Saga chapter, Return 6;: Scratch.
I have done the boss fight, Estevez gave me the cell key, I have exhausted all available profiling and board options but the objective is not progressing from "come up with a plan". There is nothing left for me to attach to the board, or any profiling left. But Estevez or Casey aren't giving me any new info.
sorry you're stuck. i just had a bit where i thought i was stuck, too. everything changed when i found a single sheet of evidence i'd missed, which, when plugged into the board, triggered 2 profiles, & voila! i suggest scouring the map, checking any question marks, & making sure you've grabbed absolutely friggin' everything. there're definitely times when this mindplace stuff can be pretty demanding/unforgiving...

Sound disappeared once at the very beginning and once after quick resuming (fixed by going into menu and back). Didn’t encounter any bugs and I have been playing for 15 hours so far. Playing on quality (usually prefer performance) and so far it has been rock solid 30fps

As a so called millennial, I think I perceive such things as wrong and out of place, simply because I've never been used to it, which is, with a certain amount of self criticism, a mistake. Just like any other form of art or medium, also videogames carry various kinds of messages, positive and negative, and I find it important, in order to further develop and thrive, that current, as well as future generations, get rid of many misconceptions that ultimately bring to fear, hatred, prejudice and pure ignorance. 20 years ago I took for granted that the main character of my favorite videogame was going to be a white male, not even thinking about the fact it could have been otherwise and that I could have enjoyed the game anyway...
What bothers me the most is the execution, which is 90% of the time so poorly made that it makes you cringe. Inclusivity is welcome but at least hire someone who's actually able to write some decent lines of dialogue.
I finally beat the game and honestly enjoyed my time with it. Just like with most Remedy games it’s not perfect but it has own unique style that made the experience unique and memorable.
Great game not my GOTY (that still goes to ACVI) but great all the same.
Can’t wait for the two DLCs.

You play Alan Wake 2 and there is literally nothing woke about it. I'm not for censorship, but I'm not against a company trying it's best not to unfairly denigrate.
There are 10,000's of lines of dialogue in any AAA game. Most writers/or developers don't want to unknowingly offend large swaths of people. Especially if you are Finnish and are not 100% accustomed with the American society you are portraying, which Remedy is. It makes complete sense to hire a company to proof read your shit. There is no evidence anything structurally was changed to adhere to being "woke"
Also, people, like this youtuber, point to Anderson being white 7 years ago. I'm really glad they changed it. Her being black gives a great otherness feeling in an all white town. Great contrast. And her race is barely mentioned in the game fwiw

I'm tryna stay super spoiler free. I just wanna know from those playing, how is the horror elements, I wasn't sure how I felt about the game then saw the like mirror water lady fight and was sold but how much of that really creepy otherworldly horror in the game?
That clip alone literally made me push through and finally finish AW1 which I've struggled to do so for many years

Yes, in all but name. Sam Lake wrote it for Alan Wake because they didn't have the rights to MP anymore (Rockstar has it). His back story, voiced by Mccaffery etc all just shows you it's his Max Payne stand-in.
FYI I was able to get past it thanks to some comments from Reddit and Era.
Basically this is what I did:
- Make a save before leaving the morgue and triggering the boss fight.
- After the boss, only communicate the essential dialogues with the agents, get the manuscript from the broken cell and the one that spawns next to your car at night time.
- Get the key from Estevez, go to the cell, collect all the clues and analyze everything.
- The thing that is the progress breaker here is that you need to get a deduction about profiling Tor for "Trusting Wake".
- If you get the above after analyzing, good (but you're still not out of the woods), if you don't get the above profiling option, reload your save.
- Assuming you got the above, keep profiling and analyzing until you get the option to talk to Estevez about the clicker.
- This is the second point where the game broke for me before.
- Provided it goes well, Estevez's conversation will open up another deduction point on your board about how you can use the clicker.
If you did all that, you will get the "are you sure you want to continue?" prompt and the game will progress as intended.
All the steps above might not be required, that's just the headcanon I had to go through to finally get out of that broken scripting problem.

