Wait did amazon.fr just put on region blocking on amiibos.
Seems like Amazon.fr won't ship to Canada.
Is this a new thing?
What about Amazon.it?

I ordered from them before and it worked, I guess they are smartening up.
There goes any possible chance of imports. I really relied on them cause preorder windows disappear quickly.

I ordered on the 5th of December along with the second part of wave 3. But yeah Nintendo really needs to sort out on the stocks, I don't like having to scramble waiting for them to up on pre-order.

The scalpers didn't help matter either.

I sure hope no one is going to be running if there's no ticket system at my store. Plan on being there early and don't want some jerk running past me if I'm near the front.

Discovered this last night when Wave 4 went up. I ordered a few Amiibo from them before with no problems. Sucks. No idea of proxy though.

That's why you talk to the manager today and ask them to do it. Explain how it's safer for your customers to implement an actual policy and will enable more customers to be happy rather than one happy scalper and a TON of angry customers.

Got back from my wave 3B hunt in germany, it's starting to get ugly. Plenty of Sonic and Mega Man, but for the other three it's just bad. These images are from the store where i usually have no problems getting any of the previous amiibo:

No Dedede at all, one Mega Knight. They ordered 14 Shulk, how many did they get? One. They got f*cking one. Had to visit 3 other stores to get all the amiibo I wanted to get. The situation was similar in all of them. Many Mega Man/Sonic and barely anyone else. Good luck finding those in a few days or even weeks. These three will join Little Mac and Rosalina pretty soon.I wonder how bad it will be in other parts of europe.

So I called my local Best Buy on Monday to see how many Meta Knight amiibos they'd have for Friday and I was told they would have 5 extra that were not preordered. I decided to call again today to double-check and was now told that they will only have TWO of them for Friday. They said it's first come, first serve and they'll be hanging in the video games section with the other amiibos.

However, the employee I spoke to today told me that the Best Buy that's like a half-hour from me will have 34 Meta Knight amiibos. 34! Wow! Fortunately, I know someone who lives there and I asked him to grab one for me tomorrow morning and I'll pay him back. Just in case I don't get one of the 2 near me. Hoo boy, this is getting insane...

Nintendo already explained the shortages are due to the strikes and stuff. Wait, you're in Germany? Nintendo must have an explanation for that. Perhaps Nintendo will say they ship all worldwide Amiibo to the US first then is distributed here and then resent out to the rest of the world after. RIIIIIIGGGGGHHTTTTT. Perhaps Nintendo thinks we actually believe all their woes are other people's fault.

Yep. Toys R Us, Argos, Tesco, Very, John Lewis etc all have Amiibos available but only on launch day. You can't pre-order from them which I why I end up physically going to the store or ordering around 7am.

Thanks for the heads-up. As I didn't see them on the Argos site, I assumed they wouldn't be getting any stock. I'll check first thing in the morning!

As much as I want to get my hopes up I have a hard time believing that there is 5,000 of each of the holy trinity on those boats that are waiting to dock.

Finally got Sonic from Gamestop, I have to go into Dublin to pick up my Shulk and De De De, with any luck I'll find a Meta Knight and my Local Game shop says he'll hold me a Megaman.

I have more money than sense.

Uh, so, why is GameStop actually calling my roommate to inform him that Amiibos are now one per household, and that they have very limited supply?
 
Just got a call from GameStop saying my King Dedede preorder will be available to pick up on Wednesday. Hopefully nothing gets screwed up.
 
Just got the call: Ike will be ready for pickup from GS on Wednesday. Not that there was any doubt, but the memo is legit. One per person.

Still no update on my Mega Man though...
 
Just got some automated calls from Gamestop confirming I can pick up Ike and Dedede on Wednesday no problem. Thank god.

The end of Wave 3 hell is finally in sight. Onward to a pleasant wave 4 future, so long as Amazon UK doesn't cancel anything :x
 
 
I just got a robot call from Gamestop telling me my Dedede will be available "later this summer" due to high demand and low stock. I felt like I got punched in the gut-- I'm used to them getting my amiibo pre-orders in a few days after everyone else seems to get them, but this is something else.

I've been away from the amiibo thread for awhile, so my reaction might be my fault for not keeping up with the latest info. I'll be looking for another Dedede at any rate.

Edit: Jesus Christ-- immediately after posting this, I received another call about Ike being available "later this spring" for the same specified reason. And here I was under the assumption that Gamestop was the best place to pre-order after getting screwed with wave 1-2 elsewhere... At least they're not outright cancelled, I guess.
