It's pretty clear that some people are selling popular products for extra money, and some make scalping their primary "business". Professional scalpers pretty much predicate their way of life on making things hard for people who are just trying to acquire products the way they were meant to be distributed by the manufacturer.

It has to happen at least once per amiibo thread, it's like a tradition at this point. The best part is nothing changes, just people telling each other how ethical or unethical they are or think others are.

Maybe my views may be misconstrued but I have two of a bunch of Amiibo's (not all), one for opening and one for keeping in the box. As a collector, I love the box. As a video gamer, I want to use the thing. Let's be real here, if Nintendo let me use the Amiibo in the box, there would be no point of me owning two. However, that's not the case.

What I can tell you, is I have never bought two of the same amiibo from the same store. I have worked hard to get my doubles. For instance, I had an Ike and a DeDeDe. One, the Ike that came had a busted box due to TRU shipping. Nintendo World was selling wave 3 this past Friday, line ups starting at 8am. My friend and I woke up at 5:30am, took the train down, and waited for over an hour in the frigid cold. My feet are still frozen.

Now, that being said, should I be denied another Ike because I have a dented box one even though I woke up early and did my due diligence? And now, I can open one of my Ike's to use in Codename STEAM, and one for collecting purposes.

The only amiibos I haven't opened yet are my Little Mac and Shulk. I'll admit at least part of that is due to their "unicorn" status. I don't know if I ever will or not. All my other amiibos have been opened, though, including my Wii Fit Trainer, but she's my fav.

Ha. A similar thing has happened to me, actually.

I only have a few, so they don't take up too much room. Bought them with full intention of opening and using them, but I don't want them to get dusty when not in use. If only the boxes weren't in such good condition--then I could open them no problem.

Toon Link will probably be opened soon, though. He's got a few paint blemishes that need to be removed. Also, I really want to scan him into Smash and Hyrule Warriors.

Figured I'll tell my story. Was able to get most of wave 4 by pre ordering through bby and gs. Waited in line for rosalina, me and my wife each got one. Was able to also get an extra d3 from target. Put the extra rosie and d3 up for trade on Craigslist for a lucario and shulk. The guy who I traded for a lucario told me he had 5 rosalinas and 4 lucarios =/ when I met him for the trade, I found out he is a doctor at a local hospital... Wat. Will be trading my d3 today for a shulk and that will complete my wave 3. So far I've got all wave 3 and 2 and missing wft, villager, and peach from wave 1

That is true. Even if there's a reproduction that won't deal with the scarcity issue necessarily. Unless you make Marth incredibly common, it won't have an impact. Even if he's somewhat available, the scalping associated with the product has already taken over. I feel that's the case with amiibos like Sonic and Mega Man.

You can use that same Mario for Mario Party, if you didn't know. And I would maybe take a look at those actual Captain Toad features, they are pretty lackluster, if that's all you're getting Toad for.

Eh, I say just get a figure of your favorite characters only, and thats only if you like the pose too. Not for any ingame functions, those ae bonuses I suppose, but thats just me.

Plus if your getting it for Toad then I'd wait a but after launch, Toad might be rare at first bu he should be common within a month. I'd wait mainly because we don't know if finding the 8Bit Toad adds a icon to each level saying that you did or not. I might be like those 8bit Luigis in SM3DW/NESRemix where it does nothing. And I feel like its really not worth it if it doesn't add a icon so I'd wait and see first on that front.

Cool for fans of Marth to get a second try but yeah, if yall want him prepare to wait in line man hours because we all know how rare his reprint will be. :/ I don't think I'd go for him even if I had a chance. Still more commons that I want to secure and really onlike care about Lucina and Female Robin. And Ike too snce I like his moveset but never played his games.

Kirby, Diddy Kong, Smash Mario, Smash Bowser, Pikachu. If I could only get one of these, which should I get in terms of Rarity? Smash Mario & Bowser are being discontinued for the new ones so I feel I need to get Smash Mario first, but i just don't know how much time I have. Kirby seems to be getting more and more uncommon very slowly, hell I've never seen him in a store. Diddy Kong and Pikachu seem safe for another month or two. Too bad I missed DK but I kinda like his SM pose more i think so I don't mind. I think I'll just go with Kirby since I want him more, I want atleast one Kirby series Amiibo in the end. Well I want Diddy the most but he should be safe. I guess if I miss Mario and Bowser then I miss them.
