Illuminati really surprised me. I find it pretty interesting that Titania seems to be the lead character.
Some cool art and villains, I'm interested.

Black Ant's redesign looks so good- he's the thing I'm most excited to see in the future.

Titania and Creel's relationship was surprisingly sweet too; looking forward to more of them together in the future.

had her time, time for Mayhem and Ruby Summers to get their shine.

It seems you haven't been reading Secret Wars or any of the tie-ins.

But... Why should Ruby Summers shine in Web Warriors? That would seem a strange place for her to shine.

He's an evil Kamen Rider now, I love it.

ANAD Avengers was alright. Hoping this opening story arc will be decent. Villain doesn't interest me at all.

So from today:

- Avengers was pants
- Uncanny is still pants, probably gonna drop it
- Ultimates was alright, pretty uneventful issue just introducing the team
- Illuminati looks promising
- Web Warriors looks fun
- Spider-Man 2099 has already nullified it's big character death after 2 whole issues
- Wolverine was... meh
- Hawkeye is still suffering from following Fractions run. It's not all that bad, but it just comes off as disappointing in comparison
- I have no idea where they are going with Carnage, but it was interesting

First weak release week from the ANAD line. Hawkeye was okay, everything else disappointed me. There isn't a decent Avengers book and that surprises me. Illuminati had my hopes up but was a clunky mess with decent art.

Considering what Hickman did with Avengers over the last few years, that's really surprising.

Yeah this is what bums me out. It should be their crown jewel.

I haven't read ANAD Avengers yet, but I'm confident I'll like it. I'm also hyped for Squadron Supreme.

A-Force and Squadron Supreme seem to be considered Avengers books by Marvel and hopefully you'll like those.

Ultimates was a bit schizo, but loved that it dived right into super-science. Was looking up
Neutronium
and now I think I'll have to track down Ewing previous runs since it looks like he might be weaving his own epic.

Ultimates looks like the only decent Avengers book in ANAD for me, I haven't liked any of the previous books now All New All Different Avengers did nothing for me either.

ANAD Avengers was underwhelming. I hope it will catch steam once the team is fully assembled, I liked what I saw in the FCBD issue.

Who was the bad guy in the suit in ANAD Avengers? Was it
Dr Doom?
I remember seeing he showed up in Iron Man with a new look.

Fair enough, I'll keep my fingers crossed. It's insane that the flagship books kicked off so weakly.

I blame ANAD Avengers sucking based purely on them using a Nova villain. Funnily enough the backup was way better even with Nova in it.

I haven't read any of the Sam Nova stuff had no idea who that guy was so no surprise that little drama didn't grab me. You're right about the backup too.

ANAD Avengers: Okay
Spider Man 2099: Big fight scene and
Tempest is ok but mom is pissed
Web Warriors: Spider Man Unlimited: The Comic
Carnage: Basically if the first 6 minutes of Jason Goes to Hell was a comic. Okay.
All New Wolverine: Orphan Black
Spider Gwen: AKA Black, Female Captain America.

Spider Gwen: AKA Black, Female Captain America.

Don't forget about red haired ageless Sharon Carter.

Where's Kaine and Aracely?

Nooo at Ultimate Thor's fate. What was the point in throwing the hammer?

All in All I'm happy with the books for the most part especially Ultimate Avengers. That's how a comic is supposed to go. Kamala is too judgemental.

All New Avengers is all right so far. Not looking forward to the Chitauri but the art is nice and the story is well told.

Wolverine is like ehhhh. Art is good, had some great moments, called the twist the very first time the villain showed up. Angel interaction was like "she's going to dump him isn't she?". Other than that, it's not "Wolverine". It's a teenager who has been forced to pick up his legacy. She's basically like any other teenage hero these days who have taken up the mantle (Spiderman, Marvel Girl) only it doesn't feel like that iconic hero's style of book.

I'm not sure Ms. Marvel counts really- the only similarity to the previous Ms. Marvel is the name. everything else is totally different from the ground up.

In contrast the best part of ANAD Avengers was Tony Stark calling miles "trademark infringement kid" because that's pretty much what he is. Struggling to find the point of that character with Miguel, Gwen, Amazing, AND Web Warriors on the shelves.

I agree on that count. Ms. Marvel is her own thing. The others not as much though.

Marvel's super scientists are some of the bitchiest, cattiest, ain't shit dudes in fiction. And I love it.

Well to be fair Gwen and Web Warriors aren't in 616 (or whatever the new universe is called).

The Web Warriors are multiversal, they can go wherever and probably will. The odds of them ending back up in (what was at one point 616 and might still be) is pretty damned high.

As someone else said, Anya is from there, Kaine (who hasn't shown up yet but will) is from there, etc etc.

but its a moot point. readers don't really care what universe the story takes place in, they care about the approach. And there are so many spider people running around and all of them better than miles even the goddamned pig that you wonder what the point of miles is.

wait what?

Miles should be ok now that the book probably won't be built around Ultimate Peter.

Nah, it'll be built around 616 Peter.

To a decent extent Spidey 2099 is also, but Miguel is so surly it comes off as amusing, rather than irritating.

"Hey, aren't you spiderman? Why aren't you telling jokes?"

"A priest, a rabbi, and a monk walk into a bar because fuck you I'm not doing that today"

Excited for this week - my comic shop down buy four #1s get one free, so I skipped the last few weeks.

I'm planning on ANAD Avengers, Ms. Marvel, Ultimates, Vision, and... I'm torn between Wolverine and Mighty Thor. Or maybe something else entirely. I'll have to ruminate.
