As much as i liked Rogue One, i'm not really sure i want to see a series about that guy, especially as he was a bit of a dick (killing the defector at the start, trying to kill Jinns dad).

It does look impressive though.

I wasn't really paying attention to this one but holy shit that trailer looked amazing. Fuckin hyped, that soundtrack slapped too!! Lets goooooo!!

Only part that confused me though was when they were rappelling down the side of the building, I'm assuming to sneak in. Not sure why they wouldn't just consider all piling in under someone's trench coat and walking through the front door. Seems like a lot more work the other way but whatever.

I really like the idea and what they're showing. Focusing on the rise of the rebellion is a great scope, might make the star wars universe feel bigger and more interesting.

Thats what made his character interesting. In a galactic civil war not everyone is going to be a good guy, even ones on the "right" side.

Im sure they will retcon all that though, no way Disney has the stones to make a show about a bad guy. Look how they massacred Boba Fett.

I’m surprised so many people liked Rouge One; I thought it was a pretty irrelevant story with characters that weren’t fleshed out enough to care about. Felt like more nostalgia bait than anything with real substance. I guess it’s better than the Sequel Trilogy but that’s a low bar.

I can't speak for everyone but it's one of my favorites because it's the only non-OT SW that had an OT vibe. There was no ulterior motives with the movie as well. It felt like a SW movie made by a SW fan. Mando was close but it's too formulaic and safe.

Nah he’s the same Andor. They show Fest in the trailer which was a Separatist planet during the Clone Wars. That’s what Andor meant in Rogue One when he says he’s been fighting the Empire since he was a kid since he was fighting them since they were the Republic.

I went to a matinee as had time and prefer it to full seats of noise makers.

Think there was another 1 or 2 people there.

Absolutely loved it, the new story, the robot and the ending. Christ the ending was surreal as hadn't been spoiled. Planet and it's heroes get nuked and then Vader showing up with his best scene ever to that date. Then Leia.

I walked out as happy as a pig in shit. Thought Disney is bringing it home! lol, stupid me. Will give this a chance though.

It was pretty ok. Rogue One would've fit right in with other EU stories back in the day, and it was a competent film. Having an engineer secretly install a fatal flaw in the Death Star is a cool side story you might see in a Dark Horse comic during the 90s.

So one of the creators of the series has said “Andor will be dealing with a Trumpian government.

And all I can picture is:

Small hands ‪Palp: “We have the best Empire. It’s so huge. My granddaughter Rey, who is so sexy, will be apart of my administration.”‬

Ugh, that does NOT inspire confidence. Why they fighting the government that reigned in spending, made them hypermatter independent, and held off the Yuuzhan Vong? :p

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
All of that simply felt more Star Wars than any of their shows so far. The tone is different though, sort of a desperation to everything.

IF the trailer is truly representative of what they have produced I would go to a cinema to watch! Great trailer! This seems more mature, with a “deeper“ script. Please, be good.

Living rent free for sure.

You'd think a Biden world would be more interesting with a distant, rarely seen leader who hides from the press, shadowy relations with foreign powers, rampant crime and civil unrest, the need to use military force to quell protests, invasion of aliens at the borders, and disastrous military campaigns :p

I‘m beginning to wonder if marketing departments are doing this kind of woke-baiting on purpose to generate ‚controversy‘ and thus publicity. Maybe all these anti-SJW channels on Youtube are secretly paid by Disney to talk about their shows lol.

Seeing as how some of them have actually cost Disney a lot of money in the form of having to pay for additional studio security at the homes of certain targeted stars, that doesn't make much sense.

You're on to something, emotion (especially anger) sells, marketing knows it and lots of youtube creators know this. They have a similar objective: attract eyeballs. It's a win win win: virtue signaling to wokers, piss of anti-wokers, generate "controversy" and discission.

Have they called for violence against these "targets"?

It's called virtue SIGNALING for a reason. A large part of the problem with that ideology is that is REQUIRES a public display to validate it, just quiet background messaging isn't acceptable because it's the DISPLAY that matters, actions don't. Folks will loudly proclaim one thing, but then turn around and often do the very opposite in practice.

As for the "Trumpian World" comment, I could easily a relatively young marketer, eager to signal, and largely fed on one particular slanted view of the world, make this comment in absolute ignorance of what actions could be attributed to Trump versus the administrations bracketing his. They are also probably completely ignorant of actions the Empire took versus the Republic to even make the claim in the first place.

What Trumpian world??

The world where he isn't the President anymore?

The world where his house is raided by the FBI?

What world do these people live in, 'cause I happen to live in a Trump-free world. It's called "Turning off my phone and going outside."

New trailer dropped. My expectations are rock bottom but I have to say, this trailer sparked a flame of hype.

I dont watch all SW media, but I love how every trailer is super gritty like it's a no nonsense serious action adventure.

But then you watch it, and it's full of cheese jokes with often an alien or android comedic relief character.

Best Disney Star Wars film

I've heard stories that Iger HATED the first cut of Rogue One (where they basically get shot in the back in really dumb deaths), then Tony Gilroy came in and re-did the third act and the final movie was the result. He apparently did the same thing on Godzilla 2014, which Edwards also directed.

Which is interesting since I hated Godzilla 2014. I'm glad that they changed the third act

Certainly looks more cinematic.

Wish I looked forward to it but tbh i'm just kinda burnt out on....everything.
Especially so with Star Wars.

Oh yeah, that's some lazy shit right there. I get the OG props were barely modded real weapons but come on! And how exactly does he aim that thing? Former stormtrooper for sure :p

I would be thrilled if Disney took the dark route and had an insurgency suicide bombing, putting IED on bridges, and rushing crowded spaces with space AK-47. Bonus points if they partner with Toyota for a space Hilux.

I will skip this series, due to the fact that Diego Luna is a traitor to my country.

We don't want him in Mexico.
