i think dedede is one of the best looking ones yet. Lucario just looks a bit bland, but he's also a simpler character design too.

He definitely looks good but I like Pokémon more. Had it been Meta Knight instead of DeDeDe then I'd have picked him no doubt. I dig MK way more than DDD.
 
A Mega Lucario like that custom would have looked much better. I think a few of the amiibo are weakened by being shackled to their in-game design and or pose.

Which is why I think Olimar will be the best amiibo (assuming they put 3 Pikmin on there with him).
 
My Mario, Peach, DK, Pikachu and Sonic arrived today. Packaged well as usual, EB Games Australia are great when it comes to sending amiibo's.

Unsurprisingly, Pikachu and DK are Japanese copies. Not an issue for me as I open them anyway.

Well, just missing Luigi and Diddy Kong now :D
 
So what's the difference between the Mario line amiibos and the previously released Mario figures in regards to functionality? I know Toad and Yoshi are new, but everyone else has already been released.

Or is it just for collector reasons?

Toad is the only new one. Yoshi is also in the smash line. They do have the same functionality, it's just that only one game can have it's data saved in an amiibo.

Yeah I've seen that, it's more a travel case though.

I would buy a proper display case.

I finally got the one amiibo I really wanted, so with a total count of 3 amiibo, it's time for me to say goodbye to this insanity.
Goodbye amiiboGAF, I'll miss you.
Even though I didn't check too often.
I'll still miss you.
 
Got shafted by Gamestop (mentioned it a bunch of pages ago) on my pre-paid Shulk, but it looks like I've got a spare US Rosalina. Anyone want to do a trade straight across?

I've seen a few people on twitter getting them, but I haven't. Probably because of the weather in the past 2 days.

I'm so salty at everyone in the US getting their MegaMan Amiibos :( I have yet to find one here in Peru. Wave 3 was released last week and MegaMan went OoS in plenty of stores on Day 1...

i got an email a few days ago from nintendo saying they sent me something, but doesnt say what it is. i suspected that it was the smash soundtrack, since that is the only thing on my club nintendo account that is listed as one of my rewards

Got the exact same email - and I can't figure out if it is about my Ike or Dedede since I have both pre-ordered from them... At this point I'm just assuming it is both.

Really really sucks, those are literally the two left I need for a complete Wave 1-3 collection. If anyone finds a spare, or is looking to trade for a sealed MegaMan - please send me a PM.

edit: Oh yeah, I'm NA-East, but I open mine so I don't care about packaging - just as a btw

Told myself not to get into collecting these but my friend sold me his Bowser and gave me the other 3 for free today.

Also placed an order on Gamestop for Mega Man and Sonic. What have I done. :(

Same here, had Ike and Dedede preordered there.

As a funny coincidence, a friend of mine told me he had me covered on those. I asked what he meant, and I guess he somehow accidentally ordered both of those twice. The Amiibo gods smiled upon me today I guess.
 
So I preordered Shulk from Canadian gamestop online for in-store pickup. Thought I'd call today to see if they'd gotten him in yet.

They sold him because they said my phone number was incomplete so they couldn't call me. They didn't try sending me an email even though I ordered online and they sent a confirmation email when I preordered.

Now that wave 3 has been fully released, what do you prefer; The whole wave releasing in one day or broken up over the course of a month?

Personally I prefer that the waves are broken up since it makes it a lot easier than purchasing 11 amiibos in one day. It would be nice though if there was better communication regarding the release dates although that could partially be blamed on the port strike slowing things down.

Agreed most definitely , Waves makes this already disastrous amiibo situation a bit more bearable with some order ,can you imagine the insanity if all the amiibos of that respective wave were released at the same time?

To get a good mental image of the sight imagine had Nintendo released all the store exclusives on the same day it would be a massacre.

That is my biggest fear. Walmart exclusives alone are impossible for me since every single one around me is a 24 hour store so who know when they are releasing Gold Mario.
 
So, I've seen a lot of Gaf discussion on the topic of which amiibos look the best so far.

I've seen many people say that megaman looks amazing. A lot of people say Shulk is the best looking human amiibo so far.

Others say cpt falcon is straight up awesome.

But THIS... THIS GUY! This angel I have just received after trading my Shulk a few minutes ago..
He is so beautiful up close lol

I like it all at once.

Worry for 4 weeks or worry for 1 day? I'll go with 1 day thanks.

It's nice not having to be glued to my phone to check every 5 minutes.

Just unleash the wave at once. Splitting it up causes confusion and fuckery that leads to headaches.

Of course you already know it ,i think its safe to say that most if not all of the Mario Party 10 cast will be featured in the "Super Mario Series"

I personally would love a Dry Bones amiibo!
