then why are you in this thread if you haven't seen the first season?
Where does it say "season 2"?OP said:American Horror Story: Asylum |OT| Nuns, and nazis, and scares! Oh, my!
Where does it say "season 2"?
You are forgiven.OK, so I read the OP, I jumped to conclusions. Oops! Sorry guys, my bad.
:/
Not to mention, as it's been stated several times in this thread and others, this season is completely self-contained. Some actors have returned, some have not. Those who have returned are playing completely different characters.
Frances Conroy is the latest star of American Horror Story Season 1 to join the spooky FX series second chapter, subtitled Asylum.
Showrunner Ryan Murphy announced the Emmy nominees casting via Twitter on Wednesday, revealing that AHS: Asylum will involve devils and angels, with Conroy playing the ultimate angel. (In Season 1, she shared the role of haunted house-keeper Moira with Alexandra Breckenridge.)
As previously revealed by the Glee boss, Asylum which centers on a circa-1960s East Coast institution for the insane, run by Jessica Langes character is about sanity and tackling real life horrors.
Like Conroy and Lange, Zachary Quinto, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and Lily Rabe (who in Season 1 played Chad, Billie Dean, Tate and Nora, respectively) will return for Asylum, but as completely new characters.
Brand-new to AHS, meanwhile, are Big Loves Chloe Sevigny (as a nympho patient), FlashForwards Joseph Fiennes (priest), Oscar nominee James Cromwell (doctor/adversary for Lange), French actress Lizzie Brocheré and Maroon 5′s Adam Levine, while Britne Oldford, Clea Duvall, Jenna Dewan, Franka Potente and Mark Consuelos are among the recurring and guest stars. American Horror Story: Asylum launches Wednesday, Oct. 17 at 10/9c.
I knew you were a Heathen the minute you created this thread, OP.
May the Lord have mercy on your wicked soul.
I was really hyped for this until I read an interview that saidpretty much killed my hype.no ghosts in season 2

Im still going to watch it, I just won't be that excited until hopefully they win me over. That makes me even more excited. The writers have to be creative and not rely on a crutch for multiple seasons, such asghosts
This makes me so happy... <3 Frances Conroy...I forgot to mention this in the OP, I've added.

Is it bad that I started watching this show and kept watching it because it was so ridiculous/bad, but then started actually liking it for what it is? I don't know, maybe I just like bad horror stuff, but it honestly elevated out of "guilty pleasure" status for me, and I feel like I may be the only one. There were ridiculous stuff throughout the show to be sure, and there were certain moments where I just said, "you have to be fucking kidding me Ryan Murphy." ..But there was also some genuinely interesting stuff tried in the first season. Maybe it was just trapped around all the ridiculousness. Also, I was simultaneously watching Mad Men at the time, so maybe a show this fast-paced was a nice change from
Mad Men.the sometimes ridiculously boring
The ensemble for American Horror Story: Asylum continues to get bigger, and better. The latest addition to the FX spookfest, which opens its second chapter next Wednesday: British actor Ian McShane, who during his run on HBOs Deadwood won a Golden Globe and earned an Emmy nomination.
I had no idea you guys disliked the first season. Lol. It was one of my favorite shows of last year.
People tend to hate most of Ryan Murphy's stuff. I do agree it's a bit of an acquired taste.
Though some will argue that there is no element of taste involved at all.![]()
Can't wait for this.
Query. I've read in the OP that this is set in the 60's but that Maroon 5 guys segment in the first episode is modern day, any word on whether we are going to be primarily modern with flashbacks ala season 1, or primarily 1960 with flash forwards??
Is first season only available on DVD?
I'm kind of interested in watching this, might just start without the first since there's no continuity.

Nope, it's on blu ray too!
Eh, I meant not available on Netflix/Hulu. Although I'm sure you were joking![]()
