Almost 30 minutes of Star Wars Outlaws 4K gameplay demo

Looks really pretty but all I can see is a mix of tomb raider slides, fallen order static backgrounds, UC4s grappling hook.

I might play it in 2 years but there's a reason I didn't have any interest in jedi survivor. Just feels way too samey with no real style behind it

I grew up an absolute Star Wars fanatic. I was so excited when Disney bought it and we were getting more. Episode 7 was one of the most anticipated media events ever for me.

I'm not blaming any one thing on this. But I legitimately care so little for the Star Wars IP right now that it is actually crazy. If you had told me a decade ago that we would have this much Star Wars content in the world I would have thought it was a dream come true. If you told me all of this content would exist and I wouldn't give a fuck about any of it? I never would have believed you. I still haven't even seen Episode 9, a mainline movie, and I see no reason to change that. The Jedi Survivor games, which are very well regarded, look fucking mind numbingly boring to me

Obviously I am just one example. I have seen tons of people saying 'Usual Ubisoft open world with a Star Wars skin is a dream game' so I'm glad that my Millennial Star Wars experience is not what is happening for everyone else. But at this point I think the Star Wars connection actually makes me less interested in something like this. Kind of sucks, my 10 year old self is so disappointed, but oh well.
I'm like you...but how have you not watched episode 9? I'm guessing you read the plot somewhere at least. It's crazy to think that Disney fucked up star wars so much that old hardcore fans like you and me don't even care anymore.

I see all the decisions warner bros executives have made the last few years and think that producers are just totally brain dead.

I can't believe no one had the thought to use some shocking gadget or something like that instead, it makes no sense. The only logical answer to this I can come up with is that it would be incompatible with "muh strong female, force is female now" type of people.

These misguided devs believe that females can do EVERYTHING that men can do, no matter if such a thing is likely or possible in the real world. It's drilled into the heads of girls in the western world there's NOTHING that women can't do and the way to do this is by inserting characters in video games who go against commonly held stereotypes that it's primarily men who do hard physical labor, or that men are physically stronger than women, that the vast majority of men and women are hetereosexual, etc.

It must be hell to write a video game story with various interesting male characters and then have to face woke critics in your studio who start complaining "why is the absolute best arena fighter in Horizon Forbidden West another guy? What kind of example is that to little girls who play the game and now think they'll never be able to achieve their dream of being a mixed martial arts champion? No, Aloy should fight a retired 70 years old Asian woman in the Fighting Arena quest. to go against stereotypes!" And so it happens.

And then the same conversation would likely happen with each character and changes will be made to appease the woke elements in that studio who'd otherwise never shut up with their complaints. Must be truly exhausting to normal folks.

Looks boring as fuck.

Also will they stop with these retarded takedowns. This looks ridiculous

Is it Mr Glass in that stormtrooper suit or something?

Backhand slap from a feather weight woman while wearing a helmet, there's suspending disbelief and there's whatever this is..

The chad play for the developer here would be her doing this, shouting "ah fuck my hand" while shaking it off and running away to cover.

Lol what the...

How did nobody at any point go "wait a minute..."

I'm noticing a pattern with you. You like bad games, as long as there is space combat. You're a simple man. Easy to read. Space does for you what great tits on an ugly chick does to me. We're the same. You and I. We're both trash. 😘

I was going to say except I have no STDs and then I realized Ass of Can Whooping Ass of Can Whooping is a rash that just won't go away so nevermind.

Yea I just didn't care about reading spoilers for ep 9,and when I did it just seemed so stupid and pointless. Years ago when I had D+ I started it, and just didn't care at all, didn't even make it 10 minutes. Maybe someday...

Oh, you don't have to tell me buddy, you have no idea how tired I am of this clown world

Is it using the same or similar combat to Fallen Order or Jedi Survivor? If so o don't even need to see gameplay to be interested.

....all this because she hits a dude in the back of the head really hard?
FPZVQRL.jpeg

This is the franchise where a 120 lb 20 year old girl choked out 3,000lb crime lord with her bare hands. In 83.

Besides its well known stormtroopers armor is garbage its literally an in canon thing. It offers barely any protection from blunt force trauma.

