Lmao what fucking trash is this. I dont know if IronGalaxy is to blame or Activision but might as well delay the game a year and implement that career mode.

99% of replies ive seen on Twitter and elsewhere is people wanting to wait for a deep deep sale now or just a skip.

And for people who might not remember what was the career mode, you can just chill skate around on your board and grab challenges from NPC's



Even the PS1 version had this free roam structure, where you grabbed your missions from floating icons without voice acting. Shit even that would have been better than this bullshit 2 minute runs.

To me it also confirms zero chance of THUG remakes happening, considering if they can't even get the open world stuff working in this, why would they with THUG?

That is your opinion. And while I am a huge fan of THPS2 and consider that my favorite, I disagree. The THPS4 career made it fresh after three samey entries.

Its certainly not a remake if the main mode of 4 is scrapped. It's just level DLC for 3 now I suppose.

While they still have the regular high score/pro score/collect COMBO you also have a bunch of crazy goals that tie into the level.

It honestly just really sounds like they're removing the middle man which is "skate up to NPC and press button", I understand how that may be upsetting to some, but there are many than don't mind the change or even prefer it.

I'm in the middle somewhere. Of course I would've loved it to be exactly like the original, but hey, the original still exists. I'm glad they're even doing this in the first place, personally. But as someone that didn't really care for the "open world NPC interaction aspect of THUG 1 and 2", I'm fine.

Well, other than everyone. My Gamepass will be expired by then I believe, and I don't really use it enough to re-up it, so I'll probably skip this one. Doesn't sound like I'm really missing anything anyway. Iron Galaxy is making this right? I fully expect this to not be anywhere near as good as the stellar remake of 1 and 2, so I think it's pretty skippable. As for the great soundtracks, eh, I got every song on my main playlists anyway :/.

While I'm super happy to get a new remake (or anything new from the franchise which seemed dead), I'm really sad about this.

Back when I played 1+2 (when it came to steam), I was thinking "this is super fun but it's so sad the studio shut down. It would have been great to see at least remakes up to 4, to have NPCs and longer story, something more alive", it was REALLY what I was waiting specificially for this remake, and it's not there.

To all people who said "the goals weren't that great anyway", it's not just a matter of how good or not the goals were for me. It's the structure.
I really liked being able to free roam around the maps while finding secrets, talking to NPCs, and doing some goals every now and then, all of this seamlessly in the same mode. It made the campaign feel longer, you had more freedom.
Now with this 2 minutes mode, you will forced into rushing through the goals, instead of taking your time and switching between free roaming and progressing through the story.
Yeah Free skate will be there like in 1+2, but as a completely seperate mode without any impact on the campaign, it's not the same thing at all, and this sucks.
