lol 1am?nah fuck that boy. its probably 1am PST too cause well shit, thats the only time zone that fucking exist in the US (I'm just salty that I live in EST and everything ALWAYS goes by PST). I'll just have to hope I can pre order em at gamestop if thats the case. or hope that they're still up when I wake up.
 
So where is this Amazon W4 rumor coming from? I haven't been able to look because of school, but I would like to know where this rumor came from?
 
All of the previous waves and the Super Mario line pre-orders said up for a decent amount of time, so I'm going to bank on wave 4 being up somewhere for more than a few seconds.

Just print the same amount for all characters. Done. Nintendo should've known that 90% of sales would be collector's/hardcore fans who want figures that would've never been made otherwise like G&W. I certainly called it.
I know this makes me sound stupid but whatever.
ALSO: DON'T RELEASE SO FAST! wave 2 should've been just now to ensure enough stocks for all and Wave 3 should officially be 2 waves. (In US.)

I hope W4 figures are on amazon tonight. Even if I miss them, just get it over wIth. Especially now that I have prime and 1 click until the 12th. Amazon pls. PLS.
Can you even one click without prime? Default to standard shipping? Google tells me nothing.

When would they go up? What time were SM W1?

I'm as ready as I'll be I guess. Usually stay up to 2:30 AM CST so as long as its not sold out before I get it...oh dear...

-Mario characters always get biggest shipment.
-A lot of people second guessed buying the SMB series.
-The only character that people had an interest in, Toad, didn´t last 2 hours in its amazon first run.

Toad was up on Gamestop, though, for a decent amount of time. Like I said, I'm pretty faithful that they'll be up somewhere for at least a couple of days. None of the other waves pre-orders have gone out in seconds that I know of, barring maybe the retailer exclusives.

I also think this is an opportunity to expose kids or whoever to characters beyond Mario, peach, and link. If all characters were produced equally, someone picking up Fox or Villager might get interested in the games for the first time.

Nintendo even figured this out by mentioning VC trials with amiibos.
 
My thoughts on Fox are that they will be releasing Amiibo for the whole Star Fox team alongside the new Wii U game, so his Smash production was intentionally less than others.
 
I mean, honestly, outside the retailer exclusives, what pre-orders sold out instantly when they went up online? There's no way I've been that lucky in getting pre-orders in for the figures I want a few days or week after they go live. It's always post-release when figures go up and sell out instantly like that.

I hope wave 4 doesn't go up tonight. I have to go to bed so I can wake up for work tomorrow morning...I wish they went up during my weekend! Hope the speculation is false. :(

You know what, I've figured they're going to release some Star Fox ones when they release the game, though that's probably 6 months away at least, but with those and with STEAM and others (like Marth or other FE characters), are they going to give them different cards and poses? I know they did with the MP10 ones, but those don't actually say MP10 on them, they're just a generic Super Mario card. I can't imagine they'd repose Marth for STEAM or Fox for Starfox, but possibly give them new cards. I can't imagine they stick with SSB logo.

Well Ike and Dedede were up for a while at Gamestop and as it turns out, half the orders for it aren't going to be met until another couple months later. So there is some sort of precedence for worry about Toad.

Makes business sense. You sell the more popular stuff that is going to sell. I don't see what's so silly about that.

Unless you mean, why bother selling Ness or Megaman or Lucina. They know there are fans of those characters in Smash even if you aren't a fan of the character outside of Smash.

I've said this before, they are going to phase out characters to replace them with other models. After this Mario line, we'll get another Mario in a difference pose for another game.

Marth is just getting a reprint, not a completely new amiibo for STEAM. The FE characters just happen to work in the game, that's all.

I would bet you'll see different poses as each line gets dropped in favor of another. Popular characters will stick around, while others won't.

I think it's more so that they can make more. The odds of that port strike holding tons of rare amiibo and not just a bunch of Mario and Link seem pretty low. Especially when the sell through chart points at the rare amiibo being sold out completely.

It's a different game now though. I remember many if not most people saying that the exclusives, just for an example, would be well stocked. They were so sure. Those preorders were up for days before selling out. Think about how the state of things are now though. Most smash amiibo that got released in wave 3 are super hard to get your hands on right now. The exclusives near impossible without a preorder. People are going to be a lot quicker this time. There's also probably a lot more interest from scalpers and collectors alike now after wave 3.
 
So the only two I still need from Wave 3 are Ike and Dedede, someone's offering a trade for Rosalina & Pit, but I feel like those are more rare and it's not a good trade. Plus, I'll be in Japan in a few weeks, so I don't think finding those will be a problem fer me. Any ideas, amiiboGAF?
 
I'm trying to remember if i read the rumor correctly but the whole midnight thing is because an amazon CS agent said check in the morning. The person speaking to them assumed it could go up at midnight since that's the start of the morning. As far as I know Amazon doesn't tend to list things in the middle of the night. I really don't think we have anything to worry about.

Also keep in mind that when the W4 Amiibos on amazon.jp went up, they never actually were for sale. In fact, they still havent been up for sale, but their pages are active.

So, they might go up tonight, but I doubt they will be for sale.

Yeah just like the super mario line on US. It was at least a week as I recall.