She force choked him. The chain was to hide her identity,

I was skipping around the video and any time I stopped it, she was slowly meandering through the environment.

The walking simulator vibes are strong with this one.

Don't know if that looks very fun.

It's not so much that its's unrealistic, It's more so that it just looks lazy.
Why not have her jump and choke him? Or remove his helmet and bash him in the head with it? Or bang his head against the wall, or use the environment in some creative way?
Just something different, interesting, creative? Do people not think or care about that anymore?

okay, here's what i figure: when you manage to whack the helmet hard enough, it creates a sorta 'clapper in a bell' effect? but with the guy's head as the clapper? so he's sorta, via his head, both making & hearing the ringing at the same time? no? okay, lemme give it some more thought...

Its supposed to be a quick, silent take down(which is why she doesn't let him ragdoll onto the ground), all of those are significantly longer to execute and louder unless the guys mute.

Did you know that Topher Topher is an ugly chick with huge sweater muffins?

The game design feels so outdated at every level I can't believe they still use the same things over and over again: hey shoot that big interrupter that's highlighted by your "spiritual sense" or oh look that wall you can climb with a clearly defined path etc etc...
We already played this game before and I'm sure that was far better than anything this SW has to offer beside some vistas. Yet, I'm posting this for good measure: this is the actress Humberly González playing and doing mocap for Kay Vess:

Just... why?

Worried about the Uncharted-style gameplay between combat. Kind of removes the 'adventure' from 'action-adventure' when you're just climbing everything marked as yellow and most things seem scripted. Why can't the player work that out and see what they need to climb themselves. Also, FFS why does every game have to have a 'see enemy through walls' mechanic.
Other than that (lol), I'm looking forward to this. Cautiously optimistic.

I genuinely believe the reason this doesn't look exciting to most of us is the person playing.

Like a rifle is on the ground to pick up, and you don't. You have an enemy dead to rights, then you decide to take cover and let it get away for no reason. Instead of quickly getting places, you slow walk.

When you play your own game like a dip shit you make the game look bad.

That said I'll wait on reviews lol.

Side note: I'm not sure why people keep entering threads about Ubisoft video games with anticipation and hype in mind, and then become disappointed and upset that the game is designed like an Ubisoft game.

Vaas made it very clear to you all generations ago, yet you all still do it, over and over and over.

I was excited for this one but the lack of challenge seen in the gameplay videos is quite the turn-off...

Don't know.... that "backhand on helmet" takedown doesn't really help either 🤣

It's probably not fair to Star Wars Outlaws because billions of other games are guilty of this too (and I'm sure you can disable it), but why do developers continue to insist on having objective markers/compasses that literally tell you which way to go? Is the average player really that braindead? Or are the average game developers incapable of crafting well-designed games anymore that intuitively guide you to your objective?

I think what makes it more glaring here is that it couldn't look more linear with corridors going straight through, so what are they afraid of? Players getting lost? In that case maybe they should've implement what Mario Kart does when you go in reverse: basically telling players "hey fuckward, turn 180 degrees around". Would be better than an objective marker.

To do what you say she probably broke half of her hand bones...

In all honesty, ubisoft OW games requiring 100/150h to finish WITH these markers, i'm not sure i'd be willing to remove them and expand the awesome grinding experience a few 50h more mate.

Overall the gameplay looks like "run of the mill" / "been there done that" / "Oh I know this one" in a Star Wars setting....
Can´t say it gets me excited but I might look at it again in a sale maybe.

Also it really bothers me that that girl can knock out Stormtroopers trough their helmets with bare hands.

Looks very derivative - immediately put me in mind of the Horizon series but with clunkier animations, less dramatic traversal, and more pedestrian combat. I don't even care much for Horizon, but why would I play a game like this if I could play something like Forbidden West?

It bothers me in a lot of games, but it actually makes sense in Star Wars, both because of the retrofuturistic tech and because the worlds will be so large and featureless that it would be impossible to really design them in a way that the character can be guided by landmarks.

As much as I disline them,bI will say that quest markers are better than Fable II's quest line, which not only tells you where the objective is, but traces out a path for you. Honestly, at that point, really do just make it linear.
