Amplitude (Harmonix) PS3/PS4 - KS (Funded, final day)

Damn, I upped my pledge from $20 to $40 early this morning and didn't get the email about the DLC stuff. Oh well, I hope the next 70 hours are fruitful, I need this game STAT.

I am confused. What does "$20 worth of DLC codes" mean?

$20 PSN money? Codes for just random PSN games? Codes specifically for new songs in Amplitude?

Harmonix has a bunch of PSN Codes for $2.19. (That's how they gave out free Rock Band songs) You'll probably get 9-10 of those.

My only major complaint is that both the ps3 and ps4 controllers are unsuitable for this type of game. The R2 triggers have too much throw and you won't be able to keep up on the hard mode version of these tracks. The ps2 controller was perfect for this because the R2 trigger was just like R1. This is a legit issue for me.

Yeah, I feel the same way. I'd use circle occasionally, but not all the time. Oh well, it's not like I even own a PS3...

I almost wanted to get the 100$ tier, but I'm not that excited for the game. Amplitude is a great game, along with that nice PS2 box! It just seems to be too much money for that case (which doesn't even come with a disc). An Option between 40-70$ would be a no-brainer for me. :/

I'm at work now, but I might throw down for the $35 tier. I like the PS2 classic case but it seems a bit silly without a physical game or soundtrack cd inside. This would be the first kickstarter I ever backed if I do. Don't steer me wrong, GAF. Never played these games on Ps2.

I'm on the $70 tier contemplating the $100 tier, but I thinking Im might as well go $125 for a damn tshirt while im at it. lol

Wait so the $40 tier is basically paying $20-25 just to get the game two weeks earlier? Did I just get robbed!?

Pretty much? That $40 tier is ridiculous to me. But check your email, if you were an early backer you get the $20PSN if not I suggest jumping on that $35 while there are a few hundred left

Amplitude DLC that has a total value of $20.

Maybe the Harmonix guy can clarify, but to this point they have been giving away $2 PSN codes that can be used on anything iirc.

If you got the email it was basically paying $20 extra to get $22 PSN money and get the game two weeks early.

I'm a bit short of money, so I hadn't donated to this until now. Then I saw one $15 tier opening, couldn't resist :D

Pretty much exactly the same situation here. Luckily jumped into an opened up slot at the $15 level. Never played the original but as I enjoy rhythm games like this it should be fun!

Damn then at least do the 100$, just because of that case. Much better than the slikscreen print.
Honestly it's not exactly what you'd expect for that amount of money (hell, even collectors editions cost less).

I know technically Canadian and US accounts are different, but I don't know that it's clear that US DOESN'T mean Canada as well. Obviously I wouldn't tell anyone to bump to $35 based on that, but if you're already committed at $120 I don't see that it makes a difference to you. Either the code works or it doesn't, and it probably will work!

(Hopefully Harmonix addresses this when the tier goes live or via livestream/Twitter)
If it is a batch of RB3 $2 codes, then I can tell you for a fact that it doesn't work. For a while when they were doing their giveaways for Rock Band, none of the codes worked for Canadian accounts because for both the 360/PS3, the codes were region locked.

I'm not too upset cause I already pledged above it, but sort of sucks and a caution for anyone in Canada thinking they're getting this awesome upgrade right away.

On the Kickstarter page it says their DLC codes are redeemable for "Harmonix DLC".

If they are just straight-up giving away PSN dollars I would probably bite on that tier. If the codes are only applicable to Harmonix DLC, that's a good deal less attractive.

Real talk:

If Shu had donated $5000 or something instead of the lower tier people would be complaining even more than him donating (as a fan, not as an exec) at the early bird tier.

It's lose/lose, apparently.

I'd assume the codes are for use for whatever DLC you want to purchase. If this is the case I don't see a problem. But I agree it would be nice for clarification.

Judging by this schedule is this the end of new tier announcements? I hope they announce a tier between the $125-$200

lol fair enough. I'm ready to go to that point if the goal really needs it.

The dollars are going up but the number of backers is barely moving. That suggests that everybody who's willing to back has backed, and what's happening now is existing backers raising their pledges.

If they get 500 more backers per day for the next three days, the average pledge will have to be $82 for them to fund. It's possible, but backers will have to dig REALLY deep.

Or Harmonix employees are loaning money to the KS in order to get the hundreds of thousands already pledged.

Just passed $550,000.

An early bird spot just opened up and I jumped in at $15. Since I wouldn't be able to add $US to my account it's the same thing as paying $35 to the KS. The KS gets $20 less from me but that's not my fault.

Probably not happening yet, but I could see them going "fuck it" and putting in $100,000 to get back the $600,000.

Of course, I think that would be fraud.

I can see it being possible in the last few hours before it ends.

No point in doing that now.

I feel like if we had 12 extra days, the gap right now would be nearly or completely closed.

There aren't even enough rewards tiers to really do that anyhow. They'd have to buy like 600-700 $125 tiers and and buy out all the high-level rewards, since everything over that limit has a hard cap. Logistically it would be very very hard to do that in a way that doesn't look like fraud. You'd need 700 different Kickstarter IDs, 700 different Amazon accounts, 700 different credit cards.

lol No email. I'm about to say get fucked Harmonix and pull out altogether. That shit is grimy.

Notice the "or more" part?
You can enter an amount higher than the amount for the tier. Go into the 'manage your pledge' section if you don't believe me.

Nothing actually preventing you donating $10k and selecting a much lower tier. I believe $10k is the cap on a single contribution, though.

Hey, it worked, was in the $20 tier, upped it to $35. And yeah, did it just now, so go for it if you still want to. Said 88 left when I just did it...

Makes sense, it would explain why they've gone to great lengths to warn anyone not from the US away from the codes.

I do wish there was a tier that got everything (artbook/soundtrack/early access basically) except physical rewards, it would give me something to upgrade to that isn't such a huge jump. On the bright side, I did just manage to score an early bird spot that someone else vacated, so yay me.

I feel so dirty.
