Just giving you guys a head's up. He's borrowing an account and can still get links. Post at your own risk.

He just want to install fears and hates here. Just stop referring him here or post the conversation here.

Just let him do it since it's his money.

If you kept it up then you are giving him what he want.

So..maybe avoid GameStops if you're a collector..heh https://twitter.com/square_triangle/status/551247590571139072

It's funny but downright cruel.
Because kids TOTALLY never collect things. & they're the ones who'll know the more obscure characters like Marth. & we adults would NEVER actually open them & use them for their intended purpose while displaying them on the side, right?

Thank god my GameStop has the same 3ish employees and know me as one of their more frequent customers. As long as you sell the item, what does it matter who its sold to (excluding the obvious M-rated games to minors without parent's consent)? First come, first serve.

So that's your twitter. Yeah, your friend is scumbag for doing that and judging people. Mainly he probably assume that all adults that came in for Amiibo are collectors.

I don't always bring family members to pick up Amiibo because it can be hassles to look all over the stores with kids.

Edited: to clarifying something, his plan might seem great idea on the paper but it's not. Most of parents usually shopping without the kids when they are in school, etc.

Pretty much this. Kids might just want to have them sit on their shelf, adults might be using it for a game, or even buying it FOR their kids.

They should be up for groups for anyone
cept scalpers.

Got a really good Samus yesterday. Local Gamestop had seven of them, and all but two had severe leaning. Had half a mind to pick up the second, but that would open the floodgates into two of other things as well.

I understand that in the end basically all of the Smash set will be cycled out, but Luigi is looking like a safe one to wait on, right? Trying not to buy more than one amiibo every two weeks, and Kirby is looking to be the next pickup. He should still be around next month... I hope.

Luigi is pretty much the most popular Wave 2 character. I'm sure there's no shortage of him, considering people most likely know who he is. I feel like the more popular the character, the better chance you can find them.

Really terrible thing to do. He's not being the hero he thinks he is. How does he know how someone will use it and who is he to decide which customers should be allowed to buy it. Imagine if all retailers did this, "oh yeah you don't look like you really like Sony, sorry were all out of ps4's. Or "look at this fat guy. He's had enough cake, I'm gonna hide it in the back so someone else can have it."

I'd probably get pretty annoyed getting calls from the same group of people multiple times a day asking if they got the 5 or 6 super rares. Not that it's right to hide them, but I understand.

I used to get a bunch of calls from Skylanders people when I worked at GS and they first came out. It wasn't too bad, but questions were vague like "do you have any ___ element in?" I guess some were hard to find, so I would have to go look at the boxes and figure out what emblem would match to that element and then name them out.

NOTHING though, will be more annoying than the "do you have any Wiis/Wii Fits??" days. NOTHING.

Always preorder on Amazon. No money down, and it will ship eventually if not on day one. Anyone else you can't find on that site preorder in store at GameStop.

Thanks, I might just do that. I've started collecting, but only the characters that I'm really into, so this should be doable.

I think you're safe with waiting on Luigi, or any of the main Mario crew, really (removing Rosalina of course).

Everything else, pre order, and from multiple places if you can afford the time/money/effort.

if you see it you better buy it while you still have the chance. I have rarely ever seen us get more shipments of amiibo. We got 8 luigis and I got 2 for myself. They were gone within an hour.

Guys, there is a few rare one going up in this link every now and then
.

Don't do this man, I still need Villager. D:

In regards to the buy when you see logic, that's the exact thing I'd like to do, but it leads into such bad habits. I'd have two of everything already if I didn't restrain myself.

Luigi is pretty common for the most part. I'd say to just wait and get the common guys on sales. Stuff like Falcon and Pit and such are much rarer so you need to snap them up when you can. However, commoners like Weegee, Kirby, etc you can just wait for a sale to get them on. TRU is doing a bogo 40% off but today is the last day, and I don't believe I saw any sales for this upcoming week. Maybe next week.

Went from depressed I need a Pit guy to Pit Richy Rich in 30 minutes!

My Best Buy order finally showed up yesterday and they actually held it for me. I will be opening this one as they didn't really respect the box. Got that large pickup sticker all over the back (came off pretty well) and for good measure they stapled some worthless home furniture coupon to the top. They could have at least offered a gaming related discount coupon since it was late and I had to make 2 trips.

Came home to find....

I forgot I ordered this Game Stop one. That was thanks to a post here one night I think and my constant fear of Best Buy not coming through. Good on Game Stop for the packaging! I saw others have the same setup but nice big box and like 6 air pillows. Good on you GS.

I also have a TRU one in route as well ha. Like I said I never trusted BB. Should make Wave 3 interesting for my wallet.

