Anyone have an extra US Marth in the package that they want to trade?

UPDATE: I didn't actually see the opened Mega Man and turns out, my brother was joking.

False alarm.

imagine if a new MegaMan game were to be released and the megaman amiibo was usable for it,huge missed oppertunity if it doesnt happen.

Has anyone ever had a preorder from Amazon.co.uk fall through? Although I've had delays in delivery from all sourced Amazons so far, I've never had an outright cancel. This one is a longer delay than usual, but also isn't canceled.

Am I likely going to be ok or am I fucked?

I've preordered Lucario and Rosalina from Amazon.fr and didn't have any issues. Took some time, but they looked perfect.
 
how do you check if GS has ike? i remember someone said you can search what gs has using the item locator but idk how to do it.

(ooh, my bad for double posting. i thought someone would've posted by now since this thread goes so quick)

Why the fuck can't Nintendo distribute their amiibo evenly?

Ever since Nintendo dropped their MSRP for amiibo:

Peach, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi, essentially the super commons that won't sell. Fuck they are even taking up that precious retail space. It's flooded with amiibo that won't sell and in other places there are no amiibos to sell. Cause some fucker scalped the whole place like this fucker here.

Why can't Nintendo distribute their amiibo evenly across retailers?
I mean in an amiibo shipment from Nintendo we got: A ton of Toon Link and Bowser, no King DeDeDe or Ike to be found. In Canada Rosalina was MIA.

So why the fuck is Nintendo doing all this shady BS for its consumers. It's so bad that most retailers are flooded with amiibo consumers don't want to buy. Of course things won't properly sell. People want their favourite Smash characters if they can't afford to buy all of them. But it's impossible unless your willing to dump $50 for one and that money goes to the scalpers.

Man Nintendo really knows how to fuck up. So many consumer issues, high volume of customer complaints. Preorders being cancelled, and preorder windows lasting not even 5 min.

Let's give worst company of the year to Nintendo rather than Ubisoft or EA. Too many fuck ups, unhappy loyalist. Scalpers making money. Nintendo really knows what they are doing.

Gamestop personally called me this morning and said my amiibos were in.
It ended up being Sanic and Mega, so I picked up both of them. Now I have a Rosie and a Mega to trade for Dedede and Ike. I do have one offer already, but if anyone is maybe interested, please send me a message.

EDIT: I'm in Cleveland, OH. This gamestop is the one in Steelyard which is right off the highway heading downtown.

When Rezae's Ike from our trade shows up I'll finally be done with Wave 3.

The suspense for the Wave 4 preorders is killing me.

I understand your frustration... but how is this any different than any other company releasing anything collectible ever? I'm pretty sure this is not a nintendo exclusive problem... but perhaps because it's something you have cared to DIVE SO DEEPLY into it you're feeling the effects of a collectors life. I'ts dumb to assume that this is only happening because Nintendo Sucks at life.

Nah. I wouldn't compare Lucina to an amiibo already released. If you do want to compare it to something, compare it to the Mario Party amiibos. They were up for a while (I know that because I was heavily debating getting Toad for myself for quite some time, lol) so I wouldn't worry. I would estimate that the new wave will be out for an hour at the most?
 
I keep seeing more and more people posting their trade requests here, so I figured I'd ask: what do you guys think is fair trade-wise? How would you rank the rare figures as far as trading goes?

I'm thinking along the lines of the retailer exclusives, then the holy trinity, Little Mac, Pit, Falcon (maybe not anymore...?), and some of the hard-to-find wave 3s. For example: If I offered a Mac in-box here, would asking for a Shulk be too much, or too little?

I know this may be a little hard to quantify or rate, but I'm starting to lose grasp of what would even be "fair" in terms of trading.

Guys, something happened. Just came home at 8 pm and opened my package that should contain the whole wave 3b.. yeah, it did, but see for yourself... The retailer sent me 6 instead of 5 amiibos.

  • Tomorrow I'll contact the retailer and explain what happened, I want to pay for the extra Shulk
  • I want to take this opportunity: I want to make a giveaway for neogaf members, this shulk should go to someone who really wants it! I want to make someone happy :)

Now please, I need your help here! I'm still a junior member and don't really know how such cases should be handled.

  • Is Shulk even rare in the US? If not I don't have to do this (Sorry, focused on the EU thread for the past few days/weeks!)
  • I really want to make someone happy. So I absolutely don't want to send it to a scalper - how do I do that? Is there someone that "just deserves it" here?
  • If someone only wants US amiibos that's fine for me, but I don't want to send my amiibo to such a person as it is an EU amiibo.
  • Still, I want to give everyone the same chances

Please be informed that I live in Switzerland and this is the most expensive country to live in (see OECD etc.). The amiibo costs me like USD 22 and the postage will cost me even more (~probably like USD 30). So, still I have to pay like 50 bucks for this giveaway, hence I really want it to reach the right person.

I think its kind of hard to place what something is worth to the fan and collector comparatively. As long as both parties are happy with the deal, I don't really see any problems.

Of course, stuff like Mario and Peach etc are on the low end of rarity, while things like retailer exclusives are on the opposite end. You have to also factor in other things like Marth, who's obscenely rare now and would require at least 2 minimum sacrifices in addition to your life savings, but could potentially become somewhat more common within a few months.

Refresh a search for "Lucina Amiibo" on the hour on Amazon?

I'm still irritated that I over estimated the demand/limited quantities of Rosalina. I figured "It's a Target exclusive so they will have a ton of them to get people into their stores". Nope.

Well, that was just an example. So many people are saying "this" for "that" and a lot of the time it doesn't seem like a very good trade. I remember someone asking for MK, Shulk, and Mac and offering a Bowser and Sheik in return (or something like that).

Point being, I don't even know if what people are posting is reasonable anymore. A rarity chart of graph would alleviate that, but who's to judge ultimately what's worth the most to least outside of eBay prices and perceived availability?

For the record, I do have NIB Pit, Mac, Falcon, and Fox and am a bit worried my Dedede and Ike from GameStop aren't going to come through after being delayed.

Edit: spyroflame0487, you share some of the same sentiments. I guess the individual satisfaction of a trade matters most anyway, as you say.

Shulk is rare in the US. At least until "summer"

I am just excited for a chance like this. Gamestop fucked my preorder of shulk so i been outta luck for a while.

Giveaway i would say maybe contact some of the members here that have "leadership" roles or hang out a lot here and see how to go about it? You can always do a moobot giveaway too.

regardless, thanks for being an awesome amiibro with it.

Yep it all depends on what both parties need. I have overpaid in trades to get what I need and I am happy with doing so.

One rare one for another rare one is fine but I have no problem trading 2 amiibos that are rare for an amiibo that is slightly more rare. As long as both parties are happy.
