All these ANAD Marvel titles starting is really confusing when you don't know how Secret Wars ends. So weird to have this new status quo arrive and no idea of why it's there.

CBR: David Walker Interview on Power Man and Iron Fist

Really hope this book's writer shows more cosmic competence than the hack who brought him to space in the first place. Maybe something will be done to redeem anything about the awful turn that they've taken Agent Venom down.

Like letting him have his actually good costume back at some point.

Or remembering that surrogate daughter figure he promised to take care of, and then abandoned while a bunch of demons and super criminals are hunting her to tear out her heart.

Art seems good at least, but no one can make his current costume look like anything but awful.

Really looking forward to Power Man and Iron Fist. Designs look great (though Danny's feels a bit bum-like) and a modern bromance-centric comic for them is LONG overdue.

I don't much give a damn about Hercules as a character, but in Abnett I trust. Just wish he was writing Nova instead.

I have high hopes for Vision with Tom King writing it. Love his work on Grayson and Omega Men has a very devoted fanbase as well.

I'm trying hard to cut back on Marvel books and rely on Marvel Unlimited. I don't mind being six months behind, as it'll give me time to catch up on my ever growing backlog. Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America and Invincible Iron Man have been absolutely solid thus far, however, making it harder to not follow their release schedule.

I'm cautiously optimistic. King has yet to let me down, but I constantly fear that he'll be another one of those "great DC creators" that transitions over to Marvel only to just underwhelm.

Lashley

Why does he wear the mask!?
For me today:

Amazing Spider-Man #3
Deadpool #1
Doctor Strange #2
Drax #1
Extraordinary X-Men #1
Hercules #1
Invincible Iron Man #3
Star Wars #11
Uncanny X-Men #600
Vision #1

Extraordinary X-Men #1 was pretty good-I'm optimistic about Lemiere's run on the series. That said-I read UXM 600 as well-and they keep mentioning "What Cyclops Did" in EXM. Are they referring to the last scene in UXM because I don't get what the big deal is.

Uncanny X-Men was a huge "Cyclops was right" coda.

I assume something happened in-between then and now, because otherwise, I got nothing.

Read Uncanny X-Men 600 because, y'know, 600. Despite not following the X-Men side, wasn't too lost since Neogaf threads did a pretty good job of keeping me up to date on the big stuff. However, I have no clue what the last section on Beast was about. Read like a cliffhanger, but no clue what was revealed.

So was the whole Bendis's arc one big Xanatos Gambit by Cyclops? If so, is there an issue where his plans all started coming together?

Uncanny ends with the ultimate #Cyclopswasright, Extraordinary starts with Cyclops doing something that made the world hate mutants more than ever.

There must be balance within the force.

There was supposed to be a goddamn explanation. This was supposed to make Secret Wars #1 make sense.

Mr. Bendis said they finished it long before Secret Wars, and it would not have anything to do with it.
It was written, drawn, colored, ready to go in June.
Marvel just delayed for who knows what.

That's giving Bendis too much credit in assuming he had an ultimate plan and thought these things out ahead of time. He can't even be assed to read books he's writing sequels to, much less have to think about what he's going to do down the line.

Bendis' entire run is Cyclops doing press conferences and saving mutants, while the world hates on him because he killed Professor Xavier while high on Phoenix.

Otherwise he did jack all during the run to justify the hate.

Uncanny's ending was just
Bendis giving Cyclops a feel good moment to end the issue. He was still a criminal and nobody forgave him.

Not that much time actually passed in Bendis' run post AvX because his books are paced extremely slow.

It would have been interesting to see the phone calls between Cyclops and
Every mutant on earth.

"Excuse me, is this Sabretooth? Hello-Scott Summers, remember me? Look if you're not busy on Wednesday the 4th-could I possibly have you swing by Washington DC for a little get together I'm having? Oh great! And if you're driving, could I have you pick up Polaris on your way?

Question about Amazing Spider-Man #3:
Were Valeria and Franklin Richard's ages switched seeing as how the statue of Valeria was taller and older looking than Franklin?

I really like the new artist they got for Nova in addition to the direction they seem to be going with villains so far.

Vision tops Cap as my favourite #1. Tom King absolutely shattered my expectations tonally, to the point where I'd say it was a borderline troubling read. The art really complimented that impassive, eerie narration too.

Can you prove all these allegations? also second time you insult bendis in 1 page... you can not like his writing but a hack he is not....a little respect comes a long way but whatever i guess.

Vision #1 truly impressed me out of all the ANAD marvel books out now. After seeing that cover for it the first time I know it would be special.
It's really really good.

best seen in the classic "Shadow of the Beast"

He's literally admitted to not planning ahead, which made his decade of Avengers feel so over the place and full of forgotten plot threads, nonsense retcons, and inconsistent characterisation. He's also admitted to not reading the DNA Guardians or Thanos Imperative before writing his own book directly following.

I've complimented him multiple times in this thread- Iron Man is great. He has a niche, but rarely writes in it anymore. You're right though- I'm mostly just venting because he's so clearly half-assing it, and on the books that matter the most to me.

only thing with Extraordinary is...we just got done coming back from the effects from House of M, give it some damn time before yet another extinction event.

god it would suck being a mutant with all the bullshit that keeps happening, almost as bad as being an inhuman.

So we got confirmation that Nick Fury in this new universe is Nick Fury Jr. and not ultimate Nick. I thought for sure that Ultimate would be taking over for diet Sam Jackson.

Well there's always going to be something leading to mutants being persecuted.

No, he's absolutely right. I have the comics he wrote and, yeah, he can't even spell the names of some of the characters correctly.

His run on Guardians of the Galaxy, and his handling of Richard Rider (or, ahem, "Ryder" as he spelled it) was beyond embarrassing and could have been solved if he had read a single issue of the comics that directly preceded his run.