Finished it. 8.5...maybe 8. and I was giving it a 10 for first few hours.
The game is super popular and I am a huge AW fan... so my opinion will get a lot of hate here. Despite me telling to my wife yesterday "this game is amazing". And I do think so. But some things drag it down.
The ending sucked ass unfortunately.
For a sequel that 25 hours long, 13 years after the original game...
The game is beautiful aside from some Image Quality and performance downsides on ps5 too.
My non spoilery random thoughts. Good and bad things:
-loved visual design and especially audio design. Rain, wind, music. Amazing.
-I applaud Remedy for doing something different and original.
-Incredible atmosphere. Visiting the diner outside of main quest is so good.
-Liked the characters. Saga is a bit of a nothing burger but I grew to like her well enough.
-I somehow didn't mind all the detective board stuff. Outside of sorting collectibles there. It takes too long sometimes but it was something different.
-You spend way way way way too much time listening to head voices when profiling people and wake reading pages. it must total to like 4 hours or something.
-Shooting felt good but I wish there was a bit more combat? I never thought I would say that. No idea why you have 2 shotgun and a hunting rifle. It's the same weapon.
-Inventory system didn't need to be there at all. It adds clutter and takes your time. You still end up with more than enough of everything +10x that in shoebox.
-Poor controller aiming. Acceleration galore.
-All the needless areas to explore after beating the area boss are just needless. I ended up wasting way too much time for nothing.
-I mean... I love that you have some freedom to explore but it would be enough for me to just be able to run through this nice area and maybe keep an eye out for a thermos. but as they did it, I felt the need to comb the area deeper than I clean me teeth. Some areas grew tiresome.
-Nursing rhymes and charms are the most useless thing ever. I am not doing a single one if I ever replay this game. How could one even use the "yeah you don't die once" charm.. I had like 10 of these.
-Cult stashes are fine. At least the ones with a puzzle. The ones with a key hidden in the 2nd end of the area are bad.
-Lunch boxes are bad too. Thermoses were just collectibles but lunch boxes are weapon upgrades. So you have to explore this fucking forest for 2 hours.
-Lol Saga actually says something among the lines "these fucking white people are doing this to me again".. seriously? That got me out of the moment.
-It's starts amusingly with Sam Lake being Casey but by the end you are kinda sick of his self fanboism in every scene possible. Good for him I guess.
-Same with Finland.. ok I get it, Remedy is finnish but christ. Just place the game in Finland. This is a bit obnoxious.
-And how many Jump scare loud bright screen can there be?! All the time apparently. Especially with that old lady mission. I am playing at night with headphones and it's just annoying. I am feeling the scary atmosphere and then this idiotic thing ruins it.
So yeah... that's a lot of complaints. I think the game is still fantastic but I kinda got the same issue as FF 16. It got a bit too big with a bit too much bloat not related to main game in any way.
But you only realize that after you wasted hours and hours doing chores. Like side quests in ff16 (maybe next one will be important... and then the game is 50 hours).
Now about the ending

13 years and nothing is resolved. Alan still in the dark place. Alice apparently too. It was never explained how Alan got all the "up to date" news on Alice in the dark place. Turns out it was just that and not dark place playing tricks on him. Makes no sense.
FBC made Alice remember everything so she jumped into dark place somehow.
Ahti is again the best character in the game... and he is from control.
Saga and Casey are stuck in the dark place. Logan never picked up the phone. Clear DLC bait playing as Casey.
Clearly MR DOOR dlc bait.
Nothing on Barry aside from few mentions and notes. Shame.
The musical mission was amazing.
- bugs: fell through the floor twice because the game didn't load the area in after I opened a door, got caught on geo, containers I already looted still showing up on the map, container unlootable becaue it's too high up and can't tilt the camera enough to get the button prompt to appear, Door_Bolt_Cutters label on map
- annoying enemy respawns: enemies near stash, no prob, check hint, wander around trying to find the key, check the hint again, enemies respawn, wander around a bit more, enemiees respawn...
- stupidity: after the morgue (come on...), after trailer park (doesn't work in a semi open world), NPCs generally acting improperly in the world, and not in a haha quirky funny Twin Peaks way
- it's way too dark: why do I have to have my flashlight on inside? Switch on the lights dammit. When I find a deer head to pat, Saga puts away the light and it's pitch black

Im loving the horror elements. This is literally the only game thats sent chills down my spine with enemy encounters. Im playing with either headphones on or the volume way up on the surround sound. The voicework on the enemies is excellent.
