Among those who do support it you have to wonder how well thought out their position is- by a 51/23 margin Trump voters say that the Bowling Green Massacre shows why Trump's immigration policy is needed.

Jesus Christ.

The polls never said this. Right before the election they said it was close.

The aggregators gave the overall chances of a Hillary win anywhere from around 67% (fivethietyeight) to 99% (pollster.com). Generally they were floating around 80 or 90% from the NYT etc.

Going by the polling consensus a Clinton loss was quite unlikely but not impossible. And, well.

Its a start, just remember that you need 2 thirds of a Senate full of cartoon villains and cowards so you are still far. You should probably be going after the republicans, make them realize Trump is a liability for their careers.

Ethnicity is not a race!
If voters could choose they'd rather have both Barack Obama (52/44) or Hillary Clinton (49/45) instead of Trump.

I blame every single lazy fucker who stayed at home and those Bernie or Buster assholes. Fuck them all.

They voted for the candidate that they wanted. Fuck them huh?

You should blame Clinton's campaign for not going to the states she needed to win.

Look, I know we all really don't like Trump but you DO NOT want him impeached.

Because then you get Pence as President.

Mr. Electrocuting gay people will make them straight again Pence.

I'll stick with Trump.

If it gets Bannon out, I will totally take Pence. Yes, he's horrible. Trump and Bannon are just that horrible that Pence is actually still the preferable option. Trump won't do better than Pence anyways on anything and Pence at least is able to do foreign diplomacy and maybe not try to turn the country into a more fascist state.

I've actually started looking at the numbers behind these polls and there's always something neat...

Page 14... if you voted for Hilary you pretty much support impeaching Trump, if you voted for Trump you oppose.

Page 10, if you voted for Hilary or Stein, you disapprove of Trump, if you voted for Trump you still approve of him.

In other news, 95% of those polled believe Water is wet!

That Stein regret is pretty tasty tbh

RCP showed single digit differences. Which is about right

Does poll have a breakdown per state or are weighted because we've been through these polls before.

No breakdown per state. Just along age/race and ideology. Not even a region.

What does that matter? It's a national opinion poll, not an election.

You would get quite a different result from polling in a majority of blue states vs a majority of red states. The poll only featured 712 respondents so wouldn't be hard to get a bias either way, especially with not showing where the respondents came from.

Poll breakdown by ideology was 39 Democraft, 31 Republican, 30 other.

This has been the longest month.

He really isn't. Pence is just quiet. He is much more evil though.

Untrue. Pence is a run of the mill shitty Republican however he understands the concept of political capital and isn't an unstable narcissist that makes potentially war threatening tweets at 2AM because someone said something mean. Trump is worse for America. worse for the world. Trump and his puppet masters are dangerous beyond typical conservative regressive policies and they don't stand in the way of those policies anyway.

The polls were messed up because Trump voters didn't have the balls to say they were voting for him

I thought the polls were messed up because of overwhelming support from rural whites and suppression of minority voters

Edit: also the comey letter probably effected it a bit.

Yep. I'd take a stable evil prick over an unstable one any day. Don't think Pence would keep Bannon around either.

yall had that fucking chance and you threw it away. BYE

She was going to lose regardless. All the people who could've voted for her don't live in rural areas.

How? Can you just say anything and half of the country will believe it? What the hell.

Well, you can't. You probably have an education, credentials, or at least a modicum of respectability. You have to specifically be a carnival barker or snake oil salesman--not due to requiring those skill sets, mind, but just because that chunk of Americans (which is less than half, as it's a subset of a subset, mind) are actively seeking them out as opinion leaders for some asinine reason.

The other 5% believe that water is actually the Bowling Green Massacre.

Trump is rocking the boat. Regardless of the actual policies, just how active he has been in these first few weeks is throwing off politicians and constituents alike.

A large portion of Trump Supporters have drank the kool-aid and are firmly in the Cult of Trump. They could say that the sky was red and his cult would believe them.

Please explain to me the reasons that aren't classifiable as racism that could cause a majority of a demographic (Trump voters) to believe a massacre that the united states government lied about is a valid reason to impose an immigration and refugee ban.

Given how utterly shredded the statement of its existence was I refuse to believe ignorance is an acceptable answer, and I believe willful ignorance where you only accept information from compromised sources equates largely to racism anyway.

Impeached just because they don't like him or did he commit "treason, bribery, or other high crimes and misdemeanors"?

I'm curious if 46% of the country even know what impeachment entails.

Congress determines what that is, in practice. I mean, if we considered lying about oral sex an impeachable offense, then Donald Trump is probably done a hell of a lot worse. If a Democrat pulled a stunt like that Yemen assault in this putrid environment, they'd be in a lot of trouble over it to be sure.

What it really in entails, I guess, is whether enough Republicans feel threatened by what President Trump does next in order to try to get rid of him.

Pence is a more level headed person. I trust Pence not to push the nuke button the moment a foreign dignitary slights him.

The Trump voters will believe everything that comes from Trump or his cabinets and won't believe anything the comes from the mainstream media. It's as simple as that.
