The beginning was scary. The woman is now locked in the cell with the manimal and Adam Levine is being stabbed in the chest by Bloody Face. What's going to happen to them now? I could see both of them being mutilated/tortured all season long to fulfill the show's torture porn quotient.

The song that plays in the common room is so catchy! Argh!

I'm glade he wasn't fully nude <.<

I'm disappointed that he wasn't.

By the way, along with the pictures of tied up women, were there also pictures of dead ones? Looks like he's the guy who's been going around killing women?

The song is not just catchy but also significant, being that it was sung by Sister Smile, "the Singing Nun" and was one of the few bits of pop music of that time period (being in the Billboard Top 100 the year before in 1963) that is so openly religious, since it's a song about one of the Saints of the Catholic faith.

It's also significant in the fact that Sister Smile is suggested to have been a lesbian. After leaving the Catholic church, she owed back taxes for royalties she never collected (it went to the church) and the church refused to acknowledge the debt. She committed suicide in 1985 together with her roommate and suspected lover, another former nun from the same order.

So it's a thoughtful inclusion, given how it runs together with some of the characters.

I like how the backstory was brought on the episode and I think it was a wonderful execution for most of the part.
The exorcism was creepier than the recent exorcism movies

Overall the tone of the story is more darker and the characters while not really relatable you just want to see what happens next and care a bit about some. The writing is way stronger than last season and minor complains which are mostly just a matter of taste than the plot being bad. I liked season 1 (even the bad acting, awful writing and some weird moments was entertaining) one but this season its blowing it out of the water on every single aspect and I definitely love the new tone of this season.

Amazingly awesome episode. James Cromwell is killing it. He needs an Emmy for this.

"Now, slowly, show me your mossy bank" to Jenny Wade dressed as a nun slayed me. What a creepy character.

The thing I'm not liking about this season is that I'm not quite sure what it's suppose to be about. With the first season I knew and understood immediately that it was a hunted house and that people probably died there. With this season it just feels like it's all over the place.

Wow, great inclusion indeed.

I need to stop watching this in bed. I started dozing off towards the end so I need to go back and watch the last 10 minutes again.

So far it's been pretty awesome though. I actually got the wife (who typically hates horror stuff) to watch this season by telling her last season really wasn't scary at all. We'll see how long this lasts, lol.

They are building tension for a later and the plot will be developed in a more mysterious way than the first season.

Right now all what everyone knows is that people are in the asylum, some are crazy and some are there for the wrong reasons. The purpose of the asylum its obvious but rather unprofessional obviously even for those times. There are monsters that have been created on that asylum as there are aliens and some supernatural things as possessions. Overall things will click a bit later than the first show without needing to make it obvious all the time. Also the backstories will play a bit role to the understandings of tons of the show later on. Obviously I'm going in without much information about it or any confirmations but its what to me is the most logical answer at the moment.

On other note: The Singing Nun is now my ringtone

Posting here because season 1 thread is dead. I'm watching that now, on Episode 5. Show is so sick and twisted, I didn't think I'd actually make it past the first couple but by about this point, it seems surprisingly normal.

Wow this is a really insightful post. I had no idea who sang the song or any of the backstory surrounding it. Fascinating stuff.

Wow, what an episode. I liked the first season, I absolutely am in love with this after two seasons.

I did not expect demons and exorcisms, but seeing as I have a huge interest in that area in TV and film I was extremely happy. Hope we see more of it, imagine we will seeing as it looks like the nun is possessed now

Holy crap, did not know this.

I wonder if it'll turn out that all the crazy stuff happening will be coming from one supernatural source (ie the aliens are doing everything, or whatever) or if it will be just this crazy mash up of demons and monsters in the forest and UFOs.

I like this much more than last season so far. Hate the name bloody face, but oh well. The acting, for the most part, is well done and the pacing is really good. First series of this season that has interested me.

Bloody Face does sound awful and weird, like a strange attempt to recreate what they had with Rubber Man.

I think there was like, eight different vagina euphemisms in this episode. :p

FULL IMPRESSIONS soonish.

So Bloody Face had long dark blond/light brown hair in the present.

I wonder if they end up turning Kit into him.

