Almost 30 minutes of Star Wars Outlaws 4K gameplay demo

The Obi-Wan show established troopers have very low quality helmets!

I'm glad you posted this. Didn't the same Obi-Wan show have Obi-Wan, "that" Obi-Wan, sneaking a kid, A KID, through a fucking ENEMY AIRCRAFT HANGAR, "IN HIS FUCKING COAT"!!!???!!!

I think the game looks fun, but you have to suspend all reality because it is star wars, ubisoft. I mean I have climbed a lot of towers and never had a map reveal.
You've never gone to a high up area and seen a larger portion of the area around you than you saw on the ground?

Suspension of disbelief only goes so far. I can picture a fantasy world where people have swords made out of light and move shit with their minds, but I cannot picture a 110 pound woman knocking out a genetically engineered soldier wearing hardened armor with a backhanded slap to his helmet. Because I know that this will break your hand and do nothing, no matter who you are.

I just never got a physical map, I could see the area, I just wanted a map handed to me.

It looks good graphically and it also looks boring and uninspired. Like a reskin of stuff we've already seen before and that writing... the writing is so bad. :messenger_loudly_crying: :messenger_loudly_crying: :messenger_loudly_crying: :messenger_loudly_crying: :messenger_loudly_crying:
You should see some clips from The Acolyte.

Entertainment industries are FUBAR now when it comes to talent and writing. C-rated movie levels from the 70s,, 80s and 90s. Only, these are being pushed into big budget productions. :messenger_dizzy:

I think one example is people who attempt to write for shows that carry heavy themes and the writing ends up sounding like dialogue from Charmed.
Characters always seem super smug and infinitely confident. The characters usually lack any depth, aside from attempting to look cool enough to help carry a garbage show. I'm looking at that shitshow Batgirl, for one.

I grew up an absolute Star Wars fanatic. I was so excited when Disney bought it and we were getting more. Episode 7 was one of the most anticipated media events ever for me.

I'm not blaming any one thing on this. But I legitimately care so little for the Star Wars IP right now that it is actually crazy. If you had told me a decade ago that we would have this much Star Wars content in the world I would have thought it was a dream come true. If you told me all of this content would exist and I wouldn't give a fuck about any of it? I never would have believed you. I still haven't even seen Episode 9, a mainline movie, and I see no reason to change that. The Jedi Survivor games, which are very well regarded, look fucking mind numbingly boring to me

Obviously I am just one example. I have seen tons of people saying 'Usual Ubisoft open world with a Star Wars skin is a dream game' so I'm glad that my Millennial Star Wars experience is not what is happening for everyone else. But at this point I think the Star Wars connection actually makes me less interested in something like this. Kind of sucks, my 10 year old self is so disappointed, but oh well.

Looks like a Star Wars themed Uncharted. Nothing really interesting and just typical AAA garbage. But bonus points for space combat though. Will probably get this when it hits $20.

The graphics and overall production values look great.
But the gameplay looks so boring,

Other than the space combat bit I feel like I already played a version of this with better level design, better pacing, much better traversal and more engaging combat in Jedi Survivor.... and that was like a a 7/10 game IMO

Looks boring as fuck.

Also will they stop with these retarded takedowns. This looks ridiculous

It makes no sense... To hit them with such force to the head shows a disregard for their life, so why cradle them slowly to the ground? Just let them drop.

It can't be noise related, because the smash against the helmet would be loud.

I feel like both the enemies and the main character are severely lacking in things to do during combat. Game needs more gadgets to use and the enemy variety seems to be extremely lacking right now. Maybe the full game will fix both of these issues.

The Ubisoft Showcase vid at least had some creature that grabbed the main character's gun hand forcing you to fight it off. More shit like that to keep you on your toes would help alleviate the boredom.

Also, the blasters seem to do very little damage. Seeing a blaster bolt hit Kay directly in the head and having it take off a tiny sliver of health is....not good.

Needs another year in the oven imo. Everything looks like an Uncharted game but not even on par with the first Uncharted from 2007, it's lacking all the high quality animations and action set pieces, and they have a standard main protagonist who talk to much to herself but without any humour, and she's supposed to be a Han Solo clone.

