I've been going with names that reference some part of the character's history. For instance, my Samus is named "Bailey" (for the "Justin Bailey" code) and my Fox is named "Argo" (in reference to Argonaut, co-developers of the first Star Fox).

So I received my BB and GS Pits today. But BB has not been reliable so I actually forgot I had made a couple back up plans. Now I have an Amazon one that just shipped and a TRU that shipped yesterday (from the Lucario cancellation debacle). BB should be held responsible for my Amiibo phobia and refund me for these 4 Pits ha.

Samus (Green) - Saymoose. The Green Color is a reference to some kind of galactic federation mass produced off brand suit, so I went with an off brand name

Me and my daughter (7 yr old) wet to grab Pit from BB today. We discussed burning down the establishment if they sold our preorder from under us. ha She gets it, minors dont go to jail. Her thirst is real. Just look at these eyes. You dont mess with her Amiibo collecting!

Okay, you convinced me. I wasn't sure if Nintendo would be able to license these characters and then short them, but after I missed out on Captain Falcom you're right, it's not worth it. It's not like Capcom seems to have any vested stake in promoting Mega Man.

Family Photo, with Holy Trinity 2.0 in the middle. I have a second set of them comiing minus little mac. Plus I have 6 common ones shipping to me, and the original holy trinity. The entire fam should be here by mid january.

I'm gonna open some up eventually, but the packaging really is nice. Wish they didn't have that metallic strip blocking the signal if sealed.
Agreed, and I will too. I just want a proper display. I plan on opening the commons I have coming in the mail (mario, pikachu, dk, etc).
There is a decent guide online showing how to open them without damaging the box too bad. I may go that route when I do eventually open them.
The metal strip def sucks, but I think its so that little shits wont buy it, lvl it to 50 and return it.
Right now I have 2 ikes pre-ordered, but no Toon Link or Sonic. I have a feeling those will be easier to find than some of the other Wave 3.
If not, I kind of enjoy hunting. So Ill atleast have a few to hunt down once they finally release. Finding a pit and cpt falcon locally was a pretty sweet ordeal, so I wont mind finding a Toon Link or Sonic that way either.

I called 2 locations this morning in hopes that pre-order would magically open up, but they couldnt even find the figure in their system to pre-order (no pre-order cards either). The guy went in the back to check stock for me and ofcourse he didnt find anything.
Here is the ad. I wonder what will go down tomorrow? My local best buy is a barren wasteland. I went today and only saw 2 peach and 1 luigi. Seriously, that was all.

I asked the guy outright and he said they didn't get any in over a week. Given the condition of the case, I can only imagine it was a return (best case scenario) or they just were too lazy to look the first trip (worst case scenario).
I would just go for it. I pre-ordered all of wave 3 (minus the exclusives) at gamestop, and it's such a relief. Now I'm reading these reports that Ike or Dedede or Sonic etc. are predicted to be rare and just chuckling.
Meanwhile, refreshing Little Mac's amazon page every 5 seconds for the 2nd day in a row...
I think someone mentioned it seemed possible Nintendo would save the "hidden" characters for last. Though at the very least, it reconfirms that everyone is indeed getting an amiibo eventually.Brian★;145900108 said:

I was gonna say I'm pretty surprised to see a custom one of this level that quickly I guess most people on the ones they have moddified used paint or a 3d printer to make them. I wish I had a 3d printer... so much could be done...

I haven't pre-ordered Mega Man yet (I haven't pre ordered a single Amiibo actually and have found and bought every one I've wanted). People seem to be suggesting just pre-ordering to be safe, but from what I've seen a lot of pre-orders haven't really meant anything.
People have had orders cancelled, shipments not arrive until 2-3 weeks after I was seeing certain figures in my local stores. It seems that whether I choose to pre-order or hunt for it there's no real guarantee on when/if I'll find the ones I'm looking for.

If you preorder you're just risking your preorder not being filled.
If you don't preorder, you're risking never finding the figure ever on top of not having any shot at a reserved one.
If there's an Amiibo you really really want, preorder it. You'll be spending the money anyway.
Just don't preorder from TRU or Best Buy.
I know all the stories from the old thread but outside of the Mass TRU cancellation I've had no issues with TRU nor Best Buy. In all honesty I've had more issues with Amazon and Gamestop than either one of those. And the best packing job I've gotten has been all of wave 1 from TRU.

Today is my last full day in Tokyo after a three week vacation. I was in the "not interested in these" camp until about a week ago, but then I randomly found four hard to find (in the US at least) Amiibo and now I'm hooked. I'm headed back to Akiba and Nacano to hopefully find something I don't own or have on order from Best Buy Us. Since I'm late to the craze, I missed out on all the retailer exclusive reserves. I'm going to have to try my luck in stores on release, import, or pay inflated prices second hand. Anyway, wish me luck today!

I've had 3 TRU cancellations and BB still has not shipped my Pit or CF. Been being prepared for a week now.
So personally I will not be using either again outside of having to, for exclusives. It will be all Amazon for me. Who have shipped my amiibos just as well as any of the others, at least here in Phoenix.
So yeah it's anecdotal for each one of us because we all have our own experiences but I'll go with the places that haven't messed with my orders.
Interesting, the person selling that is about 5 minutes away...I'd love to see how they did it
