I'm glad I didn't update my 6P to Nougat yet. My Moto X 2014 used to do the same crap at 10-15%.
Battery life on N is shit, reverted to dp5 which I was getting good battery on before I upgraded it to the final release. Now the battery on dp5 is still crap, android OS/system top of the chart. Think I'm going to revert to MM
Battery life so far is better than my Note 4 by about 20%
And this is with always on display
Note 7 battery explanation: https://youtu.be/_Cd2WIxKRDk
Possibly the circuit board within the battery failed or the manufacturing place that wrapped the batteries had microscopic metal shards that may puncture the integrity of the cells.
My battery is fine, running N on my 6P.

it hasn't exploded yet... in fact, the only time it was hot was during the setup when it downloaded and installed my apps.
35 out of 2.5 million exploded.
thats winning a smallish lottery!
might as well just sleep with your note 7 on your face with it charging
feel like they probably noticed something else when investigating the note 7.
Or maybe all the phones are a ticking time bomb and will 'explode' within the year or something.
hope some people don't return it and keep using it.
So I thought I'd give a custom ROM a go seeing as I was going to revert to MM. Running Pure Nexus which I was surprised doesn't come pre rooted, meaning Android pay will work on it. I like all the additional little tweaks over stock Android and most importantly the battery life is very good, sitting at just under 2 hours sot with 70℅ battery remaining.
Can't believe Google released 7.0 with these terrible Android OS/system battery drains. I'll most certainly wait now for a custom ROM based on 7.1 without all the bugs.
Well I seem to have read a lot of reports of it on XDA and Reddit, did a total of 3 fresh installs of N myself and all had the bug.The battery drains are on a case by case basis, not for everyone. I fresh flashed Nougat and it got rid of my drains anyway.
The Vulkan beta offers up to 30% improved performance translating to longer battery life, faster controls and higher framerates.
Got me an Axon 7 thanks to the tip above. Time to test this baby out and see if it's a worthy successor to my OPO.
A few posts on Reddit suggest it's sync errors, try looking for them under accounts and disabling/re-enabling to fix.
You will love. With Dolby toggled on, it sounds great. Access the equalizer for more goodness.
Pun intended? ¯_(ツ_/¯Yeah, mine is the same. It really is an overblown situation but Samsung is being better safe than sorry.

The only good thing is Apple goes this week.
So not only do we have something to look forward too, but I assume Google won't announce any till after Apple goes.
So the sooner Apple goes the sooner Google make's their own move.
sony is this week too.
And NX is possibly soonish?
Good month for tech.

Not sure what people expect a lot from this from Android. The only timing that this falls into is Sony's releases, since they are on a weird schedule. MWC is really the big conference for that.
And there were other cool tech things that were at IFA, but they had nothing to with Android.
Galaxy Tab S3?

seems like a huawei 7" 'nexus' tablet might be a thing.
