Spidey 2099:
RIP Tempest, Shit getting real now.

Sam Wilson: Spencer already made me give a shit about Sam in one issue than Remender.

But is every Avenger broke in the ANAD?

Tony seems to still be rich, but I get the feeling there's more to it than funding. The characters seem to want a change from the old order, as it were.

I actually liked the setup the team had during the original New Avengers so I'm cool with teams that have a more moderate setup.

The New Avengers team is wisely set up. I just hope the book recovers, 1st issue was eh.

I think the current New Avengers book just needs a new artist. If the book struggles I would expect them to change that before moving away from the idea.

Yes. Her real name is in there too during a funny scene, but I don't remember it.

Emily.

I'm a little bummed she isn't actually just the 616 version of Chat, considering her powers.

I guess I'm in the minority who like this art.

I think it's alright. A step down from Stegman's Spider-Man stuff, but it's not a dealbreaker. But then, I think New Avengers looks downright gorgeous, and this is the first time Squirrel Girl hasn't looked awful in years, so what do I know?

Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
HEY GUYS LET'S KEEP REMINDING EVERYONE WE DON'T HAVE STARK MONEY ANYMORE!!!

It's ridiculous. Avengers would have endorsements and speaking/appearance fees out the ass.

As expected having Deadpool and Squirrel Girl on their respective avengers teams has rendered both books unreadable.

Read Uncanny and New Avengers.

I didn't make it through New. Ugh.

Uncanny was alright though came off really generic. DP isn't really a team player and I think will drag the team down, which they all appear to be aware of.

Deadpool has had a long-running arc of wanting to be a hero, but having issues due to his natural tendencies. The Point One made it clear that Rogers' faith in him was the driving force behind him being on the team.

Everything still happened. But everything takes place 8 months after Secret Wars.

Was this established somewhere else? It seemed to me that everyone was just their respective pre-Secret Wars selves in a new universe, no timeline shenanigans involved. Smashing things into 8 months doesn't make any sense.

“In the same way that events jumped forward in time eight months in AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS during the lead-up to Secret Wars, so too when we enter the new Marvel Universe eight months will have passed for all of the characters as well,” explains Marvel Senior VP-Executive Editor and SECRET WARS editor Tom Brevoort. “This provides our creators, even apart from Secret Wars, to drop into exciting new situations and status quos on the fly. So look for surprises and mysteries and changes galore as series resume in the NEW MU.”

I am curious how they're going to explain everything, you know, not ending. And whyeverything is so normal. "Huh, that whole 'reality collapsing and Doom recreating the universe and then the universe coming back' thing was weird. Oh well, business as usual, back to robbing banks dressed like a gorilla!"

My guess would be a memory wipe for all but a few characters, as cheap as that may be.

I think that some of the series will be taking place during the 8 month time since in
the first issue of Spider-Man 2099 it shows the Regent's agents purchasing the Raft from Alchamax and in the first issue of Amazing Spider-Man it showed that the Raft has been under the Regent's control for a while and already has a couple of super powered villains in his collection

New Avengers didn't suck... it's just, you know, not my thing. It does have an interesting villain.

Now Uncanny, that's a whole load of steaming shit. I loved Remenders Uncanny Avengers run with the Apocalypse twins, but the relaunch and now this is absolutely mediocre. Art is terrible, dialogue isn't funny or any good... it's just a whole lot of nope.

At this point I've enjoyed Dr. Strange, Cap, Amazing Spider-Man and Invincible Iron Man.

Guardians of the Galaxy wasn't terrible either.

I.....have a quick question about this All New All Different. Does this render all events before secret wars basically dead or never existed?

Everything still happened.

Basically, there was the standard Marvel Universe (616) and it died alongside every other version. Each universe shattered like Lego bricks. Secret Wars was Doom grabbing a couple of bricks from each universe and making a new one.

Post Secret Wars, the Marvel Universe (616) is back together again in largely the same configuration, but with a few extra bricks (Miles, Old Man Logan, the Maker). Otherwise, everything that happened before, still happened. All the older Marvel stories still happened. This wasn't a reboot.

Certain questions remain:

How much time was lost just prior to Secret Wars? Cap, Steve, Black Bolt and others looked rather dead in Time Runs Out. All seem fine now, so either there's an out or we came back right before the very end.

How much do they remember of Secret Wars? We've jumped forward 8 months, so we're missing the direct discussions of Secret Wars fallout. There have been subtle hints and acknowledgements, like in Iron Man, but no one's outright said anything and Secret Wars doesn't end until December I believe.

What about the other universes? Saved for Secret Wars, but Spider-Gwen and Web Warriors are already dealing with other universes, so the multiverse isn't gone. Miles is in our Marvel Universe, but the isn't the Ultimate Universe still around?

Correct. ANAD Avengers and Ultimates are not out yet-but have to be better than what came out this week.

Did you read Avengers 0? Cause the preview for Ultimates was a dumpster fire.

Portal to a hellscape opened and needs to be sealed? I know, America Chavez can facetime her girlfriend from hell and they can *literally* dance the portal closed.

There aren't enough languages on Earth to properly convey how stupid that shit was. Like tectonic plates are shifting away from Marvels offices to get away from the stupid.

I'm worried for Ultimates.

I totally agree. Never read Ultimates before but the preview did not convince me.

I still believe in Al Ewing.

I'm honestly fine with her design and the character but yea the dancing is pretty goddamn cringe worthy.

Right here. Al Ewing does amazing work with ensemble casts, his continuity game is the best in the business, and he's an absolute master of making things work that a lesser writer would fail to make compelling.

His Loki book had the potential to be an MCU pandering shitshow, and under just about any one else at Marvel these days, it probably would have been. Under Ewing? One of the best Thor franchise stories in years. Mighty Avengers was great too, and made characters like Blue Marvel, White Tiger and Power Man super compelling and endearing.

Ewing and Duggan have secretly been the best writers at Marvel since Marvel Now launched, and it's great to see them finally get their dues with the keys to the MU.
