Amiibo Thread 5 | Because we didn't preorder thread 4

I have been thinking about the future of amiibo, and how an Animal Crossing Wii U game is probably going to make me line up in the cold to get an amiibo of a bed.

Had the worst customer service experience of my life at Best Buy today, and its completely killed any desire I had to go up there tomorrow morning for Metaknight.

Fuck Pensacola Best Buy.

Best Buy is a really trashy company and if they didn't have things that you couldn't get elsewhere, I wouldn't even bother with them. Both their stores and online.

So don't feel bad.

I'll probably end up doing for Meta Knight what I did with D3,buy one on eBay for $30 and avoid all the bullshit. The market will be flooded tomorrow for a short time and will be the best time to nab one at that price for the foreseeable future (if you didn't preorder or score).

These came today, all I need is Meta and I'm caught up :)

I don't live near one anymore and I don't order anything from them. They are unnecessary and their customer service in store is awful.

Hey amiigos. For those picking up their MK pre-orders tomorrow at BB, is there anyone still heading there early to make sure your store doesn't somehow screw things up and end up selling your pre-order? I have no faith in BB so that's what I'll be doing tomorrow.

I called Best Buy to make sure they got theirs in, and I'm locked in, they won't sell it on me, it's tagged with my name on it

Edit; I SHOULD have asked if they got Sonic in =_____=

I swear this is the third time something like this happened to you and I read it and commented on it.

See, i really wanna wait tomorrow, but they basically wouldn't tell me what they would have for inventory, and i worry if i get one, i'm taking one from someone else who pre-ordered. Moral dilemmas man.

So I randomally bought a Sheik at Target. Wasn't planning to but the figure looked really nice so yeah. My BB near me said they should have Mega Man and Meta Knight tomorrow morning when the store opens. I hope they have extras.

A ex co-worker of mine just got out of the amiibo game and sold me his 16pc open collection including Villager,Wii fit trainer, captain falcon, Fox and little Mac for $60. I was pretty happy and now I actually own opened amiibos.

Pretty good amiibo day for me. Meta Knight will be here via UPS sometime tomorrow. I got a call from Gamestop saying I can get Ike and Dedede on Wednesday.

... still nothing about Sonic and Mega Man, though (also have those pre-ordered at Gamestop). At least there is light at the end of the tunnel (for Wave 3).

Best Buy customer service online is decent I talked to 3 people so far about my Majoras Mask getting damaged in packaging. The last person to contact me just told me to keep the game and play it, mailed me a $50 gift card and put one on order if the warehouse ever gets more (we both agreed they won't)

Amazon damaged a collectors edition game packing and told me I'm SOL since they can't ship another and gave me 20% back.

I don't deal with Best Buy local for my gamers club orders I just shop online and ship direct to home.

I don't know about Sonic but my Gamestop said that Mega Man was delayed to next week.

For those that asked:

Waited 15 minutes in the video game section while the one employee couldn't figure out which controller charge cable the customer he was helping needed (she had a ps3, and he couldn't figure out which one was which), while only side eyeing me; not so much as an "ill be right with you." After he finally got her the right cord, he walks away right past me with something in his hand to go put on the shelf with, again, 0 acknowledgment. I waited a few more minutes, and after nothing, I walked to the other side of the section where he was talking to another employee in car audio. This time, he does look up at me, and, not before rolling his eyes, asks "What?" I mention I know he's probably asked about it a lot, but if he knew if he knew anything about the Metaknights for tomorrow. He audibly sighs, says no, and turns back to his friend. Confused, I ask if he could check to see if they at least had any that weren't preordered. Ignored, still talking to friend. I mention that id rather not have to wait 2 hours in the cold for something they may not even have. His friend laughs, he turned to me, smirked and shrugged, and walked off. And that's when I walked out before I got into a shouting match with the manager I was seconds away from asking for.

i went in intending to get a new microwave, too, but fuck if i ever step foot in there, or any other best buy, again.

Having worked at GameStop for 5 years, it always blows my mind when I get that kind of service. I get you hate your job, but seriously? Come the fuck on.

So the 25th is when GS is getting the rest of them?
Yes, though you'll only get Ike if you preordered on or before 12/26 and ypu'll only get Dedede if you preordered on or before 12/30. Sonic and Mega Man will be available no matter when you preordered them.

Yeah, this is the kind of stuff we have to complain about, that employee should not get away with it. Fuck that guy.

Kids these days don't know how to work retail. I constantly have to call them out on having Smurf conventions during selling hours or when they're playing Trivia Crack and could be cleaning.

This kind of thing bums me out. I've worked in large retail stores that have sold things other than video games, and it is extremely easy to just answer those questions for a customer.

Heck, you can do it all on the computer. Sorry you had to experience that.

Should have complained to a manager and got the lazy fuck in trouble. Just walking out with a silent vow to never return helps nothing.

Has anyone gone to Walmart for Amiibos on day of release before? Most other stores open at 9:00 am or 10:00 am, but these assholes open at 6:00 am!

Maybe that means no one else will be stupid enough to go...

Now I'm afraid my MM CE will come damaged.

I dont even really consider WalMart an option for amiibos.

Walmart rarely restocks on amiibos. My Walmart only carries Mario, Pikachu, and a crap load of Peach. I've never seen them carry any wave 2 amiibos. Don't waste your time. Try Best Buy.

OK, I didn't think it was that bad. I'll sleep in a few hours longer and hit up BB first, then.

Thanks, Amiibros!

i did for wave 1 since bby didnt have a marf. and thats where i got my marf. it was about 1-2pm on release day. since then its been pretty much a barren wasteland with mario/dk/peach tumbleweeds.

I haven't received a call from GS yet. Is that a good thing? I THINK I pre ordered Ike and MM before the 26th. Can't remember.
Not too sure really.

I ordered mine on Dec. 19th (site to store) and got 2 calls (2nd one went to voice mail because I was listening to the first call I got). One for Ike and one for DDD. Both mine have been paid off since mid January.

I would guess my actual store will call me one they're in like they have been doing.
