Anyway, awards are just like reviews, it is always subjective. But this generation is not credible due to politics and agenda being push and paid reviews.
 
I mean in a way you can say that about any award show. But for the developers it's not. Just last year over 130M people watched these...that's quite a huge place for publicity.
That's said even if you watch these, you probably also realize the awards themselves are meaningless and they go through them like they don't care for them.

It's all about the new trailers and GOTY.
 
Geoffs are definitely not meaningless. They don't objectively score each game's quality but no other place in the showbiz has provided me with a rabbi Bill Clinton joke so that alone makes it worth watching.
