Err, why have they changed Star Lords origins?

I mean, they changed every other aspect of the character until there's nothing remotely similar left, why not just go all the way?

I'm impressed he's even still connected to NASA at all, and they didn't just jump straight to Yondu.

Why does he wear the mask!?
Star Lord was really dull for a #1

I'll keep reading because I like him, but yeah. This definitely isn't 616 Quill then? Since the story has him at 18 years old.

I thought that they were good.

Didn't he become the god of stories?

Yes, so I don't think it was a lack of continuity or whatever when they explicitly referred to him as the God of Lies on the last panel of Thor. My feeling is that there'll be a second Loki around, since Loki wasn't destroyed when 616 and 1610 collided with each other.

Hmm interesting theory.

Wow, I'm blown away-Uncanny Inhumans was fantastic! And I hate the Inhumans! This could be an epic storyline, I'm totally onboard.

Still can't find a copy of Ms. Marvel, so I dunno how that is.

My favorite comic so far has to be Captain America - Sam Wilson. Seriously makes Cap an interesting character for once, and Sam is one hell of a cool dude. Really hoping they take this approach for Falcon in the next movies.

Hasnt been revealed yet; his death in Secret Wars might be canonical and permanent.
We can only hope.

It's really good. So much better than Soule's pre-Secret Wars Inhumans. The art is fantastic as well. Looking forward to All-New Inhumans.

I actually liked Spider-Woman. Many people thought it would be terrible but the set up was quite entertaining. Mostly realistic I'd say, though I know nothing about pregnancy or maternity leave. I do wonder where they are going with that ending though.

Spider-woman was OK.

Can't be pregnant forever I guess.

Star-Lord was a let down. I don't need a multi issue origin story.

Ant-Man was good. Ex X-Men was good. Thor was good. Ms. Marvel was great as always

Jem and the Holograms is so good.

Ms. Marvel #1 (the new one, not the first ever issue) was great as always. Sets up a lot in a single issue i.e. the changes since Secret Wars (which is still going on, so that's confusing) for Kamala, her supporting cast and the new problems she's going to face for the next few issues.

That said, I must call foul on them for not using
"Mini Ms. Marvel" when she shrinks down
, that was such an obvious bit of alliteration they could have used!

Not too much this week. I'm eager to see how Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur turns out. All-New Wolverine could go either way. I'm cautious of Venom: Space Knight - I think the new status quo could make for some unique stories, but don't find Venom in space nearly as appealing as I did the "Secret Agent Venom" era.

Extraordinary X-Men is my shit. This is what I need right now as mutants and inhumans have this weird relationship.
What happened to Cyclops?

The current rumor is that a lot happened in the 8-month gap.
  • Scott went public with the fact that the Terrigen Mist is causing mutants to be sick. This is where the M-Pox stuff comes from.
  • Quentin Quire formed the new Hellfire club to start trying to kill Inhumans in retaliation for the mists. He's also mad that the X-Men didn't do enough to prevent Wolverine's death.
  • Jean Grey was tired of everything resulting from adult Cyclops trying to be so proactive and tried to reprogram his mind.
  • She accidentally unleashed the sliver of The Void that Scott kept in his mind from the X-Men's tangles with The Sentry and Norman Osborne's Dark Avengers from way back in Dark Reign. This apparently traumatized her and hurt Scott to some extent. This is why she isn't on a team at the start of Extraordinary X-Men.
  • Scott is now the Edwards Snowden of the X-Men. He's in exile, but is apparently going to be popping up in Uncanny X-Men feeding Magneto's team intel and working on something in the background.

I'm cool with the current cosmic marvel setup.

That rumor was fake.

Out of curiosity, has anyone here read Cullen Bunn's run on Moon Knight? Warren Ellis' excellent run turned me into a fan of the character (Brian Wood's run was decent, but very sloppy in its opening arc) and i'm wondering if it's worth checking out while waiting for the ongoing series of the character to start next year.

I will never be cool with cosmic Marvel until they bring back Rom. (Which will never happen since IDW's making a new comic ;_;)

FWIW: Guardians of the Galaxy director mentioned he was able to include one of his favorite characters in the sequel (which many believe to be the greatest of the Space Knights himself, ROM as Gunn wanted to put him in the first film), so he might pop up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Maybe. We can hope.

That or hope for IDW's series to be as good as the original.

Probably fake, but the bottom three are just three more reasons to hate
modern, teenage Jean Grey. Bring back the real thing already.

Oh man-Squirrel Girl #2 was hilarious as usual. Time Traveling shenanigans and humor are weakness-I eat it up.