I'm guessing mash up but I'd love for them to go all in with the alien stuff.

That exorcism was really cool. While I'm only about half way through the first I think this season is already stronger.

How old would Kit be now though? I assume he'd be up there in age.

Exorcism scenes were well done, but for me surprisingly the creepier scenes during this show were with Cromwell's character. That dinner scene with that woman was cringe worthy (in a good way).

Yeah last night's episode was awesome. Best episode of the whole series IMO. I loved the exorcism scene/s. And I think it's awesome that the demon is in the younger nun now (forget her name). Great monkey wrench.

I wanna know what the creatures are in the woods. And I wonder how much of a role the aliens are going to end up playing in the grand scheme of things (assuming Kit's not actually crazy).

I'm on board for the season now after the second episode. This season already seems better than last. Absolutely crazy so far. Lange and Cromwell are amazing.

I really liked this shot in Episode 2. It did a great job at evoking those memories that I'm sure we all have. The lighting makes me think this was obviously purposeful.

I've been very busy this week but I am eager to post up some impressions of this episode. But I really, really am loving it. I love all the characters (even if they're not particularly likeable). I'm glad we're going to get a "normal" Lily Rabe back as well.

Possessed Lily Rabe is normal Lily Rabe?

So possessed Lily Rabe is normal Lily Rabe which is better than Normal non possessed Lily Rabe.

Makes sense! (LOL)

I don't know, Eunice was the only character I really wasn't "enjoying" that much. She seemed way too dense and her behaviour was just a little bit annoying and too much.

She's now more akin to all the roles I've seen her in before (in both TV and fillm) which is what I mean by that comment.

Speaking of song, that old pop song that was playing during Clea DuVall's
pre-death scene
was kind of creepy for some reason.

Just finished watching episode 2. Still digging this season. It is miles and miles better than season 1. The characters are a lot more likable (if not that relatable). The exorcism was really intriguing. Now the supernatural's bleeding into the previous sci-fi stuff, but this is a lot more interesting than the ghost crap from season 1.

Still liking Kit and Grace. They're definitely the most likable characters are fairly... heroic, I guess? Not the right word, but you get what I mean. I like Jude as the "villain". She's very, very grey and Lange plays her wonderfully. But I thought it was hilarious how she looked older in her flashback then in her nun clothes. I dunno why. James Cromwell continues being the creepiest motherfucker on the show. That whole thing with the prostitute was bizarre, and having her dress up as Jude (or Eunice).

Also, Eunice is totally playing him like a fiddle and is possibly possessed by the devil. The reporter lady (Lana, yeah?), she totally killed all chance of escape with Kit and Grace with her screwing them over. Man, common room time is gonna be awkward. I wonder if she'll find out that her lover was killed by the real BloodyFaces? I mean, he's still in the asylum, so he obviously didn't do it. That said, I feel bad for her. Involuntary incarceration and fucking medieval ECT to cure her of homosexuality. That's fucked up. Quintos was great as the disbelieving physician, but I wonder where he goes now that the kid was obviously possessed and shit. I liked his tie.

I thought for sure when all the doors opened, there'd be a riot or mass breakout attempt or something, but no such luck. As for the present, is Adam Levine dead? I mean, they don't show him dead, he just got stabbed a bunch of times. It'd be hilarious if in every episode, the wife continued running deeper and deeper into the asylum while Levine just kept getting horribly injured. Did she trap herself in the room with the thing that cut off Levine's arm? Or was that BloodyFaces as well? Finally, dude who played the possessed kid did great. Too bad he won't stick around for a while longer and troll the fuck out everybody in the asylum. He knows things.

I think I'm in love with Grace/Lizzie Brochere. She's just so mesmerizing. I love her accent and she has a gorgeous body, damn. And thank you, Google Image Search. Turn off safe search. Worth it.

Really? I thought that was just another random cell block. How stupid she has to be not remembering what happened before?

Well, I mean, there is a lunatic serial killer wearing someone else's face chasing her. There's that.

Actually, are we sure that's the same room? Cause I remember her grabbing Leo and dragging him away before dropping him and running into the room when BloodyFaces caught up.
