90% are shit.
True.nah, probably more
even if 95% are shit, you still have 900 game to play....90% are shit.
Just like with every other medium in existence.90% are shit.
The sad thing is that there are more findable curation communities and services like what you’ve just linked, but the jaded ones here won’t care. They see the monumental number, only focus on the bad, and then say that ‘nothing came out this year’. It’s like a loop.Hidden gems you probably never heard of:

We mostly focus on the niche and mid-range indie games. Please note that I decline most of the copies, I won't recommend something I won't play myself (also, sometimes I already own the game)store.steampowered.com
Steam games on sales won't be touched anyway.
18900 of them90% are shit.
99%90% are shit.
Even if that was true, unless 100% are shit, it's still more good games.
It's 1% good. Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
If that is is indeed true that would still mean there's 190 to 1900 games worth playing. Who the hell has time or money for that lol.95% shovelware.
90% are shit.
But the game industry is stagnating/crashing!!!!

A bunch of fuckwit grifters on youtube!
Ironically the last crash was kind of related to flooding the market with too many titles, more than what people were looking to buy…But the game industry is stagnating/crashing!!!!
Yup! Going by Steam Replay I played 30 games this year, 19 new. So 19/19000=0,001. *100 for percentage right? So I literally played 0,1% of the new games released on Steam in 2024.If that is is indeed true that would still mean there's 190 to 1900 games worth playing. Who the hell has time or money for that lol.
Christ it could be 0.1% worth playing and that would still be more games than I've bought this year!
Not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing.
Too much shovel ware, I'd rarther have 10 really good games a year than loads of bad ones with a few exception's here and there, and no one can go through them all plus hardly any stand out anyway, Steam was better before it opened it's doors to everything from around 2016/17 onwards for me.
No it's not. If you know exactly what you're looking for, you can search by title. What I'm assuming you mean is it's getting harder to find what you might like. This is also true of other mediums.Just like with every other medium in existence.
Lots of games released is a good thing.
The problem I rather see is how we are supposed to filter through them. Steam has a pretty good set of options for finding games already, but it's not enough. They need to innovate in this area, it's getting harder and harder to find what you're looking for.
I started through it and 90% of this list was 30 minute visual novels about being gay or having mental illness and stupid half formed puzzle games. If these are the hidden gems on Steam then the situation is worse than I thought.Hidden gems you probably never heard of:

Right. More trash. Bigger landfillPC is already the biggest by far and it will continue to grow at a faster rate.
