Which phones? Also do they have encryption on?
Z5C, the tons of Mediatek 6752 and Helio x10 powered phones out there like Meizu MX5 etc
No encryption though
EDIT: Not MX5 that one has 3gb, other Meizu phones do have 64+2gb though

I feel kind of glad that I'm not able to notice these performance issues on my 5X, nor do I notice an appreciable performance degradation over time. I haven't rebooted my phone since I got it a few weeks ago. I have not been as satisfied overall with a phone as this one in a long time, with the exception of audio recording not sounding great.
My friend group does not use Snapchat, so maybe that's one reason. :B
it just sucks that their solution seems to be to wait until the hardware specs can hide the OS's faults. From my experiences you seem partially accurate. Its 64 bit Encrypted L/M.
Devices that are on 32 bit L/M un-encrypted with only 2 gb of ram do not seem to be suffering like this.
Edit: Android in its current state is a hog and its not helping that google is forcing encryption on new phones. It needs 3/4 GB of RAM, Snapdragon 820+ and super fast flash. When your phone is getting bogged down by crappy software/memory mgmt you need as much cpu and flash speed as you can get. The last thing they need is shitty 808/810/Tegras overheating. I think the s7 will actually be a pretty good performer just annoyed its not USB C.

To androids credit the cpus and flash memory speed has been shit. Even though iPhones are operating with less Ram their cpus and and flash speed is always top notch.
What I don't understand is why Google used cheap flash again in their new phones and Pixel C. They learned nothing from the Nexus 9. Not even mentioning the RAM. Better margins are not worth ruining a brand...
Which makes me laugh when rumours say google wants to take control of the nexus line and make their own phones. As if they know how to do it right. Ah well. Nexus 2016 should be interesting if those rumours are true. Will finally be time for them to put up.To androids credit the cpus and flash memory speed has been shit. So encryption is being forced on Marshmallow? Does that mean my Tab S2 is screwed? The performance is incredible on Lollipop. But, I really need that data back up feature that Marshmallow brings so I don't need to lose my data and so I can bring in game saves from my phone. Having to deal with worse performance would be very unfortunate for me.

Not sure if you're joking or not but I'm not lying. How would android be causing this? The problem started after I put my sim into the iphone. And android doesn't have any imessage connectivity so that wouldn't trigger anything imessage related on the iphone.
Sorry. I've been trying to fix this for a while ànd I'm pretty frustrated.joking.
2016 Moto G and Moto X
Looks super nice if real. Hopefully this is the design they use down the line since I know it could change
ah yes
iphones with a moto M dimple instead of an apple
That really sucks about the 5X.
Do we anticipate an update that will fix this, or is it a hardware issue? Makes no sense the older phones are able to run Marshmellow fine.
You're welcome! Android OT fixing Apple problems. What don't we doOK I finally fixed the imessage problem. Thanks everyone who helped.

Wow my G4's battery went to shit since getting Marshmallow. Went from getting 4 hours SoT to 2 1/2 hours SoT.
Yeah, I'll be holding you to that one. You're implying a massive performance win here. Let's see just how "slayed" the 820 will be in a month or so.I'm going to be annoyed when the Exynos Galaxy S7 slays the snapdragon 820. Not fair!
is the nexus 6p a good phone for my dad
If he doesn't mind the size, sure.
Or at this point might as well wait and see how the S7 turns out if he wants something a bit smaller.
he needs a new phone this week and wants a bigger phone
is the note a better choice?
Pretty sure the 5X issues are QC issues.
Considering I know 3 people personally who have it and praise how silky smooth it is, and 2 other people who swear it's one of the laggiest phones they've ever had...
I really like chrome, but I hear a lot of bad things about it. Can you recommend anything similar/better?Yeah right. You're probably hearing different things due to differences in uptime and possibly app usage. Chrome can destroy a phone and lots of people do not mobile browse much. Just an example.

Pretty damn good. Thanks.Rsbrowser
So I just got a 6P on Thursday and have been loving it so far. Coming from an iPhone 6, the larger and more vibrant screen is a definite plus.
My issue is, the battery life seems to have dropped just two days after getting the phone. On the first day, I was pulling around five hours of SOT with no issue. Yet now, Google Play Services usage has skyrocketed, hitting about 22% before putting the phone on the charger. Mind you, I started charging the phone at around 30% to 40% and all it did for a little over a day was sit on my desk while I was mostly at the computer.
Is there a way to fix this? It only cropped up on Saturday and I'm not sure what is causing it. My settings for Location Services are set to Battery Saving, and I've even begun to disable syncing for Calendar, Gmail, Google Fit Data, and my Twitter account.
My phone is running rooted on the stock 6.0.1 ROM with some apps being hibernated in Greenify and Aggressive Doze enabled if that matters.

Nothing but patience fixed it. No idea. I stopped using Timely, too. It seemed to have helped. Maybe. Services is a black Pandora's Box.Maybe try to delete Google app/services data? I think AJ was having that same issue, but I don't know if he figured it out yet.

So what's everyone looking forward to this year? Can't say much in Android land has my attention.
Samsung can't manage to get updates out, so doesn't' really matter how good their hardware is.
Moto still appears to be a sinking ship at the hands of Lenovo, and their lack of biometrics in 2015 turned me right the fuck off from them.
LG is actually turning out pretty solid devices lately, but want to see them go away from gimmicks (V10's info band).
Sony's Z5 that released today ditches the biometrics found in EVERY OTHER COUNTRY'S VERSION. Ugh.
820 isn't sounding like the perfect smelling rose it once was, and Android is still chasing specs in many ways.
The Pixel is being widely panned for having Android instead of ChromeOS, nothing exciting on the wearable front that I've heard.
What's keeping you interested, fam?
Got a link/info on this? I was planning on finally retiring my N5 2013 this year, and another 810-situation would be downright sh*t.820 isn't sounding like the perfect smelling rose it once was, and Android is still chasing specs in many ways.