Uncharted without the big action set pieces seems to be a good description for this game. There's even less player initiative than in Uncharted because everywhere you can climb/jump is telegraphed with big button prompts. The environments look beautiful but at the same time it's oh so safe, bland and politically correct with all these strong and brave diverse female characters.

I rolled my eyes when in one of the videos Kay Vess, met the toughest, fastest sharpshooter of the galaxy who was of course female cowboy. These people just can't help themselves. The Critical Drinker commented in one of his video that Star Wars had always been an IP primarily aimed at boys/young adults but lost its way when it started focusing more on a female audience. That was a critical mistake because girls/women are less interested in SF adventure than boys/men. So even though there are more women watching SW now, at the same time many more men are losing interest because they feel the movies/shows are not aimed at them anymore. Ubisoft is making the same mistake here.

I'm watching the trailer, but this game isn't really doing anything new or exciting. Graphically doesnt look much better than Jedi: Fallen Order.

Main character's back hand slaps are very strange. Is it like the goofy skating version of boxing?

Edit: I'd much more prefer a Mandalorian game where you are a bounty hunter and it for real this time isn't a disguised jedi game(looking at you The Mandalorian!).

I have to wonder. BotW was released in 2017, this game prob has been in dev since. They could've looked at it and said, wow, we can really use The Force in interesting and innovative ways never done in a SW game. Link basically had The Force. And they chose this, which can be any game really. I'm ok with stepping out of the Force universe, but this seems like a gameplay loop I've seen already.

Everything I see about this game says it looks like a beautiful 5 star meal, and plays like a fucking three day old Wendy's.
Doesn't look bad but still a major disappointment for me, feels like I've seen it all before. Apparently the planets are said to be like 2-3 AC Odyssey zones and there are 5 planets. Here I assume they show a "dungeon". I won't ignore it but I need to see open world gameplay, it's my favorite genre and here it looks linear and like the first Uncharted from 2007 but not as visually appealing or as cool and with worse animations and a boring main protag and no humour.

You are onto something.. like the entire point of that helmet and armor is to prevent blunt force trauma.
I can't believe no one had the thought to use some shocking gadget or something like that instead, it makes no sense. The only logical answer to this I can come up with is that it would be incompatible with "muh strong female, force is female now" type of people.

I really want to like this game, but they're doing everything in their power to turn me off to it. They're doing all the things I hoped Starfield would do but then the core gameplay is limp noodle.

That trooper take down... it's hundreds of years into the future in a galaxy far far away but they don't have blaster silencers or stun guns?

I can understand the lack of set pieces when you're in the open world... but when you funnel the player into these linear sections but you still don't do anything creative with the level design and setpieces then what are you even doing?

As for the demographic thing, it's just hilarious these far leftists think they can fight against human nature at every turn. Hard lesson for them. Whatever, It's their grave.

The gameplay looks meh. Lots of holding forward and nothing else, a cutscene, walk some more, scripted sequence, shoot for a while... the usual.

Bro.........you're describing a video game lol
What!? No, that is not describing a (good) video game

Was just playing MGS3 where you have to take a pill to fake kill yourself in order to get past an area, change camo gear to fit the environment for more stealth,
Using lethal or non lethal effects gameplay, im fighting a boss where you have to use night vision and track footsteps. You can even do interesting things like pause the game for days, and the boss will die of hunger because you made him wait.
So much more than just 'walking,, shooting, cutscene''

It never ceases to amaze me how low some of your guys' standards are for interesting gameplay

Stop acting like boring games aren't fun, you guys act like you don't drop 50 hours farming runes in elder scrolls or mining minerals on fake planets in star field. We knew Star Wars Jedi survivor was amazing, now a true open world Star Wars game is coming out and I think because it's not named Kotor people are pissed.

Looks interesting. Like that there are space battles.

I'm noticing a pattern with you. You like bad games, as long as there is space combat. You're a simple man. Easy to read. Space does for you what great tits on an ugly chick does to me. We're the same. You and I. We're both trash. 😘
