Hearing that the NASL is working with a group in San Francisco for future expansion, targeting a stadium site near AT&T Park (1/2)

Group is currently looking at temporary stadium sites in the interim. No clear timetable on when team would begin play (2/2)

Can confirm that the San Francisco group talking to the NASL is NOT SF City

No way they actually build a soccer stadium anywhere near AT&T Park... they'll probably end up at Kezar Stadium instead.

It's OFFICIAL: Lehigh Valley will be home to a new @USL team in 2016. http://bit.ly/1fp6C6x #LVUSL16

Name is going up to fan vote from 4 choices + a write in option. Union 2 will not be an option thankfully. Bethlehem Steel should win even if it's the write in option.

Their own supporters group rejected it... great job guys. Why were they even asked? The team name and group had totally different names aside from "Empire" and anyone can use that word.

If I remember correctly it was Empire SC, whereas the group is Empire Supporters Club

If it was Empire FC then that's just dumb.

The 2016 expansion team will play their home games at Goodman Stadium at Lehigh University. Additional details about the club will be announced at a later date including the team’s name, crest and colors. Fans can vote on the team name through PhiladelphiaUnion.com and The Morning Call’s website, www.mcall.com.
Fans can put down a season ticket deposit for the 2016 season by calling 844-LVUSL16 or by visiting PhiladelphiaUnion.com/USL.
Apparently voting starts on September 8th and ends on the 28th...

Am I reading that chart correctly in that Seattle has the league's highest revenue at $50m which is resulting in a $10m profit? Painful stuff for the league if true.

I feel like there needs to be a little asterisk next to that NYRB number since the team doesn't have a jersey sponsor and haven't sold naming rights to the stadium.

Chris Wondolowski is the first MLS player to hit for 10+ goals in six straight seasons. Juan Pablo Angel, Carlos Ruiz had five years each.

Wondo's 99th Quakes goal. 103 career (4 with Houston). at least 10 goals each season since 2010

Good thing Kinnear finally stopped using him as a midfielder!

“For the U.S. teams, being able to compete in an official competition with some of the best teams in the world in Argentina and Brazil – they are some of thee best teams in the world – then it could be really something comparable to the European UEFA Champions League. I think it could really upgrade the level and the interest and the financial point of view of soccer in the U.S. I hope we will head in that direction.”
