Have you guys seen that a lot of those CIA's zero days for android that wikileaks exposed have Pokémon names? Found it very funny.

We gonna get an 'O' beta soon like last year? What's even rumored for that release anyway?

Atm nothing at all is rumoured for it that#s ive seen anyway.

I dunno though I have a feeling they'll do things differently this year due to the fact 7.1.2 is a beta atm

Sometime in the past two weeks I've stopped getting two factor texts from google...

Trying to setup the Authenticator app now, but of course, that requires putting in a code that I'm supposed to get in a text message.......... And the google help pages are far from helpful. I guess I'm in some queue now to resolve something in three to five business days :\

Is this the Google Authenticator app?

Why not use the QR code that they display in the browser to link them?

To link your mobile device to your account:
Using QR code: Select Scan a barcode. If the Authenticator app cannot locate a barcode scanner app on your mobile device, you might be prompted to download and install one. If you want to install a barcode scanner app so you can complete the setup process, select Install, then go through the installation process. Once the app is installed, reopen Google Authenticator, then point your camera at the QR code on your computer screen.

4k screen. This is the year. Also the bottom of the 8+ and note 7 aren't at the same starting point in that pic.

Yeah they are close in size.

What's the point in a 4k screen when nougat default sets your phone to 1080p on S7 edge lol.

Could make gear vr better. I do wonder if they will cross support with daydream?

Samsung was a company listed for supporting it.

No point in 4k other than a selling point. Yeah I noticed that with my s7 edge when I upgraded it to nougat. I immediately noticed the difference and went to settings and changed it. 1440p is much crisper to me.

I don't like the form of the S8. It's just not useful in any way.

As for 4K screens, is VR actually taking off? I barely seen or heard a thing about it at after last summer.

No clue. It's a novel experience watching vr porn. But that's about it lol.

Size comparisons of s8 and fam. Wonder what note 8 will bring besides a pen.
they failed on the s8 size. I'll never understand why samsung has two flagships and doesn't differentiate them enough. It's huge and huger. I'm glad rumours are apple is doing it right so far with the same dimensions and just more screen rather than bigger.

edit: though I bet it will be slightly taller too but not by as much.

Maybe tallness doesn't impact usability much outside of reaching for the top (probably some software solution anyways).

S8 seems about the same width as S7. Just taller.

Sony seems happy, and more people are getting into making headsets. Dunno about phone VR. Probably needs more power and time to mature a bit.

well this is stupid. I'm fine with the S8 size, but that's because I'm fine with the S7 Edge size. The still a ton of people value that small size and they had the perfect opportunity to deliver. Unless there's been a massive improvement to the speakers, having a big size and bigger size doesn't make any sense.

Don't worry guys the pixel 2 is going to deliver. They will certainly not release a similarly designed phone with better specs right?

right?

radio silence scares me :(

Don't worry, there will be some significant changes from the Pixel.

They'll remove the headphone jack and call it a day.

For what it's worth besides the dull design, pixel might arguably be the best phone I've owned. Battery life is solid. Smooth OS. Good auto mode camera.

Pretty much the best phone you can buy with money with the least caveats. Well besides them not being in stock.

The money is the biggest issue. I still don't see a reason to buy a Pixel when I can get an S7 for $200 less(GSM not CDMA). I say that as the owner of the Galaxy Nexus, 5, and 5X.

Yep cost is the thing. Although there was a few decent credit promotions with Verizon and t-mobile I think.

but then how would i be able to afford Trumpcare?

They are removing the penalty so just don't get any Healthcare unless you need it lol. Put that money into iphones! It's what the politician told me.

I just hate that we have to wait till Sept/Oct for another one...

I agree, though the first one just came out 5 months ago in October, & will most likely have the Google Pixel 2 out on that same month.

On the other hand, this gives Google plenty of time to do some shit with this upcoming sequel to the original pixel phone with improvements.

Super happy with my V20. At this point I prob won't even consider a new device till at least summer when the new waves of Chinese devices come out or end of year when the big boys are released.

It's still early in the leak cycle. I wouldn't be too worried. Plus all of the leakers are focused on the 1st half phones ergo we got all of those G6 and S8 leaks.

Nexus leaks usually ramped up around Google i/o. I see no reason why this won't be the same here.

I have no idea what's the difference between Assistant and Now.
Maybe it's because I'm in a non English speaking country.

Also hate that I can't do stuff like "ok google, do not disturb".

Assistant just seems like another Google Now. Hyped up by tech media as the next big thing but no one actually uses it in reality.

I use Assistant probably 15-20 times a day, for everything from setting timers in the kitchen to navigation, to sending texts and making calls. It's one of my favorite features on the Pixel XL.

You essentially could do all of that with Google Now though?

Yep, but the specifics/answers I get back from Assistant are much more helpful that they were with Now.

What answers are you getting back from spending a text, making a phone call, or setting a timer though?

I don't disagree it's not better, but it's just another evolution of what Google's always had vs some big new thing.

Fuck my phone battery has shit the bed.

Might have to upgrade before the 2017 phones drop.

AndroidPolice leaked everything about the Pixel phones around April/May. We still have a couple of months before leak season begins.
