Android |OT7| Now With a Whole New Messaging System

Nexus 6P. I get so many more results for all kinds of search, the share button shares whatever Google has read off the screen and searched, rather than an image of the screen. It used to be so easy to send screen shots.

Weird.

6.5.35.21.arm64, no update available.

Going to grab your version from apkmirror.

EDIT

...and we have the Share button back. What the fuck was that all about?! Thanks man, I had no idea which app it was what controlled it.

Honeslty I know it's not but at the same time I really want one

I'd just wait, especially with rumors of a new OnePlus phone coming out with a snapdragon 821. I just got a 6P and you can basically turn it into a Pixel, software wise. Also installing the new Franco kernel it basically kills any heat the phone puts out.

Yeah I know I should probably hold off and not get it...OP have been great with the OP3 but I can't help but want the pixel.....

It's not hating. It's stating the obvious.

Google's current release schedule just doesn't work out well for them with regards to chip production.

When they make their own chips we can talk. They aren't now though. Hence the issue.

This is not the main reason why people are complaining. People are complaining because they don't want to pay $650 for a phone or just want to hate on Google. It wouldn't matter how perfect the phone was.

Regardless , this is nothing new. Google has charged premium price for a phone with a Qualcomm processor before.

I used the G5 but not the Honor 8. If you can get it for $400 or less, it is solid. Only things I didn't like about it is the shoddiness of the bottom portion and the battery life.

Both would be around €400. That is mainly what i fear, although it's nice to easily change the battery if it ever fails, and with a case it maybe not that much of a problem. From reviews, battery look decent, and it charges very quickly. I read somewhere about humidity entering through the bottom and damaging the phone.

While poking for screen shots (with volume+power) for the first time, it had no search result, and shows the message on the right instead...tapping all over it does nothing, sooooooooo a bug?

Update to the latest Google app beta on apkmirror. That fixed it for me.

Edit: Probably should have finished reading the page before answering haha

First Google phone I'm skipping since the Nexus S and I feel perfectly OK about it. Easy skip year for 6P owners. I never thought I'd be able to hold out but yep, I'm good.

Ever since the 8XX series started every year can be a skip year as basic tasks can be easily done from the 80(1) chip onward.

V20 is going for $800 unlocked, not $749. Shit is bananas

http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/1...unlocked-newegg-bh-include-free-g-pad-tablet/

as known, it comes with a below average tablet though

I was still on the fence but several people have posted battery stats and it's mostly atrocious.

I'd be right there with you if i didn't give 6P to my sister after she broke the Nexus 6 I gave her. Axon 7 is good but camera is just too terrible compared to my 6P to skip.

Yeah I don't think I'd upgrade from the 6P either. But coming from the 6, I think the urge is just strong enough.

His reviews are pretty worthless now. He praises every phone. Maybe that means the NDA is up for all YouTubers though.

His reviews have always been worthless. It's about the production value and he's a likable dude, but there's never been any substance to his videos.

Erica Griffin is where you go for quality in depth video reviews.

You are so fucking clueless. Your G3 is 32 bit and unencrypted.

You do this shit every time you get disappointed or wuse out of spending money on a new phone.

Please help me with my bad english
After a month with my 6P, holee shit does my original Moto X with it's 4.7 inch screen look tiny when compared side by side. Wonder if I'll ever be able to go back under 5.5-5.7 inch. The answer is probably no.

That's cause for the average person every major phone is praise worthy for the average user. We're essentially in coast mode for basic tasks like we are with laptops.

I get not finding his reviews helpful if you are trying to parse things.

lol I agree about him. I see when people say all phones are pretty good these days but that just means reviewers need to do deeper dives otherwise why not just make every review 15 seconds long and say "it's pretty good overall for most ppl kthxbye".

Not that I'd ever go to MKBHD for journalism or insight. I go to it for great video quality and closeups of gadgets lol.

Uhhhh dude you need to calm down. You really take this shit way to serious.

Wah! Osiris is too serious! Wah, I hate googles new prices! Wah! No one should be buying new phones until I am happy with one! Wah!!! I'm gonna buy a Chinese phone now! Nevermind they suck too! Wah! ~Vanillaidiot

His and the Verge have such a sick level of presentation. Hard not to watch them because you get really good look at what you may be dropping your money on. Its the closest you can get to holding the device yourself imo.

Looks like Apple is just starting to assemble a new team to fix Siri.

iPhones are going to be so far behind in a couple of years its not even going to be funny.

I go for Flossy's reviews. In depth and he keeps it real. Not super professional, but he tells it like it is. For professional reviews I like Android Authority and Pocketnow.

VanMardigan

has calmed down a bit.
This Axon 7 is a fantastic phone and I've already taken some good pictures with it. Low light is probably where I'll have issues but so far so good.

Now if I could get my damn OneNote problem fixed. I've never experienced this before where an app simply won't open on my device. Ugh.

Edit: fixed the issue, my office account was messing with the app startup process, I deleted it and OneNote installed just fine. Now the phone is perfect. I'm really happy I took the chance on this phone.

I don't care too much about in depth reviews, despite being an enthusiast. It's just too much information that I'll never care about. I just want the bottom line.

I agree that Verge and mkbhd have the best video production. It's why I watch their stuff, too. Substance is lacking but most people don't care. They just want a thumbs up or down in certain categories. Same for me.

I really miss tabs as apps. That was a far better implementation.

I bought this non Android device https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/a-laptop-fitting-in-your-pocket--2#/. I'm only posting here to say that I wish I didn't have to. Android should have a device like it and encourage portable Steam-like indie games. It would be brilliant. Although, admittedly, a super small market. The Xperia Play failed us.

If by so far behind you mean light years ahead in performance, you are absolutely right.

Yeah, I really enjoy Floss's videos. Pocketnow is pretty good. Juan Carlos has really filled into Michels shoes nicely.

I have nothing against MKBHD. His videos are like device porn to me, they are so crisp you can almost lick the phones. I'm more than slightly annoyed by his endless Dbrand shilling, though . I understand that he has to make a living and pay for all that fancy equipment that makes the videos look so nice but the way he usually tries to hide the ads as part of the review just makes me wince. I like the pocketnow approach of having a disclaimer at the beginning and the end of the video "hey this video was made possible by Dbrand" instead of trying to shamelessly plug them into the middle of the video.

It really rubs me the wrong way. Krystal Kay also does the same thing.
