That was way more entertaining than anything last season produced, but holy crap is the editing still as awful. So many terrific sets and shots wasted due to the incoherent, choppy editing of scenes. I don't think they once allowed a shot to linger in order to build tension or atmosphere, so i was constantly taken out of it. Did anyone seriously find this the slightest bit scary or disturbing? There was no sense of pacing. They just rushed through each and every moment without giving them a chance to sink in.

I absolutely hate the editing on this show. It gives me a headache and I find it more than a little disorienting.

One of the things i really disliked since the first season was the mixing of the soundtrack. Holy fuck how many pieces of the 'score' were just jarringly loud buzzing layered on top of something that sounds like a cat being scrubbed against a cheese grater. So many shows these days for some reason have ambient effects that are 4 times louder than the dialogue. Makes it really irritating to watch.

I caught the season premiere and I have no clue where this is going, but I'll be along for the ride (For sure!)...

I can't wait for the next episode.

Yeah, that bothered me as well. I didn't notice that in the season 2 premiere though, so that's good.

I liked the weird noise when certain things would happen or someone would say "They died" or something. It was just campy enough to work.

Yes! I am glad someone mentioned this. When Jude is asking Arden where the patients go, he just says "They died" and it makes that loud noise. It's such a cool and campy way to let you know that things are not as they seem.

Though I guess the sequence of the red mush being thrown to something was also quite telling too lol

Anyone else laugh when the douchebag inmate chucked shit through his door and it hit Eunice? That actress is so funny, I love her reactions to everything in this episode.

I did, Lily Rabe does a good job but I kind of feel like she over-acts the role.

But at the same time I think this is meant to be part of her character.

It wasn't the right color? I thought it was, now I have to go rewatch it.

It clearly was brown or yellow.

I can't believe we're discussing this

EDIT: Screencaps. I guess the "I'm Up" comment was irrelevant. :p

A teaser about next week's episode
Can you tease next week’s episode, “Trick and Treats?”
It’s our Halloween episode, and it’s about the powers of Satan. It’s about a boy who is or is not possessed who suddenly, strangely knows a lot about Sister Jude’s secrets.

The next episode is confirmed to be their "halloween" special.
Sounds like this episode could be considerably creepy, eager to watch this episode tonight. So Adam Levine's character's fate may not be known till later huh? Maybe towards the end of the season?

What the fuck. I'll give Lana the benefit of the doubt due to scrambled electroshock brains, but still. Also that kid knowing Sister Jude's backstory (which was pretty intense), guess demons are real?

Damn, I thought that was a really great episode. I love how fast-paced this show is. It's such a nice change from most of the shows I watch.

Interesting that Zachary Quinto takes the top billing this time around and not sharing it with anyone (except of course, with Jessica Lange who takes the coverted "And...." spot). In the 1st season, there seems to be a battle for the top billing with Dylan McDermott and Connie Britton's name alternating as the first listed in the opening credit (with Jessica Lange still in the "And...." spot).

Yeah I noticed that too. I guess he'll be playing a larger role.
