pick up most using reward points later.
Admittedly I now think AoU Capt us the definitive one but he will have to wait... I'm happy with what I have!

I love the detail
Base sculpt looks great and the detail work, especially on Batman is amazing. Jointing completely ruins Mutant Leader for me, though. Ab crunch in particular is an absolute mess. Even at a 1000 limited piece, that price seems rather silly.

Another Batman variant and first appearance of the Mutant Leader. $150 for the set.
I own the original Limited Edition blue variant, and he is hands down one of the best figures I've ever had the pleasure of owning. The quality put into the figure is very apparent and he looks great on a shelf on his stand.

Mezco already came out and said there will be no straight re releases. I paid the $120 for the black version just because I don't wanna be stuck paying even more later.

I was emailed an offer buy SS and was very tempted but ultimately decided £60 ish was way more than I was willing to pay for a book

yeah they emailed me about paying $100 or some shit for it for some special edition but other retailers sell it for about $25 for the regular edition which seems like a good price
Igor and Heartbreaker, Igor is an incredible figure on his own, he's huge chunky, really poseable and stuff.
You can't go wrong.

I would do the latter decision. Igor isn't as cool as Hulkbuster though.
Mark 45 at secret base, you can already see the color is darker and not as bright as the pictures indicate.

I'm now looking at my Hot toys pre-order list its a couple of thousand bucks. I'm just glad that Hot Toys takes their time with releases.
Otherwise I couldn't keep up.

That's a bit harsh and entirely inaccurate. Many of the IM armors have a vast differences, ranging from size, design, colour and even limbs and texture. I personally don't collect them all but I can certainly see the draw in doing so. Each to their own.

They're nowhere near that bad. You act as if most of the armors are just rehashes of the exact same build with some kind of very minor aesthetics change. They all look unique to me. It's definitely not for everyone but the same thing can be said about a lot collecting items.