Shoot, Toys-R-Us was still running their sale? Thought that ended last week. Seen to remember that being talked about before Christmas, lol.

At above: GameStop has been pretty great with my Falcon and Pit preorders. GameStop has been great in general for the past three years. I quit giving business to our Frys and Best Buy when some Collectors Editions showed up bent, dented, and all around beat up. YMMV by area, of course, but GS has been my go-to for a while.

I'd probably tell people who call in we were out of them. I can't imagine how many times they get calls hoping to find Marth. But hiding them in the back and lying to someone who walks in trying to find a product is about as judgmental as someone can be.

It's also why I pretend to not have any idea what the hell these things are when I talk to people about them at the store as if I'm buying them for someone else.

I went to a Gamestop yesterday and asked if they had Falcon. They said they didn't. I called the same store later and asked if they did, they said they do and put it on hold for me.

There's definitely some ignorance or intentional favoritism at play at Gamestop.

I'm sure it's not this, but perhaps they got a shipment in? Mine was helpful in finding Samus. He saw one in the back when I was looking and turns out I got the last one. Though again, different employees & mine sees me as one of their more frequent customers, so they probably want me to keep shopping there.

They've had two sales if I recall correctly. They charge an extra dollar, so so pushing a sale isnt going to hurt.

I read the whole amiibo-thread #1 without writing anything. Some days ago I got my first amiibos: Kirby, Captain Falcon and Fox.

I still think that the NFC-part is kinda underwhelming, but man does it feel good to scan those little suckers in Hyrule Warriors. (Although I got like 5 of 9 times 1 rupee, what's up with that..).However, I'm positively surprised at the quality of the amiibos I must say. I really like them and obviously I want more.

Ordered Link
And DonkeyKong, Samus and Yoshi
And obviously also Pit, Zelda and Little Mac .... Help me

Also, it's sad to see that so many fellow North American GAFers have to go through so much trouble to get those figurines. I hope those damn scalpers get what they deserve...

So my 4-year-old daughter knows I've been collecting Amiibo (daddy's toys.) Well, today at Best Buy while I customarily stood shaking my head in front of the Amiibo display at the pathetic lack of figures, she ran over and took a Princess Peach off the hook and put it in our cart, looking at me, waiting for me to tell her to put it back.

But I didn't! What can I say, she wants a princess Amiibo of her own. So I promised her after her nap this afternoon, we can scan it into Mario Kart and play as play as my daughter's Mii and unlock the princess suit.

Amiibo!

Man this cold is getting to me, but that made me feel better.

Just nice. Gave me the good feels.

Me and my daughter (7 yr old) wet to grab Pit from BB today. We discussed burning down the establishment if they sold our preorder from under us. ha She gets it, minors dont go to jail. Her thirst is real. Just look at these eyes. You dont mess with her Amiibo collecting!

Got my Luigi and Captain Falcon.

Looking for a Pit, like many of you, my Best Buy messaged me saying my store wasn't going to be able to fulfill my "pickup". So they switched to the closest store in Ithaca, NY that I need to go and get, only.. It's "processing" for the past week.. So I'm probably not going to get it..

So I'm at square 1. Grrr

I do have a Diddy and Mac to trade (out of box) don't ask.. My wife opened them on accident.. (Grrrrrrr)

If any one is looking for them, I'm willing to sell or trade for under cost, since out of box

Blah. Been trying to find Captain Falcon all day. My neighborhood was swept clean at all the Gamestop's, Best Buy, Targets, and Wal-marts I stopped by there was nothing but common amiibo's.

CAPTAIN FALCON WHERE ARE YOU1?

Alright, selling Pit in box for $15 (what I paid) plus shipping. I'm located in the US (Utah) so shipping I'm estimating to the US would be 3-5 bucks. Villager is in stock at amazon.de so I'm gonna pick him up there so no need to trade.

Same thing help a gaffer out

Do not pass GameStop, do not collect 200 preorders.

An amibo monoply sounds fun, Marth and Villager are the two most expensive properties, and instead of houses and hotels we put amazon listing and ebay listing.

Cards can read stuff like "You found a Fox amiibo in a Disney Infinity display, go to Go."

That's an amazing idea. And of course, amiibos are the pieces.

Just bought Villager from amazon.de. My orders from both Play-Asia and Amazon France didn't have release dates, but this one does!

Folowing up with the monopoly idea.

Instead of Rail Roads we have the Retail Stores with exclusives: Target. GameStop, Best Buy, Toys R Us.

For Utilities we have Amazon.de and amazon.fr

Instead of a parking spot we have NeoGAF.

And instead of Mortage you ¨Open the Box¨
